This place is great! Went in on a Saturday to drop off some cans and met this nice guy named Randy it was super busy so there was a line but he sat and chatted with me and made it so I forgot I was even waiting. He helped me unload my stuff and got me in and out quickly. everyone there was awesome and I look forward to my next visit.

Greg was very helpful and patient with me. 10/10 will use this guys again. - Would like to point out the irony of the pay window NOT having a recycle can. Made me laugh.

Clearfield Recycling is our go-to for recycling aluminum cans, scrap metal, and now even batteries and electronics. Greg and Kyle are always friendly and the staff does a good job of keeping operations as tidy as possible.

Extremely dishonest. I took 70 lbs of aluminum. 10 lbs in cans, the rest in heavy plate, solid block, and a few pans. While I gathered brass and copper from my truck they weighed and assessed my aluminum then dumped it in a bin before I could supervise. They found one steel bolt on a pan and deemed the entire 60 lbs of non cans to be dirty so I got 8 cents/lb instead of 58 for it. When I challenged them they said they had already dumped it all in the bin and couldn't say what part of my load was clean. Screwed me out of $35 in their deliberate practice of rushing to find steel and dump it before I could verify their assessment. Rude indeed.

I recently had the opportunity to work with Kyle and Zac at Clearfield Recycling while recycling my street bike, and I couldn’t be more impressed with their service. Both of them were exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous throughout the entire process. From the moment I arrived, Kyle and Zac went out of their way to ensure everything went smoothly. They explained the steps clearly, assisted with unloading, and answered all my questions with patience and professionalism. It’s rare to come across employees who are not only efficient but also genuinely friendly and customer-focused. Their dedication to providing a positive recycling experience really stood out, and it’s clear they take pride in their work. If you’re looking to recycle and want a hassle-free, supportive experience, I highly recommend working with Kyle and Zac. They are outstanding representatives of Clearfield Recycling and deserve recognition for their excellent service.

Scam, took my dpf filter here, dudes tablet didn't work so he called the office and they just guess on $75. Looked it up when I got home and it should have been around $275.

Excavator was blocking the scale exit so I had to take a sharp turn there is no warning signs as you exit the scale and it caused me to hit my rim on the barrier

Normally I would have given him a better rating never had a problem till this last week took stuff in and ended up with a $1.49 not quite sure how that happens when you have over 10 lb or more but I don't think I'll be bothering going there again I took in various materials conduit, aluminum railroad ties & horseshoes. Its just not explained very well, the price break down. The issue truly was no explanation at all, $1.50 dropped and the lady apparently, had something else to do therefore, no questions possible.

This place is a joke. I brought in over a 100 lbs of metal and they gave me $2. Big huge waste of time and my gas. Not worth it at all.

ALWAYS VERY FRIENDLY STAFF....ONLY ONE COMPLAINT...I ALLWAYS SORT MY SCRAP..ONE TRIP...I HAD MORE GOOD ALUMINUM THAN ANY OTHER SCRAP...I TOLD THEM I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY PUT IT IN A DIFFERENT CATEGORY..AND NOT ALUMINUM CATEGORY I REALLY FELT I DIDNT GET A FAIR DEAL THAT TIME... MAYBE NEW PERSON. THANKS!!

Wow that was the most dishonest experience ever! I took in a garbage can full of crushed aluminum cans. They tossed the garbage can on the scale and never weighed the can after and said it was six pounds (just for fun I googled how many pounds of crushed cash in a garbage can and it is yo to 15.5). I fill this can up a couple of times a year and it is always more than six pounds. Dishonest and sad. I guess it's better than fulling up the dump but they had a choice to make and they choice to be dishonest!

For non-ferrous the pricing is similar to the bigger yards in salt lake. In-N-Out quickly with no issues.

Great team, easy pull in scale and clean yard. Love coming here. Been loading metal for 20 years and coming here the last 5 , hands down the BEST

Very helpful people! It's so nice to take things to be recycled and get money than pay to have the landfill take them! It's also very therapeutic to dump things out of your truck as you downsize.

WOW, what a great experience! Easy to find (even though my GPS lied to me), super help helpful weight attendant and signage, offered to help unload, and pay window is easy to get to. Never go to Blooms again so different.

I don't feel like we give enough praise for those that work outside. I personally don't like the cold and I'm grateful I don't have to. With that said the employees were super helpful even though it was super cold. So a big thanks to them!!

I've been saving up my cans for a few months now, and today was my first time visiting this yard. I'm a rather shy and anxious individual, so take that into consideration when I say it was a little chaotic and tight. I skipped the aluminum line on accident, but all the workers were super friendly and helped me out. The prices seemed fair, and if you're an experienced scrapper I'm sure the process is a breeze, but for a newbie like me it was slightly terrifying.

Busy so keep an eye out. I didn't see any sort of green light or signal of acknowlegement at the scales, so I hung out there for a minute or so and it seemed to work. A gentleman in the yard was curteous and helped me find a convenient place to unload so I could get out quickly. I would have thought that with the demand for materials right now that prices would be a little better, but beats a poke in the eye. I had about 120lbs of ferros scrap and got $10.75. It's ok though, it's located conveniently to me and will buy me lunch. Plus I don't like the idea of paying to haul stuff to the landfill that will just sit around for 1,000 years.

Brought in 4 trampoline poles got 4.37$ brought 8 to 9 poles and 3 feet of fencing 49 pounds got 2.97$ The first 4 poles they marked it as irony aluminum the 49 pounds they marked it off as steel they wouldn’t switch brought out a gun to show me. I said why when you buy fencing it’s called aluminum fencing. Two different workers did the orders one of them apparently did it wrong so why didn’t they go get that guy to explain. I told them I brought in a aluminum latter magnet doesn’t stick to it yesterday they marked it as irony aluminum he explained to me because of the four small bolts that hold the straps he said I’m not going to to pay someone to take the bolts off. They just transfer their aluminum into bins where it gets compacted for shipping. The ladder is 98% aluminum. I have always felt this place was a ripoff and they proved it this week all my 11 year old son was doing is try to make some money I’ll use my gas and take my business out of Clearfield town go to Utah Metal Works on Beck Street

What a rip-off! I just had a fairly large pole barn built and had a bunch of metal scraps from the siding and the roofing. Hundreds of pounds. It was clean, and it was just metal roofing/siding. It was enought to fill my 3/4 ton truck bed up and it was heavy! My reward: $6.45. .....wasn't even worth my gas over there.

Current national scrap price for complete car is $95 a ton, brought in my car and got $33. They gave me 1/3 the price of national average. On the plus side the workers there are super helpful people, they just have terrible rates.

I have gone here twice since I recently moved closer. I have had a really good experience both times. Andrew and Ethan helped me unload my copper and brass without making me feel rushed or bad for having so much. The girl in the office was also really nice too. I will be coming back again in the future.

Took in some random scrap we had laying around our property. Andrew helped me unload, he was very helpful and respectful. He made it a very pleasant experience.

Andrew and Jake are amazing. I'm not to savvy on how all this works but they made me very comfortable with the whole process because they were very professional and very nice young men. You can tell they really know there job well and enjoy working with the public. Thank you Clearfield recycling for employing such fine young men!

Every time we have gone to this facility we have been greeted and assisted by the most friendly, kind, helpful and considerate group of people from the Office Staff to the Yard Workers. They have been very pleasant and treated us with the Highest degree of respect and we appreciate it.

They're decent as a local place to dump your junk so you feel better about not putting it in a landfill. Beyond that don't expect much in the form of payment. I have no idea what kind of profit these guys make but it has to be ridiculous considering how little they pay people for going out of their way to bring them raw materials. Their prices are pretty out of touch if you do simple google search for the going rate of materials. In 30 seconds I found 5 different scrap yards paying 2x the amount they were paying per pound. That being said all of these places were a drive so these guys are capitalizing off being one of the few local scrap yards. Their pricing for an entire engine block was basically $13. What?..... If I stripped everything down to the raw aluminum block they would bump it up to their aluminum rate netting me about $40. Again what? I watched a guy bring in an entire car get paid $110. I honestly don't have any idea where their prices come from but they must be raking in profits, and if not, completely mismanaged cause I couldn't even find another scrap yard come close to their rates. EDIT: The owner has commented below detailing the process. Here is the point though, your processes are no different than any other scrap yard in the country. If you have so much overhead that your prices need to be 1/2 of what other yards are paying elsewhere, you're mismanaging your business. Particularly in areas with such a high population density.

These guys made it extremely difficult to get my truck traded in. They worked with my on the title but at every turn I was getting poorly treated by their manager Daniel. I came in to get payment after they had closed on Saturday because Daniel said he’d be there. The gentleman who I saw that came out very aggressive and I explained why I was there and that I didn’t realize they had closed early, later went on to say I was rude to him to the manager who called me the next morning to explain to a customer how I should be acting to their employees. At every turn I was treated poorly and unprofessionally. Would not work with these guys ever again.
