Appreciate the quick diagnosis and repair of a bad wheel bearing on our Subaru Outback. Thanks Kirb and the rest of your gang!

I was lucky enough to get an oil change same day. Kirby and Mike and their team were helpful and proactive to get my vehicle taken care of and back on the road. I highly recommend Bryce Canyon Auto Care. And while you wait there are many places to eat and look around.

I'm on the fence about writing this review.
My engine splash shield got knocked loose during a road trip and I brought it in for emergency repairs. I was only staying in Bryce Canyon for a few days and they were able to fit me in as soon as they opened. They were busy, so the repair took about 6 hours.
The work was good, the price was reasonable. No worries there.
However, when I left the shop, my check engine and tire indicator lights were on and nobody mentioned anything. I went back to ask what was going on and they quickly hooked up my car for diagnostics.
After a few minutes, they told me that one of my ignition coils had gone bad and was causing an engine overheat. It was 100 degrees out and my car was not safe to drive.
It was a Friday and I was scheduled to leave that afternoon.
The tech told me there was nothing they could do. He said they couldn't get the part and nobody else in town would be able to fix it. They never looked at the tire sensor.
With the Grand Canyon fires and a marathon over the weekend, I was panicked & stranded with no place to stay.
Luckilly, the part was commonly available at any auto parts store and I was able to find another mechanic 20 miles away in Panguitch. He got me back on the road in a few hours.
I understand Bryce Canyon Auto Care Center isn't responsible for everything that goes wrong on somebody's car, but it would have been nice if they'd let me know right away that I had a serious engine concern or offered to help when I initially brought my car in.
The shield repair was fine. I'm just disappointed they weren't more helpful with the secondary problem. I didn't love the idea of breaking down in the middle of nowhere or getting stuck in an overcrowded national park. It would have been a lot less stressful if they'd given me some local repair options.
I ended up calling every repair shop in 30 miles, which is awesome from a tent with bad phone signal.
I was able to leave the park, on time, with a $500 repair bill.
They fixed the problem that was presented, but that's it.
Of all the repair shops in South-Central Utah, Bryce Canyon Auto Care Center is certainly one of them.Jul 18, 2025 -

Kirb and the whole staff were amazing! They are the kindest individuals I’ve met in a while. Helped me right away while traveling through!

Thank you Kirby. Your diagnostics and easy fix of checking the fuses worked! I made it all the way to my destination with no codes and no issues. You made my day!!!

We had an issue with our car and Kirb saved the day. He is knowledgeable, helpful and brings decades of experience. Things were resolved quickly, so we could continue our trip after just a short while. Top notch service, I rate this 6 out of 5 stars. Kirb is the man!

Mike was helpful getting a service for my Silverado and answering questions about my trailer brake system.
For travelers, it's great that they run the shop as a first come, first served appointment program.
I observed small cars and large RVs being worked on...Sep 24, 2024 -
Called to get a quote on tires, said I had to come in so they can check the size, I told him I knew the size and he said we'll bring it by and we can check
Useless I assume they want to trap you there and charge an absurd amount of money.Aug 19, 2024 -
Wasted my whole day. Simple repair. Wheel studs. Told me it'll be a few hours (12pm) before they could get to me. 130pm rolls around car hasn't moved. Asked why, he said he doesn't normally work on SAABs. Any mechanic worth anything knows the 97x and the trailblazer are mechanical identical. He said he didn't have the parts and would take two days. I called NAPA one town over (20 min drive) and they had the part and many of them. If you didn't want to work on my vehicle, then we did you waste a total of 4 hours of my time when I could have been looking somewhere else. Went to a different mechanic (the one next to napa) and I was on the road again within the hour.

We were staying at Ruby's RV Park across the street. Found one tire going flat and called to see if they could look at it. "Yes, drive it over and we'll look at it." Service guy fixed the nail in the flat tire and rotated to inside tire position. Upon changing positions, found 2nd tire had a chunk missing!! So thankful to have 2nd tire replaced while at the shop. All within 45 minutes.
Great friendly fast service!Jun 20, 2024 -
I completely understand working in a travel destination can be wearing, but I spoke with them about some work needed on my car and their demeanor in and of itself was enough for me to decide to drive to cedar city. At no point did I get the feeling that they were knowledgeable, or interested in their job. Not saying they weren’t but they weren’t willing to put any effort into making it seem like they might be. So I wasn’t about to chance it. There is a mobile car tech that is raved about in the area, if you need services I would look him up first!!

We have a 2011 Ford F250 that was blowing black smoke in excess after a few long days towing our fifth wheel. Initially we thought it was just needing a fuel filter but ended up needing a new throttle intake hose. Both were replaced in a couple of days.
Mac is the best - he's very knowledgeable and does a great job explaining things in layman terms.
She's driving much better now, and we're ready to get back on the road. Thank you Mac!Apr 18, 2024 -
Called on a Wednesday to ask about oil change for RV and generator plus RV chassis lube, was told no problem come in Friday afternoon and they would order the Mobil 1 oil I like and have it there. We are full time RVers and my wife works from the RV so come Friday my wife takes off and we get everything ready the drive from Tropic to the Bryce service place. We get there a bit before 12:30 and see we will have to wait until they get back from lunch at 1pm. I wash the RV while waiting at 1pm I go back to the desk and a man tells me there is no way they can do the work today and that the man I talked to was off today so they are short handed. He also said that they were taking off at 2pm instead of 4pm which is what I was told.
DO NOT do business with these people.Sep 08, 2023 -
I needed an oil change when passing through on a long trip.
$110 for 8 quarts of synthetic and filter, which is expensive but hey, it's a tourist town.
Unfortunately they did a very sloppy job. I drove back to my camp site and saw oil dripping from the truck. The entire pan was covered in oil, there was oil spilled all over the exhaust that was burning off, just a mess. I cleaned everything up, and the next day there's oil leaking from the filter. The filter was tight enough, so I figured it was just some residue from the mess they made. 1000 miles later, it's still leaking, so I guess I have to pull the filter off and re-do it right myself. I bet there's a double gasket or dirt on the seal. On top of all that, they left a big greasy hand print on my door.
I was doing a higher quality oil change when I was in high school, for a lot less money too.Aug 12, 2023 -
Stopped there because our battery was dying, Mac tested it and found it was on its last legs which I suspected since it was at least 4 years old, he had it replaced in less than 20 minutes. Very friendly guy I'm so glad we stopped there...

Great service and friendly staff! They plugged a good size hole in my tire for $30 pretty quickly!! If you need a quick fix these folks will take care of you!

Fast friendly fair! They don’t take appointments, but they gave me a very accurate time how long it would take. easy to get in and out of right off Highway 12. Plenty of shops to kill time in right next door and across the street.

I came here to get a tire leak addressed. I was in and out in maybe 20 minutes and $30 later. Very friendly, can-do staff.

We had our check engine light come on and the mechanic hooked up his computer to diagnose for us. Gave us piece of mind for our return trip. Really appreciate their help and excellent service.

I had a bad coolant leak on my converted 2007 Bluebird School bus. I stopped into this Auto Care shop and Mark was able to figure out where the leak was coming from (it was hard to tell) and first thing the next morning he had it fixed within 1/2 hour. I was charged a fair price and Mark was very professional. He also showed me a few more feature about my bus. It was great to know they have a mechanic who works on the Bryce Canyon buses because it's not always easy to find a mechanic who can work on a school bus.

When you travel in an RV and you have electrical problems you are at the repair shops mercy. We pulled into Bryce Auto Repair with our fridge in meltdown and two dead batteries. Kirb came to our rescue, installed new excellent batteries and had us on our way in 20 minutes at an extremely fair price!!! My only regret is that I don’t live closer. They would be my go to repair shop!!!
Happy Camper & Customer Chuck!!!!May 26, 2023 -
Kirby and Nate were awesome! Needed to get my car jumped while staying at the Ruby’s campsite, and they got my car running back to life with a little patience. We got back home safely and my car hasn’t had any issues starting up since then. Thank you Kirb and Nate, you guys are awesome!

Had a leaky rear tire on a rental car...took us in right away and fixed the leak which turned out to be a staple in the tire. Price was very reasonable and service was excellent and quick...THANKS !

They told me to bring my vehicle in but once I did they were extremely unhelpful. They didn’t have much to tell me I didn’t already know and were not willing to test further since they were “already pretty booked up” even though they told me to come it? Overall I would only go here if you have to, which is why I did. They’re the only place around.

My husband and I had a wonder experience here at Bryce Canyon Auto care. Kirb, Mac and the rest of the crew went above and beyond. Not only did they help us get our tires changed, they made sure we were out and back on the road in no time! 10/10

My rental car died in the Bryce Canyon visitors center. Bryce Canyon Auto Care and Mac was able to replace the battery and get us back on the trails in under an hour.

Unfortunately wasn’t too happy with the work we received. Our car was overheating and we just barely pulled into Bryce Canyon for our stay there. We visited them on a Thursday and the gave us a diagnostic of the issue and we’re super friendly and efficient. I made the mistake of not follow their suggestion and going through with the repair and ended up having to wait a couple extra days for them to be able to do it. Everything was perfect up to the day we brought the car in. We arrived 8 minutes after opening to have our thermostat and temperature sender replaced. It seemed that there was a miscommunication between the mechanic we talked to and the mechanic that was doing our repair because he had only replaced our thermostat and then called saying that he was unaware that a temp. sender was ordered and was in the list to be repaired and asked if we wished to also have it replaced. He informed me that the thermostat wasn’t fixing the whole issue so he had to ask for our permission and this was after a total of 5 hours after we dropped off the car. Granted a whole weekend had passed so I’m not going to blame the mechanic for missing that information. Unfortunately we didn’t pick the car up until 15 minutes before close and we are on a road trip so we were unable to go anywhere being that the car is our transportation/home. When we picked up the car the mechanic that did our work said it only took and hour of work meaning that the car was sitting majority of the time we had been waiting. Even with them replacing those parts they didn’t fix our issue because it seemed all they did was a baseline diagnostic check and didn’t care to go above and beyond to fix our issue. They were very friendly but not great at communicating. I would recommend them for light repairs but they don’t seem to want go in and make sure that all possibilities are covered.

My rental car had a slow leak in one of the tires. I stopped by this mechanic first thing in the morning when they opened and they were able to patch the leak quickly and effectively. I also thought that the price was reasonable considering that this is in a tourist town and there are no other mechanics nearby. I was able to continue my Bryce Canyon National Park trip with peace of mind that the leak was fixed.
