Worst company ever. They will just snatch a vehicle from your driveway!!! People who do a business like this are horrible people to deal with!! Good luck to whoever else’s has to deal with these people.

These wonderful people towed our car away from our apartment complex, when we were parked in our lawful spot! No warning, nothing. These guys are nothing but scam artists looking to get a quick buck

What's the difference between this towing company and bandits? I parked my car right in front of my house. When I went out to drive it away, they towed it away. I stopped them and called the police. The police came, but they still didn't give my car back! What kind of world is this?

Getting towed for any reason is never fun however I found Shannon this past Saturday to be very kind, cheerful and accommodating recovering our vehicle. Thank you for making a painful process just a little less of a bad experience.

Unfortunate that our car got towed, but legacy towing was REALLY helpful, suggesting we file an appeal and walked us through how to do it. Wish I got her name, but the front desk lady was really upbeat and nice.

Wish I could give them less than 1 star. We parked by the Ace Hardware on 4th South to eat at the Sushi restaurant right there. Once we ate, we left to go up to the BYU/Utah game. Apparently in very small print, a sign says that if you park and leave your car will be towed. No one knows that until it is towed. This company was VERY predatory in their towing practices. Rather than put up more helpful signage - they are taking advantage and preying on people's lack of knowledge to earn their profits. When we got back to the parking lot - there was a whole group of people who had their cars towed. In fact, one guy had his car on the tow right there as he came up and they STILL charged him $110 for them to release it off the truck when it hadn't moved!! Another woman had a rental car that was towed with her medication in the car, and they would not let her get the car OR get her medication even though she could show her rental agreement and ID. This company WILL TOW you no matter what, and charge you $383 to pick up your car after hours - even if they tow you after hours. (2 hours in the lot means a full day charge - they are making BANK!). Don't park and walk anywhere that this company patrols or they will be unforgiving. If they cared at all, they would actually post large signs (not small print) that says "If you park and walk, you will be towed". Instead they are making so much money, why stop when they can legally steal it? I will never call Legacy Towing for ANY towing needs and I caution all Salt Lake City goers to choose somewhere else to frequent - because this company will ruin you if you frequent 400 S. businesses for any length of time.

Registration was 7 days expired. Got towed overnight on a week night. Had to call in to my job and miss a day of work. High tow fee ($306.00). The ladies in the office, however, we're very kind and friendly and did leave me feeling good vibes towards my fellow human beings. Can't say I "recommend" using this service because who wants their car towed while they're asleep? But, if your car's going to be towed, the ladies in the front office were the best part of the experience. Thanks for your humanity Cris and Teresa.

My car was towed due to my own lack of attention. As soon as I realized what happened, I contacted Legacy—spoke to one of the ladies at the front desk who, by the way, are absolute sweethearts—to let them know I would be picking up my car during my lunch break to avoid any additional charges. They were easy to communicate with and very reasonable. It always sucks to have your car towed, but I learned that clear communication—without passive aggression—goes a long way. When you stay calm, people are much more willing to work with you. This was only the second time in my life being towed, and it definitely taught me to pay closer attention. ⭐⭐⭐ — three stars for customer service.

The lady in the office was very friendly, I was already annoyed by my car being towed and having to pay a ridiculous amount of money. It's not like I have $500 laying around somewhere. But she was friendly enough to help me get my car and directed me with some useful information. She was able get me out of there less than 15 minutes.

They were great! I called gave them my info and were sending someone right over. When we have them do nightly checks in our paid parking at the Hyve there is never an issues with parking. It’s a night and day difference when they come through making sure people are supposed to park here. Without them coming through at night I’d drive around circling the parking lot trying to get a space in an area I pay to park. Sometimes I’d end up just parking on redwood, where the last time I did, my car was broken into. I swear this company is great. I’m excited for them to start coming back through at night!

It all began on a tuesday. It was a beautiful day, I thought nothing could possibly ruin it. How naive of me. We had GREAT plans for the night. I even put on eyeliner. We parked for less than ONE HOUR and by the time we were back the car was GONE. No warning, nothing. Then we called the given phone number over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Finally we just drove to the towing company and were immediately taken into a holding cell. They stripped us of all humanity. We had to take off all of our clothes to even be helped. No food, no water, for 6.5 hours. The cell was also 42 degrees. The service was abhorrent. It’s like thy didn’t even care that we had plans to eat tapas tonight. 2/10 do not recommend.

If I could review this towing company 0 stars, I'd give them the biggest one. This company is such a scam. Left my car out at a friend's place, my significant other went to put stuff into the trunk before coming back to get me, when we got out the house, my car had been towed. There are no clear signs at the townhouse that were indicating that there's going to be 'towing the car'. We called the place and it took them forever to answer the call. Took them fast enough to tow my car but not the phone?? Customer service was no help whatsoever. The person helping us was not that great either, assisted us with an attitude (with the audacity they have, pissed off about us being pissed off with our car being towed) and made fun of our friend's car who also got taken away as well. For the car being 'locked' up for no more than two hours, we get charged $381.00!! That is the most outrageous pricing to pick up a car, shouldn't even be that expensive in the first place. Asked them why it was so much and then proceeded to talk about the other 'fines' that were added. Stupidest thing ever ...

Would give no stars if I could. Someone really needs to look into how this business operates. It seems there is legitimate ways to tow unauthorized vehicles. Then there’s how these guys do it. No clear signage, not honoring an actual parking pass, and preying on religious gatherings. Having a vendetta towards certain religious groups is no way to handle yourself out in the world. The BBB and the SLC AG are getting a email for sure.

My girlfriend’s car got towed the day before Thanksgiving, which already sucks, but after I reach out to Legacy Towing, I was treated to an AI that gave me incorrect information. I was told I couldn’t pick up my car on Thanksgiving and was charged additional days for pickup. Even after I sent an appeal, they had the audacity to lie and say “we’ve looked at the AI call and you were told that picking up at business hours would be preferable, but you could pick up on Thanksgiving.” NO. IT. DID. NOT. Hate these people.

Be very careful when you this see towing company in your area. They use ambiguous verbage in all their tactics to tow your car. Even when they are in the wrong, they won't admit it. They'll tow it just because they will fill their dishonest coffers. They are the most dishonest tow company I have come across, especially when they break their own rules to tow your car. Someone should start a class action lawsuit against them! They are unlawfully targeting people!

We had such a great experience with Legacy. They responded so quickly when we needed help last night, no one wants a car to break down, and Todd was incredibly kind and professional. He got our vehicle taken care of quickly, and his staff is always helpful and easy to work with. Truly grateful for their fast service and genuine kindness.

It was hard to find because I guess they moved. Initially when I arrived the front desk lady seemed to prepare herself for hostility. But I had never been towed before and worried about rent was on my uber ride over and knew the papers were in the car. She let me go grab them from the car and made the process as easy as possible and I want to thank her for her kindness. I know that job must be hard and scary. This experience has been the pushing point of no available parking without any alternatives even remotely near my home. I had to ask the apartment complex next to us to let me park there all way in the back which they Graciously allowed (if I left them a good google review). My roommates have three cars and two of their own and a company utility vehicle for Enbridge energy. The driveway is already consistently blocked as well from the people next to us. So I parked in our guest parking to bring in groceries and forgot to move it to the apartment complex. The only street parking available is six cars worth that is always full for entire town home community. Some people in trucks will park on the other side of the street essentially parking on a pedestrian sidewalk, making it more unsafe for those walking. I understand wanting to maximize profits but at what cost if it means people who are the most vulnerable. The working class are having parking weaponized against them in a state that doesn't allow you to live without a vehicle. I would hope that tow companies are making sure that the places they patrol have ample available parking alternatives without repreicousions or at least going to city planners and leaders expressing this need. Not only would that help create understanding to towed car owners to be able to explain that idk 25% of parking near or in is open for overnight parking leading to less negative interactions to your own employees and create a more safe work environment.

I called after hours because someone was parked in a stall that I pay for monthly. Legacy was eager to assist and walked me through the process. I can't fault the driver for not being Johnny-on-the-spot seeing as it was, in fact, after hours. With that said it was a long wait. But they did eventually nab the spot hogger, which I appreciate. Thankful for their service to Canterbury Apartments

Me and my wife parked at Crown Burger in Salt Lake City for a Utah Jazz game. If you spend $35+ at the restaurant, they will give you a parking pass, allowing you to use their lot for free. We spent 35$, hung up our pass, and went to the game. We came back and our car was towed. Turns out, our pass had fallen, but it was still completely 100% visible from outside the car. Towed our car anyway and forced me to pay $400.

This company patrols parking lots but intentionally fails to post visible or clear signage. People generally follow rules when they know what those rules are. However, this business appears to operate as a scam — profiting from towing vehicles instead of providing fair notice or transparency. Their lack of visible signs seems deliberate, designed to trap drivers rather than inform them. In the photos is where I parked with not one sign in sight.

Real scum these people. Came and towed my truck out of my paid parking spot, I pay $45 every month to park there and it gets towed out of its own spot. Insane. I wonder if they get off knowing there job is to ruin someone’s day? When they finally pass and god ask them what they did in life. They will say, I drove around and stole peoples belongings. They didn’t help, try to do good. No they ruin multiple peoples days everyday. Sad how we have these people walking among us. I was working on my car at the time and had my e brake up so I guesss the just drug my tires across the ground to pull it out also.

Show up and try to get my vehicle out, they say that my vehicle is registered under someone else’s name I also have one of their so called parking permits hanging from my mirror yet still got towed! This place is a joke there are famine hygiene products on the floor and the staff doesn’t even know how to use their system. Best of luck to any of those who get their vehicle towed.

Let me start by saying this I got towed last night I didn’t even mind because I parked wrong soo I made in appointment for 1:30am I Uber it there no one was there I had to stop a driver he was a really good guy helped me out when I got to my car it’s e30 on bbs rims my tires in the back were low from the Tow so I was like OK I’ll just drive it to the gas station when I got there. I had a hole so I called someone. They said they’ll help me out. I called today and they basically said they couldn’t do nothing about it. It wasn’t their fault or nothing.

Extremely shady practices, my car got towed, the two women working were very aggressive and rude towards all of the people who came in no matter how polite they were. Any questions were responded to with the same line and they didn’t listen to what you were saying. They make you sign a form releasing them of liability for the damage they do to your car and stating that you received the refund policy and a copy of the Utah consumer bill of rights in regard to towing, none of which they will show you until you have signed. THEY REFUSE TO GIVE YOU BACK YOUR VEHICLE EVEN AFTER PAYING UNTIL YOU HAVE SIGNED THIS FRAUDULENT DOCUMENT. The refund policy is that there are no refunds. They charge the maximum allowable amount by the Utah government and tell you that the they don’t make the rates.

Parking enforced capriciously and sporadically at the private building where I live. No way to reach a live person by phone. No restrooms on premises. No Apple Pay/phone payment options. “Automatic” exit gate not working. Second time a friend was towed in two months. The first time we were able to reach a live person, and she did not explain that there would be an additional charge for using a credit card. I had to get someone else standing there to pay for me, and I Venmoed her bc they do not accept phone payment.

Yeah...a 5 star review on a towing company. Hear me out... Getting towed sucks. It was our mistake. My elderly mother parked in the wrong spot while caring for my sister who is dealing with a difficult medical situation, and her car was towed by Legacy. The $307 fee stung, especially in the middle of a tough time for our family, and at first I was pretty frustrated. But when I went to pick up the car, the Shiloh treated me with genuine kindness and compassion. Even though they didn’t owe us anything, she & Todd offered an accommodation that really helped my mom. I may not love their fee, but I respect the professionalism and humanity they showed us. Honestly, if I had to deal with the amount of crap that they do, I'd probably try to charge more. Thank you for your compassion in a stressful moment.

The signage posted does not meet the legal requirements outlined in Utah Code Section 72-9-603. While the signs that are required are the correct size, format, and color mostly, there is another sign at the top. The section clearly states the blue sign must be at the top and the red/white sign under. Also, the logo is required to have a full depiction of an entire car being towed by an entire tow truck with a clear depiction of a hook. The sign does NOT have a clear hook. Rather, it looks like an L bracket at best. They also reported removing the vehicle from a different area from where it was actually parked. I have not yet gone to retrieve my stolen property nor have I paid the $307 extortion fee. Which, I will update how that process goes once its been completed.

Con artists. I wasn’t gone more than 20 mins at an apartment complex in downtown SLC and my car was towed. I called the # on the sign while thinking it had been stolen but checking the tow co anyways and the lady on the phone (Ariel) was absolutely rude and disrespectful. She stated it would be $380 to get my car back. I said the sign says $145 and she yelled, “Well ALL the signs are wrong!” She said the longer they keep the car the higher the fee. I had to take the bus to get there before they closed at midnight. I had to use rent money to get it out so that I can still make it to work so that I can still pay bills. This place is an absolute sham running a con on every single person they’ve preyed on. Also, the sign says “Slickrock towing” and when you call they’re “Legacy towing”. 4188 s 300 w, Murray UT. This is absolutely criminal!! Also, they charge an additional $75?fee for picking up after hours - when you towed it after hours! I was there within a two hour window of them towing it. Likely have scouts earning a few to call your car in.

Literally left for 30 minutes and my car was gone. Literally no signs except one in the dark by some trees covered in paint. Went to Harmon's to check something out. Not from around that area and they wanted me to come in the next day so it'd be "cheaper". Of course I said absolutely not and came immediately in. Paperwork said they towed my car within 10 minutes of me leaving it and charged for a whole day for holding my car in their lot. It costed $381 bucks because it was "after hours".

Legacy towing is towing 2-3 cars right here when there is a line to the left and a line to the right, there is no parking paint in other areas but not here, there is no red paint or anything indicating you can’t park there, been taking pictures of multiple cars parked there being towed, this is a scam and apartment complex refuses to do anything and legacy towing still thinks they are in the right, got my dad and his friend who are the best lawyers in the state of Utah involved and taking this to the court house. They are charging people almost $400 to get there car out. This is a large scam, taking pictures of the cars and license plates to show which cars got scammed and towed and collecting evidence.
