Picked up a transmission for a 94 4Runner recently.
Great experience and always reassuring to work with people that really know what they’re doing and have that institutional knowledge
Trans is for my buddy and he has yet to install, so jury’s out on its condition but I’m confident Country Auto Salvage would help us out if something was wrong
Friendly people, clean wait room
These guys are awesome!! Donated time and resources to the local fire departments to train in life saving vehicle extrication training. Selfless. Thank you!
They refused to pay my wife and threatened her, she didn't get her check until a guy called them about it. The male employers comments made it very clear that he hates and disrespects women.
So I bought a motor from Brett and Jimmy got it installed my car runs amazing and I could not think them enough thank you so much guys I'm so happy to have my car running again
Don't trust these guys to give you a good engine! Asked for a good 2002 Pontiac Grand Am engine and got a 1999 with 199,000 plus miles on it. They gave me a $50 dollar discount for a broken timing chain cover. Come to fine out I had to use the timing chain cover, and both the lower and upper intake manifolds off the engine I was replacing. Then the thing smokes like crazy and has shoot pistol rings. What a joke!
Been waiting for my check for over 2 months. I called them 5 times, and every time they gave me a different excuse.
Very rude and disrespectful, threatened me to just leave my car somewhere on the highway so he doesnt have to pay me, then hung up on me. Very unprofessional.
If i could give negative stars, i would. I came in after doing a road trip from Colorado to Nevada. On the way home my car broke down and I had to get towed to the shop. At first they were super helpful they checked out my car then told me that the problem was so big that it was even worth fixing it. I know a little bit about cars so I knew that and decided to scrap it. They connected me with the scrap yard across the Street. The scrapyard told me they’d give me $250 for the car. As I said I know a bit about cars so I decided to takeoff the catalytic converter on the bottom because it is an expensive piece. But it’s not a heavy piece so it shouldn’t have affected the weight much. Meaning I would only get a little bit less. However the owners of Ellis’ here, went and told the salvage shop. And told them to offer me lower. And then they proceeded to only offer me $100. For a 2008 Prius in good condition. all original parts minus that ONE. the 2 ships were kahooting. i commented this on 10/26 AND THEY DELETED MY COMMENT.
WORST COMPANY EVER
and funny so many agree
Has a huge yard. Even a dealer for some new items as well. Ordered in a new Anderson hitch. Had a problem with the pin manufacturers fault non of their own. Got me a new part from other stock. Super happy and love my new hitch.
I ordered a transmission from this place. It was the lowest miles with the cheapest price that was local here in Utah. This place would be a two hour drive from my location and since Utah weather is so unpredictable during the winter months, I opted into paying an $85 fee to have the trans shipped to me. $85 was better then possibly getting snowed in in some small town. Anyway. I called and ordered the trans on 12/15/2020 and I said I’d like to pay for it to shipped, the guy said ok and took my payment info. He then told me that his shipments up to the city is set for that following Monday which would have been 12/21/2020. 😳😳🤦🏽♀️ I took a deep breath and said, ok - Monday it is.
* it only takes us a day (if that) to swap a trans in a car and when he told me that shipment was expected almost a week later I started to debate if the 4 hour drive to and from there would have been better. I decided to wait.
I was told by the guy that once the freight truck was set to come to the city, he would shoot me a text of the tracking so I could have a better idea on the arrival of the trans.
While waiting for this text and as time passed by until that Monday, naturally I’m looking for another trans that’s closer to me as a plan B in case something happens with this shipment.
Well, Monday 12/21/2020 comes along and no text, BUT I did find a trans that had even lower miles with an even cheaper price. I take it.
I call over to Country Auto and after finally getting a hold of the guy in placed my order with, he immediately interjects at the front of the call and says that there was some misunderstanding about the shipment and it actually wouldn’t be until that Wednesday. 😳🤦🏽♀️
Yeah, no.
I explain that I no longer want the trans and to cancel. He barks back and says, “it would have been nice to know before we did all the work in dismantling it from the car.”
I tell him, I don’t blame either of us.
1. Your shipping was a week out and even then, you changed it from Monday to Wednesday, which he says he initially told me Wednesday. No, he told me Monday and I schedule other car repairs according to Monday to make sure this trans swap was done ASAP since shipping was gone take almost a week.
2. Because there was such a time gap between time of order and expected shipping, I found a better trans. All consumers are looking to maximize profit and save where possible.
3. There is no way of me knowing I would find this trans before the one I ordered from them. They were the only ones at the time that had the trans I needed.
Only 4 stars on this one cause of the amount of time i had to request a refund. He was annoyed but so was I.
Someone did excellent work to disassemble the vehicles so that secondary components aren't wrecked. Makes it worth the drive to get here. Thanks! I'm a repeat customer that will continue to choose YOU!
Very knowledgeable and very helpful. Fair priced parts with honest descriptions of their condition. It's clear from the minute you pick up the phone that youre speaking to an expert. It's rare to find someone as good at fixing things as I am breaking them, so thank you Country Auto Salvage!
Do yourself a favor and buy a new part instead. I broke down in North Rim Grand Canyon and towed to Kanab. Got told a salvaged part would be guaranteed. None the less I tried to save money and had the salvaged part installed. It has leaked all summer and they would not help at all. Now two trips to a mechanic later and still leaks. I would have been better off buying new from the dealer. These people are snakes.
Nice guys. Very helpful and reasonable on the prices. Huge selection of cars at the yard. Found out they will deliver to shops up North along the Wasatch Front every Wednesday, too.
What great service. Called looking for a rear window, which they had and the fuse box. They pulled it off the old vehicle had it ready for me, super nice people. Definitely will do business there again
Awesome people. Great place to do business with! We have been buying from them for years and never have any issues. Would (and do) highly recommend them to others!
