2024: So far, I have only used this place for an oil change, but the service was great. I can also tell they love talking about cars and have a passion for doing their services correctly. 10/2025 update: I had our van here for the spark plugs and the service went well and there was great communication during the process.

I took my '05 Tundra to Sawyer for some problematic rattling and a full suspension swap. Sawyer and his team were able to diagnose a few issues that I had been having extremely quickly. Needed my front brake pads replaced and Sawyer recommended new bearings and discovered an urgent motor mount replacement as well. I love my Cadillac and very happy with Manchaca Garage for getting her back in shape.

I had my 5.3 oil pan gasket, timing chain, water pump and transfer case seal done here. The professionalism and quality of work was great! It’s impossible to find a shop that has integrity these days, one that follows through on their commitments and does excellent work at a fair price. Look no further, this is the place.

Very up front and honest. They do a good job. Friendly service. This is now my main repair shop. I took a trip to Florida a month ago w/my 20 year old car & brought it here first & asked if they'd check it out & see if they saw any problems if I were to drive 30 hours in it. They changed the oil, told me it was fine, & I made the trip & back w/no problems. The owner the last few years is Sawyer, & he IS that rare thing- an Honest repair guy. He's doing so well now he's hired some new mechanics and is looking to move to a bigger place.

Sawyer and team have taken care of all of our cars recently with great results. They take their time and diagnose issues correctly. Sawyer is at the top of the list of quality work. Has been our go to guy for years . Today Kathleen called to ask a question about trailer turning signal problems. 30 minutes later he arrived at the house, 10 minutes later the problem was solved. Sawyer takes care of his customers for sure.

Great experience. I had already done everything I knew to figure out what was going on and a mobile mechanic couldn’t diagnose it. Brought my Subaru Outback here, quickly diagnosed with valve cover leaking oil into the spark plugs/causing a misfire. After the fix, the car is driving like new! Honest shop and fair prices. Will be taking my jeep here next to have some things done.

Excellent experience with this shop. I got two quotes for a larger set of jobs on a 20-year old car, then I took it here. The owner, Sawyer, handles all communications with the customers so you are always talking to a seasoned mechanic who has personally looked at your car and takes pride in his shop's reputation. Not only did he not try and up-sell me on anything, he walked me through each item and gave me an estimate on exactly how long each would last and whether it would cause any damage to the car if/when it goes if I just ride it out. Both other estimates had two major items, plus a few more minor items on them, and after breaking the engine down to take a look he told me that one of the major items and a few of the minor ones weren't at all needed at this time. The only thing he added was something that will save me money in the long run because most of the cost is in the labor of getting to it, so all I was paying for were the parts themselves (it had been mentioned to me in the past multiple times so I don't doubt that it needed to be replaced). In the end I walked out having paid over $2k below one estimate, and $4k below the other one. My car now drives much better overall than it has in 15 years despite the number of repairs done being minimal. I'd highly recommend this shop above any other mechanic I've been to over the years.

Recommended by many folks so contacted them about servicing my car. Good communication on scheduling, what they found in pre-check and advice on what needed to be worked on now vs holding off. Very upfront and seemed very genuine. Will definately use them in the future.

Was referred to Sawyer by a friend of mine for repairs and I will never go elsewhere again!. Service was top notch! Sawyer took time to explain priority repairs versus needing eventual repairs on my sons wrecked vehicle. Sawyer and his team took care of my Tacoma and my Sienna. Both vehicles needed more than just an oil change. Sawyer was honest and detail oriented. He checked the vehicles and was able to point out issues that I was not aware of and address them before the became a big problem. Prices are reasonable and quality of work is excellent! 100% would refer to friends and family. I'd tell people I don't like to go elsewhere because they are busy enough 🤣

The A/C in my car was acting all wonky, and after I had taken it to a different shop recommended by my friend where they couldn't find the issue, I was desperately Googling shops near my apartment to try and get it fixed. This one popped up, I read the good reviews, and immediately booked myself in. And I am SO GLAD I did. They found out what was wrong with my AC, fixed it super quickly, and gave me a bumer to bumper look over for maintenance I can expect to have done coming up (which I really appreciate!) I've had some bad experiences in the past with mechanics, so I'm always a little hesitant finding a trusted shop for my car. But they really blew it out of the park and earned my trust - definitely will be back!!

Wife’s car wasn’t turning on, we showed up to the shop and they let us know it might be about a week. We explained the situation and they got us in and out within an hour, catching a very easy fix that was missed at two previous garages. Polite, fast and courteous and we’ll definitely be coming back and recommending in the future

Recently moved to Austin and this place was recommended to me after I had been to various other places that had outrageous prices and would not explain what was wrong with my car even though I have a bit of knowledge on it. When I got to this place I instantly felt a good vibe and they were nothing but nice and honest when it came to my car. They explained everything that was found to be wrong with my compressor and ac system, gave recommendations, and had good prices. They were also fast and would keep me up to date on the status of my car. I would definitely go again if need be and would most definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good mechanic!(:

Let me start by saying that Sawyer at Manchaca Garage is not only a great technician but also a true “mechanic” in the classic sense. I consider myself a “shade tree mechanic”and do the vast majority of my own repairs as I’m hesitant to trust others with my vehicles. I took Sawyer a Trans Am that I’ve had for many years. He went above and beyond with my car and not only repaired the issues, but found things that I completely missed in many years of ownership. His prices, honesty and attention to detail are second to none. Highly recommended

I’ve been going here since I moved from Round Rock in 2015. I’ve always been treated with respect. The last owner, Martin, used to call me by name. He was sweet and hired on Sawyer, who is just as sweet, and calls you by name. As long as I have my old Dodge Ram I’ll always go to this mechanic. Had my truck in there many times. Never felt I was overcharged. Sawyer is an awesome mechanic and mellow. Two thumbs up!!!

Sawyer is indeed a very honest and reputable mechanic. He will explain everything that is wrong with your vehicle step by step and his prices are good compared to others around the area. Best mechanic I've been to. Fixed the belt problem I had and let me know my brakes were in need of repair which I had been putting off. Gave me a complete rundown on what needed attention in the future for safe driving. Sawyer is honest, very knowledgeable, got the work done quickly. Prices were fair and I would recommend this garage for anyone.

Manchaca Garage is my new go to mechanic. My boyfriend and I have a fair amount of mechanical knowledge, he was a mechanic at Subaru and I was a mechanic at a small business. They knew what they were doing and they didn't try to add on anything we didn't need. Living in an apartment and never having time, they are perfect for me. They were incredibly friendly and my car was done in 1 day! Follow up assistance/response was within the hour. The best at what they do. I can't express how many stars I would give this shop if I could do more than 5. Also, the shop dog is life. It's worth going there just to meet the dog.
