Elden Dattage Towing is a great company and they are easy to work with. They can handle pretty much any towing/recovery needs that I have seen. They are quick to seen.
These guys are great. They have saved us more then once. Last winter we had a truck roll over and go down a ravine. They got it out and didn't cause more damage allowing it to be repaired. Great knowledgeable tow service. We call them anytime we have problems in Northern Utah.
Well… let me just say to keep it short, STAY AWAY from using this towing company. I needed to get my 18 wheeler towed from the road, let me start with, they took the driveshaft off by the wrong side, the driveshaft stayed hanging and it opened holes on both of the fuel tanks, and to put the cherry on the top they broke the radiator letting all the fluid out, meaning I wasn’t going to be able to turn on the truck to keep warm because it was 10 degrees Fahrenheit. So I was left there to freeze when they were supposed to take me to the shop, they left and didn’t want to provide no insurance papers or nothing. This place is the worst of the worst and the I would not recommend towing with them at all! I mean y’all can read the rest of the reviews they have here.

Rude person running this place. Why would you have your info on Google n say don't believe it. I called exactly at 8am. I am coming from an hour away. He is charging me. $583.50 for having my vehicle towed n in the lot on a Sunday. I was trying to retrieve it but they were close n said come Monday. I only asked if there was a payment plan but when he said no. I said ok. He said someone will be at the office. I am an hour away. I also have my 3 year old son. No one is here at the office and when I called he said it's only by appointment. Mind you why I called at 8 am. He said I told him I didn't have the money. Which I never said. I only asked if they had payment plans and when he said no I said ok. Now he is having us wait outside for 2 hours. Google should be updated and it should say by appointment only. And no one is at the office at all during their business hours stated on the site.
Horrible experience. They released my vehicle to the salvage yard 3 days before the paper work said it was suppose to be released. Also told me their yard was always locked at night. Your can drive by anytime of night and it's wide open. Also they have tree branches growing thru the gate. That gate doesn't move. Had to drive an hour to get my stuff out of vehicle. Most was already stolen. And when we called them on it they stated yelling at us. Had our insurance call them and they yelled at that lady also. Wouldn't recommend them to my enemy.
This guy is nothing less than a hero. Honest. Helpful. Kind. And a true humanitarian. Times are hard for us all. This company has restored my faith in kindness. Thank you with all my heart. From my small family to yours
I was in a car wreck last December. They towed my car maybe 2 blocks in Montpelier. I had to fight to get my belongings out of it. After months of working with the other party's insurance and my attorney, ( i was not at fault) they refused to comply and gave my car to the salvage yard to be crushed. Please avoid using this company if at all possible!
Horrible guy. Disrespectful. Can’t believe anyone with a business would talk to a customer in the way he did. Took advantage of my girlfriend and her mom while picking up the car, while asking why there was a 110 dollar surcharge for fuel to drive 3 blocks he completely lost his cool, arguing and throwing out negative comments not only to me but also my pregnant girlfriend and her mother. What a joke. All I wanted to understand is why there was an extra charge and he couldn’t even simply explain. He belittled me and laughed in my face. It should be almost 600 dollars to tow a car at most 4 blocks.
The Montpelier office. After a very emotional car wreck where my 16 year old hit a deer, they came to tow us. It was half a mile to take it to the body shop! We only had liability insurance on the car, so the towing wasn't covered. $450!! These guys are thieves who prey on vulnerable victims! Dont use them if you can help it!
They made me tow my car from a wreck and then forced me to pay 5 times what other companies were offering to charge. Then when I tried to pick up my car he said it was by appointment only and that I had to wait. I don’t know how he’s still in business.
Called to get a car towed from one side of Cache Valley to the other. “Oh no we don’t do that”. Not at all helpful. What kind of towing company doesn’t do towing? What a joke! Called Wolford’s those guys know the meaning of the word service. Done in about an hour.
What kind of business yells at their customers for wanting there change back. Customer service was very disrespectful and not to mention they lost my keys and are scamming customers insurance.
Gentleman who picked up my Dodge, loaded and unloaded it with care. Elden has helped me in the past with towing advice. I needed to tow a boat with my semi truck from Massachusetts to Utah. Elden helped me to get the appropriate equipment so I could have turn signals, marker lights and brake lights. They have treated my dad with kindness as well. This company has a stellar reputation, with locals, for a good reason. They are probably not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. I insist on working with talented individuals. It’s a better value in the long run.
Elden Dattage the owner/manager is the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. I called to get a breakdown of my $1300 bill and he refused and went into a spill about I don’t know anything about towing. I persisted with asking him for a breakdown and he started telling me how much it cost him to buy a tow truck. After a very unpleasant discussion with him talking down to me he still only gave me half of what the bill should have been. He also wouldn’t let my son pick up his vehicle the day before even though it was in his yard and there was still 30 minutes before they closed. I find he is very untrustworthy and will do anything to pad the bill before allowing a vehicle to be picked up. I would never recommend him to anyone for any reason.
I called to get a pull out at 1645 on 12/29. I was told it would be 4 hours. I said okay and gave my information. I waited. 13 hours later....NO CALL...NO SHOW. Thanks. Your phone even says that 'the user is not in service at this time'. WOW! Great customer service. Gave you business over a dozen times and always recommended your service. NOT ANY LONGER. Happy New Year as my truck is still stuck. Thanks.
We were traveling back from my mom's house a couple days after Christmas, and the roads weren't great. There were 15 cars off the road in the area I was in, and this towing company came to help us. As they were towing us, we were still on the winch, and as he was pulling us out he ran us into his truck. He said that we backed into it, but that wasn't possible with us being on the winch and our car was in neutral. We tried to talk to the guy there and he just dismissed us so we called the owner, and he will not do anything about it. I'm 9 months pregnant, and now I have to replace my entire back bumper which is going to cost us $2,500. I talked to Mr. Dattage, and he was rude, unreasonable, and completely incompetent. Be careful when they tow you, because apparently they don't know how to tow people out properly. And they won't do anything to fix their mistakes.
They were called on scene by the police department for a minor fender bender involving my son. They were instructed to tow it back to their facility which was about a half of a mile away from the accident scene. When I went to pick it up the next morning they charged me $392. When I asked him why it was so high he quickly said to me “I guess you know more about the towing business than I do“ he was very quick to have a poor attitude. Clearly he gets questioned a lot and has his canned response. Some of that fee was for storage of the vehicle which was outside in an unlocked yard with the window down in the keys in it. The car was drivable, so their idea of security and storage is not the same as my idea of security and storage. Overall, very disappointing experience and I would never recommend them to anybody. Eldon himself was who I dealt with, I can’t believe that guy can run a business treating people the way he does.
The UHP had Dattage towing haul my van from an accident scene. I have phoned multiple times this week in an effort to arrange payment, clean out my car and arrange for disposal. The person who could help me was never available and when I insisted that the person who could help me return my call, they refused. What kind of business refuses to return a phone call to a customer? Update--they never did call back, but finally getting things taken care of. Wow--$543 for a 4-mile tow--sticker shock!
Avoid! If you schedule a service and try to cancel, they'll still charge you the full price of towing, even if no towing actually took place and the driver never had to stop. They are not professional over the phone either and make it clear that they care more about making money than helping people.
There are cheaper places with kinder people, so save money and save your sanity. Go somewhere else.
Very rude tow truck driver. He said he was the owners son. I would not recommend them to anyone!! Tom's service station in Wellsville is great! Also Don's auto body.
They were extremely rude when I called to get a tow, I asked when the soonest they could and they said it be awhile and to call someone else if I wanted it sooner. So I asked when they could do it and they said just call someone else and hung up on me. I did call someone else and will never call them again
Dattage towed my sons car after he got slid off the road in a snow storm on a Tuesday afternoon (at the police officer suggestion). Our insurance suggested another repair shop. My son went over the next morning and told them to release the car to Miller’s Auto Repair. They guy wrote my sons name and information down. When Millers called the next morning, they told them that it hadn’t been released. My son had school and work all day Thursday and went to California early Friday morning and didn’t get back until late Monday night. We thought the car was at Miller’s and was waiting to get the estimate from them. Thursday we called Miller’s and they said they hadn’t gotten the car from Dattage because it hadn’t been released. My son went back over to Dattage to tell them to release it. Luckily Miller’s had called to say they were on their way to get it. I talked to Kevin at Dattage and he said my son came over multiple times to get stuff out of the car and never said to release it. My son was in California! I don’t like that they lied and then lied some more. They charged our insurance for 10 days of storage $400! It should been 2 day if they had told the truth! I wouldn’t trust this establishment!!
If i could give zero stars i would! I got in an accident in thw begining of october 2018, this was the towing company who came and got my truck. My truck was hit on the front passenger side fender ( by the front passenger tire) i went to the hospital while my truck went to the tow yard in tremonton utah. I called and asked if i would be able to get my stuff out because i was visiting family and our clothes baby formula etc were all in the truck. He allowed me to go get my belongings when i arrived my back glass was broken in and damage on the bed of the truck dent marks everywhere! I was not happy! My back glass was not broken at the accident because my kids would have been covered in glass and they were not! We called elden about this and said that is how it arrived so his driver broke broke my glass and caused $10,000.00 worth of damage. He is very rude instead of trying to help figure out what happened he is just trying to cover his butt. Costumer service is not a top priority for this company! I would not recommend their services find a different tow company!
A really great company to work with. They physically rescued us, and then cheered us up with great company and conversation on the ride back to Logan. They responded quickly and took care of us the whole way! Would call them again in a heartbeat!
I've used this company for years. They are very good to work with. They are dependable and honest. They can tow anything from a small car to a large truck with a couple of trailers. They have all the right equipment, big and small, to do the job right and safely. I will use them whenever I need a piece of equipment moved. And I will continue to use their services.
The driver was polite, arrived promptly, and got my car unstuck. The cost was reasonable: only $175 for rescue from a slightly out-of-the-way location near Bear Lake, Idaho.
My tow truck driver was fantastic! I never write reviews but I was so impressed with the service that I couldn't not. My car broke down in sardine canyon and they came out to get me in 30 minutes. I expected to have an angry driver but it was a great all around experience, he called a shop for me to set an appointment and dropped my car off right in the lot!
