Great food. I had the steak and eggs Sunday brunch. The dining room was very noisy so I rated atmosphere 4/5, but loved the setting and ride up there.

Amazing food and atmosphere! Went on a double date here and the food was amazing from the homemade pita, the creamy pesto, the french dip and the new York steak, to the delicious double trouble (cheesecake with a crust of carrot cake). Our server McKenzie was so attentive and kind. We will definitely be back and will recommend this place to friends as well!

Went there last night for date night out and was not disappointed. The atmosphere was great and the food was even better. We had the clam chowder & halibut sandwich wrapped in pita bread along with a salmon salad with the feta vinaigrette and both were delicious. We grabbed the carrot cake to go and ate most of it on the way home. The piece was huge! Next time the cheesecake is on our radar. Great place to go anytime. We definitely will come back again and again and again……..!

Tucked away off the highway. We stopped for lunch but Taggert’s has Sunday Brunch too. Food was delicious. I had a Chicken Cobb Sandwich on their homemade pita bread. So so yummy. Oooh plus a cup of the Chicken Artichoke soup! So creamy and good. Husband had chicken and waffles and ate every bite of it. Service from McKenzie was top-notch. Rustic and warm inside. People were flocking in. We got there not long after open so we didn’t have to wait long. Your eyes won’t believe the desserts they have right as you walk in. We bought two of their huge cookies to take with us on the road. Awesome lunch stop

I've been to taggarts many times before and for many occasions and I have always felt welcomed and excited to visit again. This visit was so different. After hyping up taggarts to my inlaws for months in advance, we were met with the worst service I've ever experienced anywhere. After waiting an hour and a half to be seated we were IGNORED by wait staff for an additional 30 minutes. In that time, 3 other groups larger than ours were seated after us and all got near immediate service while we sat and waited. We tried multiple times to flag down service or get somebody's attention and multiple waiters stormed past us and avoided our gazes. When we did finally get somebody's attention and said "we haven't been helped yet", all he said was "oh got it." And stormed off again. We waited another 15 minutes before a server* came to take our orders (* she had a piece of tape on her chest with her name written in crayon on it so.....idk if she was even supposed to be serving). Don't get me wrong, the food was still absolutely stunningly good, everything cooked to perfection! But good food does not make up for the embarrassment I felt by the service. The staff were outright rude. I hyped this dinner up for so long and was absolutely ashamed to stay and see it through. I don't know if I'll ever go back again. My loyalty to one restaurant isn't everything, but I can't justify submitting my family to this kind of hurtful disrespect.

We went Taggarts and enjoyed sitting on the enclosed patio. It was cold outside but they enclosed it making it a very nice atmosphere. The food was really good. We ordered the pot roast and salmon. Our waitress was great. We will be back!

I love this little secret place. In the middle of a breath taking canyon. Nothing but you and the fresh air and this busy restaurant. You can always count on a wait because they are almost always packed so call first. Don't forget the pita bread and dip appetizers. Or the specialty chese cake on your way out! They make it fresh every day and have like 45 different flavors. Plus it's very good chese cake! We stop everything we travel to the city but be ware. They are closed on Mondays :( .

Such a cute little spot hidden away in the mountains. Food and service were good. Food came out pretty fast.

Headed up the canyon for a Sunday lunch and it’s well worth the drive! Our server Chris was fantastic and was hustling his butt off the whole time. I had the BLT and it was delicious. The bacon was perfectly cooked, lots of fresh tomato on it, and the greens were crisp with also some added mushrooms, and the mayo must have been seasoned with something. We will definitely be driving back again soon.

My husband took me to Taggart’s for my birthday, and it was our first time dining there. We were seated right away on the covered, heated patio, which was quiet and comfortable—perfect for conversation. I ordered the prime rib with au gratin potatoes, bacon-wrapped asparagus, and a salad, and my husband had the fish and chips. Both meals were excellent. Every bite had us saying, “Wow, so good.” We will definitely be going back!

Have been here a few times for brunch and always had a great experience. Unfortunately the dinner service I experienced 29 Nov was very disappointing. My wife and I both ordered the nearly $40 prime rib dinner and both of them came out very cold. Not normal cold but like they had been in a fridge. I informed our server and she took them off our plates and about 10 mins later brought them back out sub warm. We ate a little bit of them but they lacked flavor and still kind of cold. During this whole experience not once did a manager come out to apologize or say anything. It was like nothing happened. We sat eating potatoes and asparagus waiting on our fridge prime rib to come back to us for 10 mins and not a word was said. We even had to pay full price for both dinners and deserts. It’s not even about the money… it’s about serving your guests cold food and not even coming out to apologize or address the issue. Needless to say we will not be returning if this is how an establishment treats their guests.

A true mountain gem! From the moment you pull up to Taggart’s Grill, you’re welcomed by vibrant peacocks and the stunning natural scenery that surrounds the property. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and instantly inviting. Every dish is delicious, hearty, and clearly made with care. The staff are friendly, upbeat, and you can genuinely tell they love what they do. And the desserts—wow. Each treat is baked on-site and absolutely mouthwatering, with no shortage of tempting cakes and goodies to choose from. I highly recommend stopping by, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Soup - creamy chicken mushroom artichoke & black bean - so creamy and flavorful no salt or pepper needed. We shared a variety of food but, the soup was the star of our meal. The pesto ranch dressing was very delicious also. So many dessert options. We chose the turtle cheesecake. Our server Jon was friendly and attentive. There were wild peacocks roaming the grounds. So beautiful.

This is our favorite restaurant. We've been coming here for years, and still come regularly after moving 45 miles away. The Spinach Enchiladas are perfect (and I'm not a vegetarian)

This wonderful restaurant is a must any time I visit Utah! The menu has something for everyone. The food is deliciously prepared. And the desserts are amazing. At this visit I had the pot roast, which was like Mom’s Sunday dinner-melt in your mouth delicious. The rosemary dinner roll (the size of a softball) was the perfect accompaniment. The peanut butter cheesecake did not disappoint. I have enjoyed great service each time I’ve dined here. Honestly, the portions are really quite generous and very reasonably priced. And what’s not to love about watching the beautiful peacocks 🦚 while enjoying a lovely meal? Highly recommend!

My wife and I have made this place our go to date night. They have delicious food at reasonable prices for the quality and yummy desserts. My favorite menu options are; prime rib, cheese sticks, French dip, burgers, chicken enchiladas, fish and chips, and carrot cake. The service is usually really good with the rare exception of getting someone that is too busy to manage drink refills quickly enough. My only complaint is the low quality patio tables, they are uncomfortable and not high enough for a taller person, it’s easy to bang a leg and feel cramped. Ask to sit inside the main building if you are taller. They also cram the tables in too tightly making it feel like a cafeteria room instead of private dining experience. The peacocks and deer outside the windows are pretty cool though and the over all vibe of the place is fun.

Such a cute restaurant in such a random location! The halibut was SO good and my husband liked his burger a lot too. The banana cookie was fine it was banana bread with almond frosting. The pink cookie was good! Same frosting and the moms chocolate cake I did not like at all

Taggat's is super popular, and it's no wonder why! Excellent food, great service, that is 100% dialed, and great vibes. Never disappoints. Expect a decently long wait, especially during peak hours. This place is nearly always packed, so prepare accordingly. Worth the wait, though. And definitely get the carrot cake. Yes, it's really that good.

We always enjoy coming here a few times a year. The atmosphere is only the best. We love the peacock visits. Anything we have ordered has been excellent. Recently I ordered the fish and chips, which was cooked to perfection and so delicious. My wife ordered the prime rib sandwich. I had tried this previously and suggested she give it a try. She loved it. We usually get a dessert as we are leaving. The dessert case is located just where you are leaving and I think we had a delicious carrot cake the last time. They are all tasty! The staff is very attentive. Part of the experience is the beautiful drive up the canyon. It really completes the dinner. Return visit 09/08/2021 Enjoyed onion rings, deep fried mushrooms, pita BLT, deep fried shrimp and salmon, which was cooked to perfection. The carrot cake was excellent. As you can see, I had to hurry and take the photos before everything was eaten Return visit 05/28/2022 Once again enjoyed the Salmon dinner with their rum teriyaki sauce and it did not disappoint. The bread is out of this world delicious. The rest of the party had prime rib and it wasn’t quite as tasty as our previous visit. Return visit 08/16/2025 One of my many birthday dinners celebrated here. Again, I had the salmon with au gratin potatoes and asparagus spears. I’d been craving it for the last week. My daughter in law and my son ate with us and this morning she delivered a granddaughter. A bit noisy in the room where we dined. I much prefer the window seats.

Absolutely fantastic food and stellar atmosphere. The staff was very friendly but the service can take a while, which was fine because we just sat and watched peacocks wander around while we waited. Always a fun stop and a good drive through the canyon.

We got the chicken enchilada, and Fish and chips. Chicken enchilada had a lot of chicken in it. The white sauce was a really good compliment. I would recommend adding jalapeños if you like a little more heat. My wife is kind of a fish and chips snob and she liked their FC - it was more fish than battered which she likes - would come here again

Popped in with a couple of friends. Not far from the road to Ogden, it was well worth the stop. Prices were good for good quality food. Great selection of options and there was plenty of food, so much each of us took some back with us. Deserts were very good. Infact I am not from the USA and was pleasantly surprised by the taste when so many other deserts are just not up to scratch. Bonus were the deer that walk by and watched us by the window. As the Terminator says "I'll be back"

The location is spectacular and the food is very tasty. We had a good experience, the service could have been better, in regards to checking on us and refills. It was pretty busy, so that was understandable. We were able to see the deer feeding right outside, too, which my son loved.

Excellent food, portions are big and we appreciated that after a long day of skiing. Don’t skip the dessert. It’s made in house and it’s lights out good.

First time eating here and I really enjoyed it! The wait was super quick for a Friday night and we were seated almost immediately. The food is very good and make sure to get their french fries! I had a bacon cheeseburger and I was very happy with my choice. Afterward we tried their desserts. The pink sugar cookie was a little dry for me but I really liked the German chocolate brownie.

Loved the atmosphere, service, and food. First time for us eating there. The waiter and hostess were kind enough to move us to the back room with the beautiful view of their backyard. Greeted by the Peacock was another beautiful experience. My husband and I ordered the apricot jalapeno burger. Honestly, it was the best jalapeno burger in Utah. The flavors complimented each other. Highly recommend if you haven't been.

Busy day with about a 40 minute wait. Went fast. Once seated, greeted right away. Server was very friendly, but with it being busy was not able to make regular check-ins. We ordered mozzarella sticks and onion rings. Mozzarella sticks were cheesy melty goodness with marinara, onion rings were crispy and yum. Ordered the chicken strips platter with fries and side salad. Strips were hot and crispy and the sweet/hot dip was fantastic. Nice front of mouth warmth that settles quickly. Next was the halibut platter. Flaky fish with light, crispy batter. Had side salad and fries. Last is garlic blue burger with added bacon. Burger was tender and the garlic tasted like it was roasted to make it sweet. Not over powering of burger. Can’t try this place without hitting dessert, or two… or maybe three. We had carrot cake, double trouble cheesecake, and pink frosted cookie. The carrot cake was out-of-this-world delicious. Moist, tender, lots of shredded carrot. Perfect. Frosted cookie was very pleasant. Dilectible and delicious. Baked perfectly with golden bottom. The frosting was a great complement. A hint of vanilla and very smooth. Double trouble cheesecake/carrot cake was also great. Topped with whipped cream and toasted coconut. It made for difficult decisions for what bite to take next.

DISAPPOINTED!!! I've wanted to stop here for years, I finally did today. I ordered the "beer battered rings". They arrived and immediately I could tell they where frozen and not fresh. I ordered the double bacon cheese burger. Bun was amazing, veggies where amazing it looked delish.... But the beef? Low grade frozen patties that taste like they where made last year. The nasty taste of the beef totally ruined the rest of the meal. And finally... Since I was still hungry I order some carrot cake. It came out pretty much frozen and hard. Who knows when it was made. I brought my concerns to the manager..... And she seemed to care less. She did tho confirm the rings and beef where indeed frozen and NOT FRESH! For a local small business.... This place needs to step up the food quality, I couldn't even finish anything I ordered due to the low quality, Including the cake . I will say, a perfect score for the atmosphere. Say outside on the back patio and it was super nice.

Quality and Flavor!!! If u r heading either way on I 84, make it a point to stop here! Although literally adjacent to the freeway both the indoor and enclosed patio seating was pleasant and snuggled up against the mountain and lower than the freeway. U barely even notice the freeway once u r there. The two peacocks strutting about add to the ambiance. I was there on a Sunday morning at about 11:30 am and even though the place was bumping, the server (John) approached the table within minutes, was knowledgeable about menu items and was a real plus to the entire experience. Adequately staffed - another plus! They pride themselves in homemade just about everything and source most foods locally. The taste and freshness was spot on! I had the chicken mushroom soup ($3.99 cup). It was delicious, creamy and lots of chicken. Followed by the smoked salmon salad ($17.99). The only thing I needed was a bit more feta crumbles, it was in the dressing which they make, but oddly they didn’t have any on the side. I’m not a big dressing fan so had to scoop the feta out of the dressing for my salad. That aside, it was a great salad! In my opinion, the food was reasonably priced compared to eating out in general these days. If u stick to your main meal - about $25 drinking just water. Deserts: They r known for their carrot cake ($8.99) and have a wonderful display as you walk in - I spent another $22 on the carrot cake, German chocolate cheesecake ($8.99) and a chocolate macaroon ($3.99) - to take home. All were very sweet and rich. The carrot cake was moist - I preferred it without the frosting, but I don’t like frosting in general. The cheesecake selection was huge - think “almost Cheesecake Factory” variety and all dolled up on top. So my German chocolate cheesecake was chocolate cheesecake with German chocolate frosting on top drizzled with more chocolate on a chocolate crust. Again, very sweet and rich - delicious no doubt but also too sweet for me - next time I’ll get a plain one - if u love cheesecake, u won’t b disappointed! The macaroon, hinging on the sweet side as well, next time I’ll get the plain. Lots of parking - but the sign about not parking on the county road is confusing - which one is the county road anyway??? For parties under 8 people can call ahead up to 30 min but won’t be seated u til everyone arrives. Only one toilet per gender - ladies, if they r busy u will likely have to wait. All in all - defiantly worth the stop, or even to go out of your way to eat here!

This is a comfortable place to eat within a small town in a picturesque landscape. The food is average, but so are the prices. My wife and I drove an hour to try Taggart’s grill because it came as highly recommended. I suggest that you temper your expectations and see for yourself. For an appetizer we had the Artichoke dip with pita bread and tortilla chips. $10.99. The dip was great, but the tortilla chips weren’t-they were a generic store bought brand. The pita bread likewise was not impressive. My wife had the Chicken enchilada with black beans and Spanish rice. 15.99. She wasn’t impressed. I had the Garlic Blue Cheese burger with fries. I liked my entree, and felt the fries were pretty good. $13.99. Considering everything I feel Taggart’s has average food nestled in a beautiful location. The scenic drive there is beautiful.
