So... we're about 3 weeks away from moving. Our 2009 Traverse has been parked for roughly 6 months and we've decided to cut our losses and get rid of it versus lugging it along to the new house. Aside from high miles and an exhaust issue (that came from having the catalytic converter replaced, which we never got around to taking back to the shop to have it looked at), the car was in beautiful shape!
We call Wheelzy and, even though we get a CRAZY low-balled offer (we EASILY could've made 4-5x what they were offering on the car IF we had the time, energy, and drive to sell it ourselves), we take it, just to get it out of our hair. The gentleman I spoke with was nice enough. The call took much longer than I expected it to, but all information was swapped and the car is scheduled to be picked up the following day between 8a-12p. The driver is supposed to call whenever they're on their way. Cool.
The next day, I'm up and waiting for the driver to call. I'm hoping they arrive early, but knew they'd probably have me waiting until the last second. Noon rolls around and there's been no call/no show. I call Wheelzy back to let them know that nobody has arrived and they ask me to reschedule. Umm... no. For the low-ball offer, this isn't worth my time! They offer a whole $26 more for me to reschedule. Dafuq?! No, thanks! They offer $22 more. Mind you... I had to "hold for 3 minutes" each time the representative tried to get more. After the last offer, I told them I'd be calling someone else. They missed a good steal! I called a local joint and they doubled what Wheelzy was offering AND picked it up just over an hour after I made the phone call. Wheelzy is STILL sending texts and calling me, trying to "work out a deal". {rolls eyes}
Anyway... wouldn't recommend. Providing 2 stars for the initial service that I received with Cedric before all hell broke loose. If you're in the Austin area and looking for a great, local business to sell your junk vehicle to, I'd highly recommend 'Capitol Junk Cars'. It was difficult seeing our car go, but Richard made the process _extremely_ easy and smooth. I don't suspect that I'll ever have another junk car to get rid of, but - if I do - I know who to call! :-)
