Dan was upfront with every detail pertaining to my car. He set detailed estimates along the way for me to approve or disapprove. I've used Dan's Auto for years now I trust no one else with my car.
We take our Diesel Ford F250 truck there for regular maintenance and any issue that has occured. Great staff great work honest and trustworthy. You are treated like family. Thank you for taking great care of the truck my twin daughters drive. ❤️
They did an amazing job, fitting me in their busy schedule! As a nomadic vagabond, dwelling within the confines of their vehicle. It can be tough to get maintenance and repairs done! The process was easy! And they were great to work with! I will be taking my RV to them for future repairs and maintenance!
As a customer I expect an honest service as advertised by a company... Dan's Auto is not honest in the slightest way. A wrecker took my truck there after breaking down in Arlington. They never once said it was going to cost money to figure out what was wrong with my truck but ended up charging me close to $300 just to get my pickup. When they finally sent me an estimate they stated my ecm computer was out the cost yo fix my truck: 3-5 grand... I took the truck back home to a trusted shop near my hometown in Stephenville Texas. While loading my truck Dan himself was entirely rude to my grandfather an elderly man of 70 years and my innapropriate to my girlfriend and I. When I got the estimate from my trusted local service provider I was informed that the only thing wrong was my batteries needed replaced and the line to my electric fuel pump had been disconnected. They tried to trick me into paying a substantial amount of money for a job that should have been no more than $200. Dan's advertises that they're Diesel specialists so there is no excuse as to the mis diagnosis on my pickup by that much. When confronted after I learned of they're attempts to swindle me they refused to refund my money and the main office man, Gilly asked if I had enemies... I guess Dan's is the only enemy I can think of. Please do not go here for your repairs or any other reason. This place is dishonest. I stand by my review
Had Dan and his crew do a 30;000 mile scheduled maintenance on our 2023 Class C motor home. I also asked for a wheel alignment and headlight adjustment. I made an appointment to have the work done. Took them a couple of days to get all the work done. I fully expected them to have the RV for more than a week, based on other service providers estimates. Under promise and over achieve is a great business model to have. I will be back for continued maintenance on our motorhome.
Took my RV in for a regular maintenance service for oil change and filter on engine and generator. They also found I needed new bushings.Got the parts in and replaced them quickly and also got some extra keys made for me. The mechanic Derrick was very helpful explaining why I needed the bushings replaced. The front desk ladies were very friendly too...even offered me to take a drink on my way out. I will definitely return to Dan's Auto.
Dan and his team continue to meet and exceed our service needs! We have a special needs bus fleet that is in tip top shape from his services! His crew is very communicative, patient, and they explain everything in detail! We appreciate them greatly!
We have been bringing our work trucks here for a while. It’s a very busy shop but Dan and his crew always go above and beyond to get even the most obscure diagnosis correct. Customer service at the front desk is always friendly and great at keeping us updated.
Dan's Auto/Truck Repair shop did a great job fixing the air conditioner in my 2009 Infiniti G37. Dan kept in touch with me to let me know about the cost and the things that could possibly go wrong. My AC is working very well now. It's ready for summer!

Being a full time RV’er, Its tough finding a shop that can get you in on the fly for routine maintenance. Dan’s was great from top down. Austin scheduled me right away for an oil change, fuel filter and other general maintenance on my 04 Duramax. They serviced my truck and charged me a fair price and I was on my way. Would highly recommend their shop for all of your diesel service and repair needs.
I have trusted Dan’s with my rv a few times and have never been disappointed. They are great at diagnosing issues.
I always get my rv back in a timely manner. I have never felt that I overpaid for any services and they always call before doing any extra repairs. They are conveniently located in Arlington TX. I probably just had the most pleasant truck repair visit experience ever. Professional, courteous, quick, fair... Does it get better than that? **UPDATE from a year ago** Just took my Jeep in with a starting problem, expecting a new starter needed. Diagnosed with a loose wire only. Fixed and back on the road. Honest and great service.
I haven’t found a better mechanic than Dan! For what it’s worth, any time spent waiting for his service is worth it, don’t let any review here mislead you about that. As for any mishaps that we’ve ever endured, he has always made me whole in the end. He’s been my mechanic for 3 years and I plan to continue to use his services as long as I need them! The thing I like the most about Dan is that he is very thorough and in the end he is always fair. I wouldn’t trust my Mercedes sprinter van with anyone else!
I operate a large Kenworth box truck, and its in that in between. not big enough for the commercial truck repair spots ( as i get pushed to the bottom of the list ), and too big for a dealership or a small repair place.
Dan and his employees have treated me with the utmost urgency and efficiency. Fulfilling all my needs for repair and service, with an attitude that I was the best customer, who they couldn't wait to see back again.
I would recommend them ( and have ) to any small business operating a fleet, or large trucks. the attention to detail and friendly service is unmatched in the DFW.
We had our yearly maintenance done on our 32 foot Class A motorhome and the generator.. Dan also ordered new house batteries for the motorhome and had someone come to our RV park to replace them. We can't say enough good things about Dan and his incredible staff. We highly recommend him.
Dan’s entire team was professional, from the front office to the mechanics. When my 2007 international was ready to be picked up Chad the mechanic that worked on the truck, walked me step by step on what had been done and what I would need for the future. I really appreciate the time they took working on this truck since it was an older truck. Overall great experience.
Great Family Type Treatment. They are always polite and honest. Not always the cheapest but one of the most reliable and you wont have to keep going back. I took a diesel truck to Dan's for a pre-purchase inspection. They got me in right away and gave me a wonderful comprehensive report including pictures on the truck I was looking to buy. I live 2 hours away and they let me arrange everything over the phone and emailed my results to me. Dan called and walked me through the report, and gave me advice on maintenance and items to address were I to buy the truck. I will use them again.
I drive an Isuzu NPR-HD box truck on a daily basis, and Dan’s has become my go-to stop for any needed heavy diesel repairs. You cannot dabble in this kind of truck repair- it takes a specialist to do the job right and earn your trust, and Dan and his team, Brian in particular, have proven to be exactly that.
Dan has done several repairs on my truck since I started patronizing his business a few months ago, but most recently he assisted me with a very serious, extensive repair. It was expensive and took a while, and many complications arose from it, but Dan went far beyond the extra mile to make sure that I and my truck were taken care of.
I can’t begin to tell you the number of times and ways in which Dan went out of his way to give me excellent, personalized, expert service, at the smallest possible cost. He assured me multiple times that he was going to see the project through to the end and make sure I was taken care of- and that’s exactly what happened. That kind of service and character is special, and sadly, all too rare.
My truck is my business, and when I don’t have it I’m impacted on multiple levels- most importantly financially! I need to know that the person working on it has my best interest at heart and is going to operate with expertise, speed, and integrity.
So many times I’ve taken my truck to a larger place of business that has a name brand (I’m not naming names, but I’m looking at you, Industrial Power) where the wait times were exorbitant, service felt shoddy, and each time I walked out feeling like my business wasn’t appreciated- that I was just a number and they didn’t care if I used them or not. I have never had that feeling at Dan‘s place of business. Brenda and the office staff treat me like a friend, and the service I receive is highly personalized with excellent, thorough communication.
In short, with Dan’s I get excellent service at reasonable prices, but most of all I get the peace of mind that comes with knowing my truck and my business are in good hands. I can’t recommend Dan’s highly enough for any heavy truck (Isuzu, International, Freightliner, Kenworth, etc.) repair, but they also work on motor homes, RVs, and passenger cars & trucks. Give Dan and his crew a chance to earn your trust like they earned mine.
I brought my van in because I wanted to have my wheel bearings replaced. I was told that the likely cause wouldn’t be the bearings. So I agreed to a diagnostic on the front end. After the diag I was told the front end was good but my brakes where completely worn and it would cost $2323 to do the full job. I was also told that my wheel bearings where the press on type. I didn’t pay for the service, just the diag fee of $158. Once I got home I decided to do the job myself, and I found that my brakes where NOT completely worn, the wheel bearings are NOT the press in type, my front end bushings DO need replacing and I don’t think they even took the tire off( the tire off part is probably my frustration of doing this with my limited schedule but you get the picture). My experience was not good. Some others may have different experiences. I don’t expect an apology or a statement I want people to be aware
When I made the choice to use Dan’s Truck Repair service I did so based upon the merits of his Google Reviews. I couldn’t agree more with all the other positive reviews I’ve read. First and foremost, Dan himself communicated an accurate timeframe to complete the repair—he never beat around the bush on how long it would take. Secondly, he was able to work on my Mercedes-Benz turbo diesel (a challenging proposition for anyone) and brought it back to good as new after another mechanic butchered it. Last, he kept me up to date on what he was going to charge me and not only did he call to get my approval, he also sent a detailed e-mail describing the additional parts he needed as the work progressed, and only for those things inside the engine he couldn’t see when he made an original estimate. If you own a Mercedes, Freightliner, or Dodge turbo diesel van this guy is the one to trust! Dan is an honest man and that’s about the most important trait you can find in a mechanic. He has rightfully earned me as a customer and next time I need a mechanic I will be calling him again. Thanks Dan!
I have been a customer of Dan's of over 20 years. I own a large roofing company in Arlington, Texas and Dan has maintained my fleet of cars and trucks and has always provided excellent customer service and expertise. They are very knowledgeable and friendly and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing repair work done.
I wrote a long, extremely negative review, and the owner called me and explained his position. While I don't agree, and still feel the customer service aspect of their business is terrible, I added a star back. I am not sure who is right; there can often be gray areas in mechanical issues. Unfortunately, I cannot get a clear answer to the mechanical issues; but I do know they need to treat their customers better. It doesn't matter how knowledgeable you are if the customer leaves feeling like they were mistreated and condescended to. A bit of respect and explanation can go a long way.
EDIT2: A thing I forgot to note: when the owner called to explain, he began this long rant about a million things and would not let me talk at all. At one point, I put the phone down on the table and walked away and timed it: 3 minutes later he was still ranting at me.
Furthermore, my vehicle is finally fixed, and they found the source of all the problems -- a wiring harness had shorted out and burned up. So the $5000 in repairs recommended by Dan's would've 1) added back a part that does nothing but cause problems and was only there to satisfy federal regulators, and 2) wouldn't have solved the real problem which was a burned up wiring harness that was causing all the other symptoms.
By walking away, I saved thousands of dollars.
