Just purchased a vehicle from this lot- online auction. Normally with Copart’s name, one should be able to trust the description when it says “minor damages” and pictures look pristine with no major damages. Well the car was delivered with windshield cracked and major mechanical and engine issues. Fighting with them about it. I don’t think I can trust any information they publish on their auction lots. I’ll avoid them in the future like the plague. - this lot at least.
I couldn't be happier with my experience. Even though I was always getting there right as they were closing (ridiculous traffic) they were quick and knowledgeable both times. Having my car totalled was already stressful but they were great with making the process simple even when I messed up with the title on my end. I put my full trust in them and they pulled through with getting the problem resolved FAST! I wish I'd caught some of their names with how grateful I am to them.
The most lazy and sketchy yard I have ever encountered. They sold me a car covered in dead mice, shit and piss everywhere, with no biohazard label or disclosure of any sort. Real nice lol. Anyone with eyes could see the big mouse nest in the trunk, which conveniently wasnt pictured, or how about the dead mouse fried on the exhaust? Stripping the interior was the first step. Found 3 nests, 5 mice. Now I get to spend the next however many months, or even years, restoring this lexus that is literally unhealthy to even be in all because you guys can't do your job by simply categorizing/labeling something correctly. Literally just be honest and find morals. 2nd time I've been burned by this lot too, stupid me, won't happen again. I have never had a single problem with any other auction yard, and I buy all over America. Great job being disgusting, Ogden Copart. #1 POS award goes out to yall!
Had a car towed here following an accident. When I went to collect my belongings most of it was missing and all the paperwork I had in my car was gone. My wreck sucked but not getting back a lot of my stuff was a lot worse. The worst part of my wreck has been trying to get back all the stuff that was removed from the vehicle and some of it is not replaceable so thanks for stealing my stuff!!!
Risky auction site. Not for rookies. If this is your first time then here are my tips:
1. Dont get a car that is donated. Engine and tranny most likely have issues. if you need body parts then go for it.
2. Runs and drives cars id check in person. They only turn it on move it forward and back several feet and call it a day. Go in person to see the vehicle. You can only see the vehicle day before the auction. not sure why.
I personally only go for vehicles with salvage certificates that have front side or rear damage and hail. That way you know theres nothing wrong with the transmission or engine. If it has less than 200k miles that is.
The fees after after auction win or buy it now are pretty high. they have gate fee, online bid fee etc. More than five im sure. thats due to them being a public company that has shares available for inverstors and a financial report every quarter that has to increase to make them happy. Meaning they will find ways to increase everything.
When using app on phone to sign in make sure to go inside and ask if your on the list. I signed in and waited in car for an hour. Turns out i wasnt checked in.
Also, the cost of the vehicle will be more if you pay with credit card vs cashiers check for the exact ammount.
Ive purchased several vehicles with low miles and front or rear damage and several motorcycles. Dont purchase as much as I used to. I think hard before I click to bid.

I just got a van at auction. It was handled by this yard. I called and talked to Jamie about pickup and title issues. She was amazingly helpful and very friendly. She turned an overwhelming situation into a piece of cake. She gave me numbers for local transport guys that she often worked with. I called one, and he took care of everything. Easy breezy! Thanks again Jamie!
I bought a car from them 3 months ago, tried buying another one and they took my deposit and suspended my account for a few weeks, soon as I got my account back I saw that they charged me $1000 worth of storage fees for a vehicle that I picked up on the same day I bought it. This company is a joke and preys on its customers. The team at the Ogden location was very rude and unhelpful and kept stressing they’re understaffed when any shortcomings were pointed out to them. Would not recommend getting affiliated with this company in any form and save yourself the headache.
Dishonest. Car was totaled and towed to Copart. I always kept $20 in change for emergencies in the arm rest. I went to clean out the car and Copart had everything put all papers minus the cash in an envelope. Sad this company would take advantage of someone on their worst day. No integrity do not trust them.
Check your storage fees!! Bought a unit and tried for days to get an appointment. Their excuse is that they only have 1 loader, but you will incur days of storage due to their incompetence. After my transporter picked up the car, they continued to charge storage day after day until I noticed it and complained. There is no general manager currently at this location, so the office manager helped out. The office manager is honestly pretty patient considering the mess that I’m sure she’s dealing with on a daily basis. She just defers all responsibility to their “corporate.” So, no change is likely to come with complaining at this level. They are absolute thieves, and completely unethical. Planning on filing a complaint with the MVED
Website says viewing hours are M-F 8-5. Not the case when you show up. Apparently now it is Only Monday and Friday, with limited hours. 9-11 I think on Monday and 9-4 on Friday. This doesn't make sense. Really need to be clear on the website with what your hours are so more people don't waste their time.
Ogden copart is so much easier to work with then copart magna there always on top everything supper fast and supper friendly never had to wait like I’ve had to wait at copart magna for more than 2 hours just to talk to some thank you copart Ogden
Wouldn’t give 1 star to if I could horrible customer service. This Appointment situation needs to be lifted. Cause they holding Customers vehicles to get storage fee from them, plus Drivers cannot get appointments anymore to pick up cars on time. Just literally now Manager said hers self that they book the spots so they’re Forklift guys able to do their jobs, when they can hire another one to do it. This need to stop with appointment thing. It’s not anymore COVid. As you can see it’s empty.
Bought a unit with totally different engine and trans than what was described. Not even the same fuel type, I was told it was my problem. I’d stay away I buy over 100 units a year from them but stay away from this yard. The GM Luke isn’t amenable at all.
Stole my hitch and my decked system that was $1,500 after my truck was totaled. I know they are a tow yard and I should expect them to be the absolute worst humans in the world, but this really stung that they stole my belongings after someone else wrecked my truck.
I was there to pick up a car and wanted to look at another one before purchasing. I didn't come during their brief extremely inconvenient viewing times. This didn't matter to them even though I traveled over and hour to get there and they recently changed their "rules" on when you can view. I was the only customer in the office and the only one there getting a car loaded they had plenty of help to show me/ direct me to the vehicle. Make sure you follow their ridiculous viewing procedures if you want to look at a car. Loader driver is awesome always helpful and happy to load he's the only positive thing about this Copart.
Even though I submit a request to get my personal items at 4:40, the system even allowed it and booked it, but they actually close the lot at 4:30. You would think the website would tell you. Live 40 minutes away and it's ridiculous to have to deal with
Both visits I have had to this copart location have been nothing but perfect. The staff was extremally nice, and one gentleman even offered to fully run through the entire buying process with me. We did just that, and I learned everything that I needed to know about buying a vehicle through copart. When I went and inspected a few cars, the guy who escorted me out was super helpful and provided all the details I needed and asked about. This location deserves 5 stars.
Oh my God, I just stop by ogden to pay for a car and people here in copart ogden are very knowledgeable and helpful. I am definitely will come and pay my cars at this location.
what difference between copart ogden and copart magna in magna they are jusy a joke, they are rude and unhelpful they take everythingfor granted.
I have had an awful experience so far. I bought a car marked “Runs and drives” and had it delivered to me. Upon initial inspection we found the car wouldn’t start because there was no compression in the engine. The car had previously thrown a timing belt and now is requiring a total engine replacement. There is no way it ran or drove at the yard. Tyler Gallagher has been zero help in getting this situation resolved. This is false advertising and totally ripping off customers. If this isn’t resolved this week I will be taking legal action.
I was able to go to the Ogden yard and preview the vehicle before I bid on it. The office staff were friendly and helpful, and within an hour of the acceptance of my bid I was able to take delivery of a vehicle. I am satisfied and expect to purchase from Copart Ogden again

When you but a car they make you sign a full release of liability for damage, and lemon cars.
"Where is, as is" which is fine,. But
When you get your car, it's alot more damaged then when you saw pictures, or looked at it
They throw them around with forklifts, like they are all scrap metal. Even when it's a $45k Mercedes Benz, that runs perfect. They damage everything.
Update: pickup went relatively well.
Frustrations: won't let a consumer drive a vehicle off the lot. They nickel and dime fees, they have double standards, they have some silly policies.
very bad service. I made a pickup appointment in the morning for 2.00pm. at 2.00 pm they deleted it and at the same minute I wanted to do another one but there were no more vacancies. I physically came at 4.00 pm and there was no one left to take cars, but he told me it was my fault that we couldn't do anything if there were no vacancies. how to make these places if the employees do nothing in the work schedule, the family members go through the office. and I have to go back. In this way Copart does not appreciate the partners' time at all.
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! We drove from saratoga springs over an hour and a half away, only to be told they stop loading at 4:30. When we called the day before driving up, then said you can pickup anytime during business hours, and never mentioned anything about any appointments. Extremely frustrating to have to leave work early, drive all the way up only to be turned away. Make 100% sure you are good to go before you come in or they will turn you away and be no help
Worst ever place of business. I was told multiple times I would receive a phone call 30mins-1hour before a tow truck driver would show up. I never received a call on four out of five times they came for my vehicle. The final time they had a tow truck come out, the driver supposedly couldn't find my house for over an hour and a half. He finally got worried he had the cops called on him because a police cruiser was looping around my block a few times, he then decided to call me. After all this. I have to say absolutely the worst customer service and communication I've ever experienced from a "business". If you're ever in need of a tow, and some how you end up on the phone with these folks. Hang up and dail another place.
Good car auction must be a member to look at cars for free. Membership is free. Only takes 2 to 4 days to get approved. Auction price + plus coparts fee + gate fee and sales tax. To get a car.
Very fast service. The lady up front was quick to help and very helpful and getting me where I needed to go. Mel out back was great when helping me load a car. I was very impressed.
Im not impress with this auction at all. Ladies at the counter they are not nice at all, manager is rude, a true reflection the type of business they run. I hope they get a training in customer service for the large lady upfront and management for the MR. Manager !
