It’s a good yard, I’ve been coming here since they opened. Thank you for not using a stupid “premium” section and just putting out everything. Also, the website is saved on my phones screen as an icon, I can quickly check inventory.
They offered $175 for my car and stated they would pick it up after I filled out their vehicle information request from to get the offer. I was completely transparent and honest about the vehicle's condition, yet they changed the price to $45 the day of pickup, 40 minutes before they were supposed to be here and stated they made a mistake. Then the driver gets here and calls them and they no longer want the vehicle at all.
I took the day off to be here for them and they completely wasted my time. The driver actually tried to spin it as me being dishonest which really irritated me. I pulled up the email and showed him I was completely transparent about exactly what the car was. This company is very unprofessional, inconsiderate, and unorganized.
They will elaborate a story saying that you aren’t allowed in their yard anymore and that they had to call the cops on you ( which never happened) with no evidence or proof of the incident on their end, yet, you aren’t welcome anymore. Got a friend that came with me and knows how everything went. Stay away from this business people or they’ll make a very harmful excuse to literally kick you out. If I could, I’ll give them no stars. Horrible environment! They don’t care about your business at all! They even told me that I can write a negative review because they can care less about it. So here you go!
Sad to say that I could get the same actuator part on Amazon for $3 more. I won’t be going back unless prices decrease. I wouldn’t recommend going and would look elsewhere instead.
I won’t be the first to say this and I won’t be the last but this place is definitely a rip off. They charged me $30 for a cluster basil. It’s like I know you got the entire car for $50. Stop scamming people.

Complete rip off. 20 bucks per hinge on a tailgate!? And they nickle and dime you for the wipers and the BLADE on it! 35 for some beat up taillights yiu can get on Amazon.... and they wouldn't help if they have a car pind in so you can't get to it.... or help caty something out the doors that arnt wide enough to get a tailgate through on the wheel barrels...
Prices are ridiculous I’m Going to stop coming here because prices are just insane. Like headlights are almost 50 bucks each. You guys are out of your mind. And tires 43 apiece come on I’m just gonna start going to the other junkyards
I can't share anything that hasn't been said before; Overpriced, don't waste your time, just get the parts new on eBay or go to the PAP on 17th street. Get your tires and components from an used tire place, as they will be cheaper by a lot. I would only come to this place to get: hard to get pieces or, because I have a lot of time on my hands that I'm desperate to waste.
So today I had a really bad experience at this place. I drove up an hour and was there at opening till 1:24. Got some parts and it total out to nine hundred dollars. I left a headlight and a couple of rods, they were charging way too much looking for anything they could upcharge for. Nothing new I know that’s what they do so my new total was 835. Dollars. I gave the lady my card she passed the machine to me so I could sign and all of a sudden she said her computer gave her a message saying it couldn’t verify my identity and didn’t print a receipt. The long blond hair dude laughed and asked if I had a different stolen card I could pay with. Haha very funny I thought to myself but it wasn’t funny at all. I logged on to my bank app and it showed 835. Charged. The girl at the counter said I’m sorry I will have to run your card again as it didn’t go thru on my end. I’m like no I can’t run it again for 835. I said you’ll have to call your mgr. She got on the phone with someone and came back and said this happens all the time the charges will fall off in the meantime if you want the parts you’ll have to run your card again or leave the parts. I called my bank to see if the transaction could be canceled and they told me no that it was showing 835. Charge anc I’d have to wait. So I turned to the girl and asked again for a mgr. At this point I wasn’t sure what to do so I showed her my bank app showing the 835. And told her I needed my items, a receipt or speak to a manager. She told me she was the manager and that if I took the car parts it would be considered theft and quickly removed a supercharger from my cart as if I was going to run out with it!!! She said she would call the cops on me treating me like a common criminal for a mistake on their end. She also told me if I didn’t like it I could leave the parts and go shop somewhere else. Talk about mind blowing. I’m not sure if it’s bad customer service or something else. Mind you my bank app still says minus 835. What to do? I frantically tried calling tear a part salt lake to see if someone could help since they are quite nice and they know me. Anyway the girl at the counter proceeded to call the cops on me as if I’m scared of them, I’m not illegal and I had done nothing wrong except be upset over this. I drove a long way wasted gas and half my day and I was going home empty handed and with an eight hundred and thirty five dollar deficit. And all they could tell me is the charge will drop off. So the two guys who were with her were getting aggressive telling me to leave and I overheard her calling the cops I told her you are calling the cops on me for a mistake you made? The kid with the long blond hair said you obviously are not leaving since I was listening to her call the cops on me. So I ended up leaving and headed to the other store to see if they could help me. They are so nice their they contacted the mgr and he wants to meet on Tuesday. I’ve been a long time customer of salt lake about four years I can’t believe this is the way I was treated in Ogden. On my way I received a phone call from the officer asking me to call him back which I did right away and explained what transpired. So now there is an official complaint on me saying I had a problem at this location again all because of them. So tell me how would any of you feel after this? How would you handle it? Was I wrong to be upset? I’m home replaying this on my mind wondering how I could handle this better.
All i can say is wow you guys are terrible 208.00 for 2 rear tail light assemblys 6 running light bulbs and sockets and a duel raido from Walmart with the adapter piece for my 2007 gmc sierra absolutely a waste of time planned on spending around 100 bucks but no they want to charge for every single piece when on there website it clearly states a radio for 25.00 and head light assembly 30 some odd dollars. Highly recommend not going their to expensive for rundown parts
Despite calling twice before driving over to confirm they would take my 1960 Chrysler unibody without title, I drove all the way up and then they told me I can't!!! It's a broken hunk of metal that has been abandoned in a field since 1962. DONT LISTEN TO OR TRUST THEIR IDIOT PEOPLE ON THE PHONE
Only bumper available that I needed was cracked in multiple places and missing mounting tabs. I said I would be interested if they could at least discount price. They would not come down 9n price so I passed. It'll end up just getting thrown away. Seems like a silly business model.
They will charge you $5.32 for an entire windshield motor assembly or door handle assembly but then when I go and hand them a literal piece of sun damaged plastic for a 20 year old car that I found in the mud that has broken clips, they want $20? Either the long haired blonde male employee put it in wrong or that’s asinine, especially for them to just throw it in the trash when I leave.
Got a tire there pulled it off the rim went to pay for it. 38 dollars. Victors tires are 45 mounted and balanced. Why are you price gouging for trash that you're going to throw away?
I have a mobile mechanic service and I’m based out of Texas. I came to Ogden to help out some friends who needed my services. I looked into some other parts facilities to get the parts that I needed, but none of them had them. So, I went to Tear A Parts.
I was greeted with the utmost respect and professionalism and explained the policies to me in great detail. I inquired about the parts that I was looking for, they entered them into their computer system, and gave me a printout of where and any related vehicles that might match the vehicle’s parts that I was interested in.
After paying my dollar, I entered the yard and felt as if I’d entered automotive heaven. There was all the necessary equipment to support an individual’s needs, such as remote engine hoists for major removals, wheelbarrows for minor to major pickups, ramps, and even tools that can make disassembly and removal easier.
I have told my friends about Tear A Part back in Texas and now I am coming back and forward to get parts for my clients.
They don't answer the phone and nowhere has holiday hours and closed holidays. I live 3 hours away, it is a long drive just to find out they're closed or don't have the part I'm looking for. Why have a phone if you never answer? And it seems to be a repeating issue based on other reviews.
It would be nice to actually talk to a person on the phone to ask questions. They need to identify the color of their car body parts. It would have saved us a lot of travel time. A photo of the car with the part would be a great idea too.
The hours are garbage, really closing at 4:30 everyday, even Saturday?! Literally no other yard closes that early. And the skinny girl that's like a team lead for the front counter or something. She sucks, that girl gets a power trip from ruining people's day. They confiscated a part from me when I was walking in I forgot was in my bag, left it at the front counter to get when I came back out, forgot it and got kicked out cuz it was 4:30, walked up literally as she finished locking the door and she wouldn't let me back in to grab my part that was laying on the ground 5ft away, said I had to come back in the morning, I couldn't, and 3 days later they had already thrown it away. That's one of multiple bad interactions I've had with that girl
Couldn't even get anyone to answer the phone after seeing they had two vehicles on the website of the make and model I needed. Just needed to find if they have a passenger mirror for me to take off them before making the trip. Waited 15mins being first in queue.
They will not answer the phone. I live a long way from the facility and do not want to drive down just to look. Sat on hold for about 45 minutes until they just hung up on me.
Update: thank you for your timely response. I moved My review up for that. But, your inventory page is well done and it is pretty easy to find the inventory and you have a nice parts list. For other issues a call is necessary and my thought is that if you do not I tend to answer the phone then don’t put your phone number in the web page.
I pulled the motor intending on replacing it but decided to buy another vehicle,the motor is in back of the truck and the rest of the components are in the cab. I need it out of my driveway ASAP. Waiting on an offer ,,
Had a bad experience here. Website doesn’t mention you can’t go back with sandals and I’m not sure why that is. I was wearing Tevas that are largely covered but do have some open spots. I couldn’t find anything on the website noting tany clothing requirementsi so people would be warned in advance and not find out after having driven an hour. . I figure if I get hurt while I’m taking stuff apart that’s my liability not theirs but maybe I’m wrong. If that’s the case I don’t understand why they don’t require everyone to wear eye protection as well. In any event, they suggested I go up the road to buy shoes while my som went to the lot to pull parts, which I did. I returned about 30 minutes later and they wouldn’t let me in despite my son bro g in the yard pulling parts because it was 3:32 and they stop allowing folks back at 3:30. I asked to speak to the manager and was told I’d have to call back the next day and leave a message and the manager might call me back but they are very busy. I left a vmail today with no call back. Very disappointing and poor customer service,
I have been reading some of the negative reviews here and i have to say a majority of them are UNJUSTIFIED, 1 guy said he could wear crocks into the yard, well DUH! its a total safety hazard to wear crocks to a junk yard!! Another complained they had to pay $1 to get in and yes! its always been that way!! i have been going to tear a part in SLC for 16 years and it has always been $1 to get in! its more than fair!! Someone said they charge for trim by the inch, IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THIS WAY!! it even states it on the website!!! another stated that he got there within 30 minutes to closing and they turned him away, IT SAYS THIS ON THIER WEBSITE!!! As far as the staff goes i would agree with some of them, they kind of are all over the place and they definitely do need some customer service training, it took me way to long to get in when i was the only one in line and way to long to check out when i was the only one in line. The staff gets distracted talking to each other and just stops helping you. So Management Please Train Your Staff Better!
As far as my experience here it was great! i went in just to browse and look and see if there was anything i wanted and they had my trunk and spoiler i have been looking for, for months!! i looked online for the prices before hand so i would not be shell shocked at the register and it matched up to what they sold it to me for! i paid for a trunk and a spoiler and was out the door! My only 2 issues were the staff was all over the place talking amongst themselves and not helping the customers or making them wait until they finished the conversations they were having. they do need more training for sure in customer service! The other issue i had was a car mislabeled, it was showing as a 2014 online and in the system but it was actually a 2003 not really sure how that happens but that needs to be addressed. other than that everything went great, the yard was clean and labeled properly. I will 100% be coming back to this yard!!
AMAZING!!! I used to go to pic a part is Ogden which is near this place, and let me let you the price differences and the professionalism of this place is a complete 180 from the other place, the service is amazing, good security with checking bags, and THE PRICES, so incredible, the seats are 40 bucks for electric front seats in a Audi a6, at the other place they wanted near 100 BUCKS! I got so many things for my car and for a good price, only complaint is that the cars are not in order so you have to spend some time looking around for the cars, they could also use more wheel barrels because they were all in use so I had to carry all the stuff, luckily is was plastic items so nothing heavy, overall a 9/10! Highly recommend!
Bought some tires and rims took them home and found out they were the wrong size. Took them back but would only refund money for the rims. Make sure you know the return policy so you don’t loose money like I did.
Nice place to get used parts. Easy to see from street with plenty of good parking. Friendly staff to help you. Unfortunately for me they did not have the part I was looking for.
