I stayed in the room where Lois and Bill stayed. I also had the chance to visit the cemetery where Lois and Bill were laid to rest.

Absolutely inspiring and amazing ?. If you didn't feel anything @ his gravesite and in the house, you missed the greatest feeling ❤️ ?. Thank you for letting me be a part of the best group of my life! It has saved my life and my mind. To the people that leave 1 star, you have missed the point entirely.

I did not stay at the Wilson House, I just passed through. It is such an emotional place for me as it is the birthplace of Bill Wilson, to whom I'll be forever grateful. 01-01-1992.

We were here for a weekend retreat and the history, camaraderie and intense emotions were just incredible! Staff were superb and the facilities were fantastic. One of the best meeting rooms we've been in. Must see!!!

We showed up on a Thursday night @6pm. Just in time for a meeting. We got a room which allowed us time to get the full tour the next day. Wonderful experience! It took a bit of effort to get there but isn't that the way when you're trudging the road. Grateful to be able to share this!

We stayed 2 nights and attended 2 meetings. Things have certainly gotten better since I was here 34years ago. Thank you Kim, Sandy, Elizabeth, and Bob for your service. This is the last stop on our Tour of stepping stones, GSO, and Dr. Bobs House in Akron.

This was an inn on a vermont country inns tour at christmas so we didnt actually stay here but it was nice to visit. The holiday decor was festive. We arrived a bit late and did not have an opportunity to see any rooms.

A beautifully restored historical house in the quiet village of East Dorset, Vermont. Bill W., co-founder of AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) born here. Daily meetings, weekend seminars, retreats, overnight lodging by reservation (best), Most meetings are open meetings. Check out websites for Vermont AA and for the Wilson House. Nearby towns have many meetings too. The rear most meeting room has a large collection of AA messaged license plates mounted along the ceiling. Classic front porch, nice garden. Library in near building, north. Cemetery where Bill rests, south about a mile.

Thank you to all who volunteer here and keeping the place welcoming and historical. Lives have been changed due to the serendipitous accounts of this man’s life beginning with his birth. And the countless others he crossed paths with.

I showed up for a meeting and the house was wide open with not a soul in sight. No one showed up and I was so curious about the place and fellowship that I waited. I walked around and explored by myself. Then proceeded to sit in my car outside for hours. I thought someone would show up to close the doors/windows and lock up. Waited until after 11pm and was about to leave when a local resident circled the block and questioned what I was doing in the area. And once I said I was waiting for someone to show up here then he stated the sheriff would be coming to question me next if I didn't leave. Smh. Seems like AA in this community is frivolous and inaccessible to outsiders. Made me a bit frustrated and sad really. I drove from far away to check this place and meetings out.

A historical site with spiritual connotations. The Wilson house is a piece of a Norman Rockwell painting brought to life. The inn and staff are incredible, maintaining a functioning bed and breakfast, while providing a living history of the co-founder of Alcoholic's Anonymous, Bill Wilson. A functioning meeting hall sits in back for Friends of Bill. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Each Friday a dinner is served along with a healthy dose of spiritual awakening. Truly an emerald located in the Green Mountains.

This is an amazing destination, full of good energy and welcoming acceptance. I traveled here in 2003, from the little town of Narberth, Pennsylvania. That's where I got sober from alcohol. I'm indebted to AA, the fellowship of the rooms and others who shared their experience, strength and hope. Also my mom. She was my biggest fan and I'm glad she knew I was her sober, loving daughter before she got sick with Alzheimer's. RIP Mom. <3 A friend in our group was celebrating 30 years sober when we visited. That was really something! You all made it so special. Visiting this historical home and meeting the other visitors and those who keep this gem going enriched my life, to this very day. Thank you for all the hospitality way back then. We were visiting in a snow storm so the next day we headed on up to the slopes for a day of skiing too. Magical experience! Thank you so much!

The Wilson's house is a magnificent experience as going through its interiors and seeing the full range of decorations, recognitions, photographs makes it possible to understand the origin of Alcoholics Anonymous. This place is a hotel where you can breathe a unique peace and tranquility, its meeting room for AA sessions are very intimate and comforting with plaques from many places and with AA-style phrases it is a fortune to meet and see this magnificent site this place is the true reflection of LIVE AND LET LIVE

Wonderful historic home of Bill W., co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, tucked into the small town of East Dorset, Vermont. A spiritual weekend retreat, with excellent food and a most kind and helpful staff, keeping Bill's legacy alive! Coming back in May, fir Women in AA, historical retreat.

Such an Amazing Spiritual experience every time, and so many spiritual signs at the graves of Bill and Lois... My spirit guides were in full swing when we stopped by on the way to the meeting... Found a frog ? Fully Reliant On God, which is a sign from my friend Robin... And the cutest little turtle ? ?, which was with a note on acceptance... Slow and steady is the message... I left a dime on Bill's Grave and that is my sign from Dr. H... When I got back to the car ? there was a sea shell on my seat... Honestly, have no idea where it came from... So, I knew it was meant to be left... I walked over and looked down at Lois's grave, and there was a marble... My Aunt Claire and God Mother sends me marbles as a sign... It was such an Amazing experience... So believe peeps, Believe!

We came here to see the 1852 Wilson House and were also told about the AA founder's great grandfather established the country's oldest quarry mine which was used to build part of the NY Public Library. The church and Library across the street are also interesting.

I was late for the meeting by about 5 minutes but the goers treated me welcome. It was a great meeting for me. After the meeting I asked a man in the parking lot where Bill W.'s graveside was. He said follow me and took me right to it. Wow, what a very nice jester. If you get a chance, I highly recommend going.

Mecca for friend's of Bill W. Great space and close to great hiking and ski slopes. Hot coffee daily! Great place to visit, and enjoy a meeting. Take photos of the historic area. Make new inroads and enjoy the history.

Visited there in mid-July, 2019. Found it very interesting and educational. A great deal of history about one of the founding partners of AA. The house guide was knowledgeable. this is more of a historical item than a regualr type of hotel.

This place is quite beautiful and has a ton of history. A neat fact about the Wilson house is one of the owners was a co-founder of AA Alcoholics Anonymous! Cool right?! And I also know they treat staff + volunteers amazing!

Lovely restored older hotel/rooming house now hotel. Period furniture make it quaint and charming. Modern good mattresses make good sleeping. The continental breakfast was very yummy with homemade frenchtoast, muffins, fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs and toast or cold cereal. Family style table set up made for cozy atmosphere. And lest I forget the charming memorabilia was only of set by helpful, friendly staff. It was a nice overnight get away for our small group of Friends of Bill W.

The Wilson House is the restored 1852 hotel and bar in which Bill W., one of the founders of AA, was born. There are rooms to rent, recovery meetings from Friday through Tuesday, sober swag to purchase, and a luscious Friday night dinner. Highly recommended. Great staff and volunteers.

Nestled in the green mountains of Vermont, This 1852 inn is a must visit for any friend of Bill or Lois Wilson. A full service bed and breakfast with great accommodations, daily meetings and weekend seminars. Great volunteer opportunities for anyone looking to serve to keep the legacy of Bill W alive. Donations accepted online.

It’s ok. Great history and spirit in the building. WAY over priced for what it is. No tv. Sub par food. No locks on the outside of the doors. Community bathrooms. Paper thin walls. The meeting room is super cool. I’d HIGHLY recommend staying at an actual hotel nearby and just dropping by for the meetings and history the building has to offer. Save yourself a ton of money and sleep in comfort. The beds are awful and the house echoes every single sound. I’m so glad I had the experience of staying here, but doubt I’d ever stay again. Makes for a great story, but not a great experience.

A highly recommended place to stay and visit. If you have a connection to the program of recovery, then your stay will mean even more than you know. What an experience. A historical landmark that holds meetings during specific days (see their website for days/times) and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

I loved my stay here! If you are in a program you will give this place 6 stars because..it is all about recovery. You feel spiritually at home. Room #2 has a private bathroom and queen bed. I looked at every room...one cuter than the next. Super clean and cozy. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Some people volunteer for service work. I noticed a sign for donations of sample shampoos, soaps and toilet paper. I later realized a volunteer had made my bed that day. I personally thanked her and she said she was delighted to help me enjoy my stay. Excellent experience! You can also sit in on open AA meeting if you were ever curious. So much wisdom and self awareness. There are also four bathrooms which are adorable. It was not weird to share and I never waited to use one at any given time. It is like a loving Grandma's home. Lastly..it is CLEAN...that is what I noticed first!!! Manchester(7miles) is a great little town...outlets are in newly built houses that keep the town feel...also a nice spa Equinox . Mountain views are beautiful too! It was a great value ($100)
