What clients say about Mount Snow Grand Summit Resort in West Dover (VT)

The Grand Summit has not aged well. It once felt high end but now feels worn and tired. We stayed for 3 days last week. There were bags of garbage and pizza boxes left on our balcony from the previous guests. The tv was situated in a location where you could not see it from any of the seating. The fitness center once had 4 ellipticals. It now had one which was out of order. We went to the Market,(which opens at 7am) to grab breakfast at 7:20. It was closed and we were told the employee that opens it had not arrived yet. The lobby has coffee but the 2nd day we were there they had no cream. We were told that their order did not arrive. I asked about a late checkout and was told they they needed to speak to a manager and it would be an additional $100 an hour. Front desk employees were very nice but overall the hotel needs some improvement.

We had a great stay at the Grand Summit Resort at Mount Snow. We stayed in a one-bedroom condo-style unit with a full kitchen, bathroom, and a pullout couch, and it was perfect for relaxing after a long day on the mountain. The full kitchen was really convenient and made it easy to have meals in without needing to go out every time. The space was clean, comfortable, and had that cozy mountain feel. The pullout couch added extra room to relax, and the separate bedroom gave it more of a private, home-away-from-home vibe. The location is unbeatable—being right at Mount Snow made it incredibly easy to get on and off the slopes. Overall, the Grand Summit Resort is a great choice if you want comfort, convenience, and a true ski resort experience. We’d definitely stay here again.

I used to really like this hotel but they changed the parking policy so now you have to park at the bottom of the hill and get a ride back and forth to the hotel. I stayed during the week and the top lot only had a few cars with plenty of room but apparently only owners have access to it, completely ridiculous. The TVs in the room have such bad reception I don't use them, ridiculous. The food in the deli in inedible. I won’t be stying there anymore.

Disgusting. Room was filthy beds unmade with filth and Cheerios all over them, food was expensive and terrible - very limited options, staff is unresponsive and not helpful.

THE MATTRESS IS TOO HARD. We cut our trip short and went home early. The unit had a Murphy bed, so maybe they opted for a lightweight mattress, but the bed quality was extremely poor. We were paying over $400 per night for a weekend stay, which made it even more disappointing. We won’t be coming back to Mt. Snow.

I just checked out and I want to check back in. I want to make a personal shout out to Sara/Sara Beth. Just an incredible host. She answered every question we had with grace, knowledge, and kindness. We genuinely had such a great time staying here, with her help, that we're going to book again. The pool/hot tub stays heated all night. And the bar "Harrimans" is a perfect apres ski after. Hopefully you get Matthew as a bartender. He's incredibly hospitable. In brief, incredible resort. Perfect amenities. And if Sara(Beth) is working, you'll have a perfect experience from check in to check out

Most people are nice, some should it be interacting with customers. Based the weekend stay, there's no reason to choose this over other places.

CHECK CANCELLATION POLICIES!! I booked a Friday-Sunday at the Grand Summit with the intention of taking my family skiing (2 adults, 2 kids in private lessons and ski school). Four days ahead the weather looked way too cold for my two young children to enjoy skiing (low of -13, high of 4), so I called to change the reservation to the following weekend. I was told that during peak season, there is NO REFUNDS OR CHANGES to the hotel. I have never heard of such an inflexible policy, especially in the hotel industry. All I wanted to do was push it back by 1 week. I am appalled by the lack of customer service the Grand Summit has for their patrons. We will never be going here, and now I'm out over $1k.

Although we had some issues with our stay, Joel, the manager was very compassionate and understanding. He was willing to try to make things better and he did. A kind man! I am quite sure our issues were rare at this place because they seem to want everyone to be happy and we have talked to people who do love it there! It is a perfect spot for a family stay. If you go and you want to be close to the "ski in/ski out" ask for a room closer to the back doors, it's a long building and our room was quite far but some people don't mind that. Also, the valet workers were awesome and super helpful when our car wouldn't start. Note to self: do not put key fob in same pocket as hotel key. The front desk ladies are well informed and helpful too. The place is located in an awesome spot and the pool, hot tub, sauna, health club are GREAT!! Thank you Joel and the rest of the staff.

We just spent 5 nights at Grand Summit Resort and it was PERFECT. I’m not sure about the negative on-line reviews. The check-in process went smoothly and the lobby help was friendly and welcoming. We stayed in a suite and it was updated, clean and well-appointed. We had dinner in our room several nights and the kitchen had everything we needed. (Except a cork puller. However, the young lady at the Deli was friendly and able to help us.) The ski conditions were great considering it was early in the season (not all of the trails were open) and the ski equipment was in good condition. Some of the lifts were not open initially, but started running once more skiers arrived. The ski valet was convenient. We ate dinner at Harriman’s the first night. It was not fancy but it was good. We had the cheesy buffalo chicken appetizer; it was DELICIOUS. My husband and I shared the Fish and Chips (Yum!) and my son had a wedge salad. (A blue cheese lover’s delight and not for the faint of heart). The bar had a good selection and Alec made me a delicious white wine sangria. My son and I used the gym twice and it was well-equipped and provided water and towels. The outdoor heated pool and hot tubs were great! Clean and well-maintained as were the locker rooms and saunas. I did yoga one morning and enjoyed a massage at the spa; Jessica was amazing. I very much enjoyed talking with her. All of the ladies at the spa were friendly and helpful as was everyone at the the resort including Nazarena the hostess at the restaurant, all the ski lift operators, the ski valet lady and Kathleen at reception. Best wishes for the New Year and a successful 2026 ski season.

I had an amazing stay here. It was my first time skiing and I had a great time

I don't recommend this hotel. I have been coming here for years. And the new rules they placed for parking and access are a little too much for me. $5 to park your car overnight , like you have a choice. I came to go snowboarding , and they closed the lifts while the wind is only blowing at 10 to 20 mph. Wasted my time and money , I will try stowe instead. It's an hour further drive , but at least I'll get my money's worth.

Incredibly kind and helpful staff. Awesome pool/sauna/hot tub facilities. Easy to ski on/ski off. Beautiful spacious rooms. Will be back!

This hotel exceeded my expectations! My friend and I stayed in a studio unit with a full (small) kitchen, balcony, couch, dining table and Murphy bed. I was very skeptical about the Murphy bed but it was actually very very comfortable with excellent sheets, pillows and blankets. I always pack a blanket from home but I would not have needed to for this property. |Check in was a breeze and our room was not far from the lobby, pool/gym area, restaurant, etc. The restaurant was closed for a private event Friday evening, but was open later for drinks and was very inviting. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle into town where there are many restaurants and bars to choose from. The shuttle runs until 10 pm and is on demand!|The pool area was a really nice amenity featuring an outdoor heated pool, two hot tubs, a steam room and sauna as well as a gym. All were very clean! There is a spa on site but we did not book any services.|Overall this property looks exactly like the photos online and was a treat to stay at!

We stayed here during our Vermont fall road trip. The rooms are clean and well equipped, the resort itself is at a great location. East access to hiking trails and nearby restaurants. Staff is friendly with late check ins accepted.

This hotel is barely better than a Motel 6, on the good side, the pool is fine, the gym is decent, and the staff is friendly. Aside from that the hotel is a dump. Rooms are very old and need updating. The furniture was threadbare, and the bathroom door was chipped and peeling. When I asked for daily room cleaning, I was told "no" I was handed a stack of towels and linens—I guess to make my own bed! There is a Murphy bed, which leaves almost no room to get around the bed at night to use the facilities, as it almost butts up against the table. The bathroom tub is yellowing from age. There is only enough parking for 1/3 of the rooms next to the hotel, which means you need to park in a dirt lot and shuttle to the hotel—what a pain. I only stayed here because it was a wedding hotel, never again.I did not stay during ski season, so cannot speak of the skiing or the spa, but this is barely a one star hotel.

This hotel was a terrible disappointment. Filthy, rude, incompetent staff. Room was extremely dated with stains on the carpet. No fridge in the room. Parking lot is extremely small but managed to snag a spot when we got there. We arrived at 3:30, rude younger lady looked at us like we were crazy for trying to check in. Told us restaurant and deli in the hotel wasn’t open. We went into town to kill time. They called us 10 after we left to tell us our room was ready. Came back and had to park in a lot 1/4 a mile down a very large hill, since the tiny parking lot at top was full. The room was filthy, disgusting and coated in spiderwebs. These people should be ashamed. Avoid this cesspool of a motel at any cost.

They double charged me after I told them they were double charging me then I had to continue to call my banks and get statements and everything Because they told me they only charged me once Had to chase my own money that should’ve never been taken will never Stay here again and neither will my family

We were here for a wedding. The resort is nice and well located. The rooms were also spacious and clean. The two points of feedback are 1) parking situation is unacceptable. We were here for a wedding, and there were two other weddings going on so the lot was packed (and quite small). One of my our guests had a broken leg that made it hard for her to get around, and most of the staff was accommodating but it was still hard to figure out the parking situation every time we came and went. 2) the food situation could be significantly improved. There is only one pub that was not open during the day, and the front desk sent us to a deli for cold sandwiches and snacks so we had to leave to go find a restaurant elsewhere. There should be a restaurant or hot food readily available for order at this caliber of resort.

Great place to stay. it is on the mountain at Mt. Snow. Ski on ski off. The staff are very helpful. We had a sleep 4 studio facing the mountain. Hot tub and heated pool for relaxing after a day off on the mountain. The is one restaurant at the hotel which is ok.

The location is very convenient and the staff is friendly and helpful. We liked the amenities like the hot tub, sauna, gym, and s’mores. But the rooms are dated and the WiFi is unreliable. Sometimes it’s just slow (like 11 Mbps), but it drops a lot throughout the day. One time when it stopped working, I called the front desk and they gave me an IT phone number to troubleshoot it myself! I was on the phone with them for 30 minutes and they did temporarily resolve the problem, which was just them resetting system, which is what I suggested, but they made me go through all these other steps like whitelisting my laptop even though it had been working previously. The rooms just seem like a shell of their former selves. Our room had a patio but the lock on the patio door didn’t work. The pull out sofa didn’t have any sheets on it (and no sheets in the closet). When I tried to call to get sheets, I pressed the housekeeping button on the room phone and got a message the line didn’t exist anymore. Front desk button just rang endlessly. I ended up calling the Grand Summit phone number and going through the menu options to talk to the front desk which worked. To their credit, once I talked to someone they brought the sheets quickly.

Stayed here January 2025. The staff is friendly, the location was excellent for ski in and ski out. Outdoor pool and hot tub were awesome. All around a great stay.

This hotel has a good location, everything else misses the mark. The rooms are very dated with cable TV. The gym is disgusting. Basically everything needs a refresh. We went to the burger place at the main lodge, good but crazy expensive. Harrisons restaurant was mediocre with terrible service. The arcade, lame, just a few games. The pool is nice but also needs updating. The valet parking takes FOREVER. Once it took us 30 minutes and no one was even there. Another time they just told us to get it ourselves. They don't refresh the rooms unless you ask. We had so much garbage because we were there for 5 nights. If you don't ski or the conditions are bad, there is almost nothing else to do. They had a movie night, but we didn't know until we walked by it.

A great ski in and ski out resort right at the base of Mount Snow. The rooms were in good condition. We had a two bedroom suite which was a one bedroom with a kitchenette and living room with a lofted bedroom connected to a standard 1 bedroom hotel room. They have a ski check right at the mountainside entrance. It is nice to have your skis valeted, although the line gets long in the morning and at the end of the day. The hot tubs were decent, although they were often very crowded. Same story on the sauna and steam room. The television and Internet were both flaky. This was a disappointment considering the price we paid for our stay. I was impressed with the car valet service. Our car was always ready in 10 minutes or less. You texted your claim check number, a very seamless experience. Overall, I would recommend staying here if you are looking for a ski in/ski out at Mount Snow

I've stayed here twice for work and it's been a great homebase for my time at Mount Snow. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. It's close enough to the lifts to be convenient but not disruptive. The rooms are clean and spacious; and the hot tub is the perfect way to reset after a long drive to the Mountain.

I love the hotel, but I would avoid the Murphy bed. Uncomfortable, as I woke up with a stiff back for the 2 days I stayed there. The mountain had just opened for skiing when I got there, son the conditions were OK. ||The staff is very and always very seem to be smiling!|Thanks

Called ahead and was told Harriman's restaurant was open - the entire reason we went. To have kids swim and adults be at bar/restaurant. We arrived told it was closed. The vending machines on floor 3 and 2 both took money with no product. more than 1/2 arcade took our money - games broken. Told front desk and was told they do not give change or service the arcade. so we arrived and NO amenities were available or working. The deli posted open at 7am and did not open until 7:30. Why are you taking reservation when not ready. I am an employee and the staff member who was working on Thursday. I called and told Harrimans was to be open- the entire reason we went. we knew the mountain was not operating. SERIOUSLY IN TROUBLE IF THIS IS THE SERVICE BEFORE OPENING. i WILL BE FILING A COMPLAINT ON THE PERSON WORKING THAT DAY - I AM AN EMPLOYEE AND SHOCKED BY THE LACK OF CARE. WHY.. When called was offered the 500 room. I went on line and so many rooms for 250 or less. . my grandson asked for change for the arcade and she was annoyed and told they do not do that , what customer service. I have styed here many times in my 25 years at Mt snow, this was awful and pointless. At 5 pm we all were discussing leaving, what was the point. No food, arcade or vending machines working?? What a waste of money. BEST PART i CALLED AHEAD, AS DID MY HUSBAND SO TOLD 2 TIMES HARRIMANS WAS OPEN. spent my holiday at a hotel for a getaway and could not leave fast enough. The town is like a old abandoned town, expected more from the Summit. 4th generation family ( from NH very chill) and you failed miserably, Will file a complaint on the employee who told us all open!

We were here with a tour group. This is a large ski resort and they were not busy even in leaf season. Our group was spear out over all of the floors which was mysterious. Complaint: TV was on hospitality mode and we could not hear it over the din of the air conditioner. There appeared to be no way to unlock it. Food was good. Bar was relatively expensive. The food was good. All in all we were pleased.
