Moosalamoo is a wonderful place to camp!! Quiet and pretty sites! The sites and the vault type bathrooms are clean and secure. We have cell service most of the time!

This is a very well maintained national Forest campground where you pay for your spot. There is a host on site. The toilets are vault toilets, no running water but they provide the toilet paper. There are no showers there is no drinkable water so make sure to bring water with you. There is a pump but right now it is not working when it is working it is a hand pump. The host was fantastic this year and I hope he comes back next year. Being a local in the past I have camped here frequently and I plan on camping there again next year.

I was at 3 other Green mountain National Forest campgrounds and this one was definitely the best. Clean bathrooms.

2023 update SCAM Alert, $ 8.00. Nonrefundable Reservation Fee tacked on to 15 site fee Total . $ 23.00 a nite. NO WATER, WELL STILL UNREPAIRED,! NO HOST, Rochester Ranger Superintendent ripoff . Campsites have been paved over with bluestone Rock. Don't know what they were thinking when new tent pads was all that was necessary. Don't think there's going to be many happy campers. Everything else remains the same. Moosalamo Trail as predicted, has worn down to the tree roots due to allowing Mnt bikes, another go figure. Yes I saw a moose this last Spring, July 22 , update,!! car was broken into while campers were asleep nearby in there tent ! Unruly campers on weekends.

Very quiet & well-maintained campground! We stayed at campsite #3. Very spacious and secluded. Be advised - no running water, flushing toilets, or showers. There is a hand pump for potable water. Also no firewood available for sale onsite. The trailhead for the Mount Moosalamoo hike is at the entrance to the campground, which is a pretty easy/moderate hike, good for a serene Sunday morning.

Nice quiet campground. Very remote, no phone signal or traffic noise. It is a 20 minute drive to the nearest store or gas station. A lot of gravel roads.

I spent a few days here in June and have to say it was one of the nicest kept campground I've been to, stop and spoke to the campground host on the way in and he explained how payment and picking a site works. The site I was on ( 16 ) had two different spots for pitching a tent, one in the Blue stone mentioned already and one with dirt and grass, I choose the Blue stone and was glad I did. The second night I was there it rained all night, the stone offered great drainage. I was on motorcycle and found some awesome roads to ride near by. Will be back in the fall to do some hiking..

This is a nice campground, lots of trees. We usually hammok camp and number 16 was great for 2 hammoks. The place is pretty quiet and has a water pump if needed. There are a handful of vault toilets and no showers.

Great place to camp to get away from everything! 19 quiet, tent campsites in the Mountains of Vermont! Host campers were friendly and kept an eye on everyone NOT in a creepy, obnoxious way. Would definitely return.

This is a very well kept, small and quiet campground. There is a couple that stay there as hosts, and they are incredibly helpful.

So this was the first time that I’ve camped without electricity or water at the site. This campsite was great. There’s no service for like a few miles so make any last phone calls or text before you get to like route 32. It was clean, there was a good enough amount of space that we had. The camp host were great and very knowledge and helpful. This was the first time I went to a camp ground and there was a camp host and they really sent the bar for me. Lots of things to do near by. Trails, swimming holes fishing. I might come back so I can’t keep exploring around. Would highly recommend. PS. And we saw a moose!

Very nice, remote, and rustic campground. Easy access to hiking trails. The camping sites are well spaced. Most tent sites have a dirt/grass area away from gravel to set up. I was there in July and it was buggy. To be expected. Not much air circulation and it felt stagnant.

Been there several times recently, looking for a site. Unfortunately all are reserved. Guess you can go online and reserve it now, which is highly unfair to regulars that pop in for a night or two. All sites are empty but a little sign says someone reserved it for a few days from now, so if you want to stay longer you can't, you have to leave when person who made reservation arrives. I've been camping there since the 90s and never had a problem getting a site until the last couple of years. Put it back to first come first serve. Make it fair again. Besides you can pay another $5 and get a shower and lake too at a state park, so the price is too high. Used to love going to moosalamoo with my kids, would like to take my grandkids but that won't happen. Not with the current setup.

Haven't been since I was a kid about 25 years ago. Can't imagine it has gone down hill any. Was a nice little national forest campground back then.

This place is simply a gem. My spouse and I had left another campground after paying an arm and a leg for it and drove here without being able to reach them. It was 15$ a night to stay in the middle of the green mountains. If you need running water and a warm shower this place is not for you!!!! If you want to wake up in the middle of nowhere to the sound of birds however then come on down. The hiking trails are glorious and for experts only. I recommend walking to lana falls and doing some bushwacking there. We will deffinetly be returning.

Spent two days at this Campground recently. Beautiful mature Forrest. Secluded and quiet. I stayed at space 10. The table gets most of the space. Walking around I found space 3 and 14 are my favorites if I ever return. Bring lots of lamps. It's supper dark at night.
