Had my alternator and battery replaced back in March. Today my battery died while at work. Had a ton of meetings that I couldn’t miss so I jumped it and headed straight to Metro around lunchtime. Told them the issue and that I really needed the battery replaced asap. Without hesitation, they told me it would be 45 minutes. Reality, it was about 20 minutes. They apologized for the defective battery and sent me on my way. I’ve recommended them to friends and family and they’ve never failed. Besides the outstanding service, this team is very honest. Only what you need. Not what they want to sell you. Definitely Recommend Metro Champion.
I was referred to Metro Champion by a friend who has used this shop in the past. Ownership has since changed and the son (Sam), runs the business now. Stopped by for a quote on work needed for my 2006 Honda Accord. Long story short Sam was flat out RUDE! He gave me a price that I thought was a little on the high side for the work needed. I asked for a breakdown of parts vs. labor. His response was, “the price is the price, I don’t haggle, I get my parts from the dealer and you can’t bring in parts”. A mouthful right off the bat! I also found his “quote” interesting because the DEALER has DISCONTINUED the part I need! So, who knows HOW he even calculated a parts price, to begin with. He then told me he couldn’t get to my car until another 2 weeks anyway, because he “gets 12 -15 cars a day”. Overall, his tone was VERY direct, matter-of-fact and condescending! Not at all how you talk to customers, let alone a referral and potential new customer! I wouldn’t do business with Metro Champion if it was FREE!
Fantastic auto repair shop - always very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Sam is very communicative and explains things well. Respectful people with a respectable shop. Service is always very speedy and the prices are fair. I highly recommend this business!

I selected Metro champion about a year ago from a recommendation of a good friend who operates a mechanic shop but was too far of a drive given the issue. Recently I returned to Metro Champion for service again after which I was compelled to leave a review.
Sam at Metro is by far the most honest, fair and kind mechanic I have yet to meet. I was dealing with some difficult choices that carried the risk of significant repair bills and he took a good deal of time to fully explain my options and provided his own personal recommendation. Sam / Metro Champion went over and above what I would have expected and exceeded my expectations as they have done before. In addition, the office staff is also very kind and courteous.
It can be very difficult to find honest and knowledgeable mechanics these days and Sam @ Metro Champion is like finding a diamond in the rough. The next time you need service, I would highly recommend giving "Diamond Sam" @ Metro Champion a try and experience for yourself what I and several others have.
Honest mechanic, repairs have not let us down yet, and the once or twice parts have failed, $0 warranty work! I have my children's vehicles serviced there. And the staff is friendly, in addition to being excellent mechanics. Here's one for you: they are honest, too.
Metro has always treated me well and taken very good care of all of my 22 year old truck needs. They only repair what is needed and do not try to upsell services. I am always recommending this place. Called for a quote on rear shock replacement. They said it would take half a day and $300. They did it in half a day and for $300. What more could you ask for? Great customer service as well. Happy I found a good shop here in Texas.

All of the warning lights on my Prius went off while driving on 635 so I slowly drove it to closest Toyota dealer (4 min. away). After a $120 diagnostic test, the rep quoted me $1100 for water pump replacement and $3800 to fix all the rest of stuff they found wrong with my car. I wanted to make sure so I called Sam. He quoted me way less for the water pump replacement, so I towed my car to Metro Champion.
Sam completed another diagnostic test and found that it was not the water pump but a cheaper problem, and nothing else was wrong with my car.
I ended up paying way less than the $4800 the dealer quoted.
Should have driven my car to Arlington in the first place and saved myself $200 for the towing and dealer's useless diagnostic test.
Without a doubt, Metro Champion is the best in the business. They surprise me everytime with their honesty.
Sam is an honest guy and always does quality work. He personally calls you to let you know what is going on with your vehicle and he always does his best to keep things cost-effective for you. He even lets you know what items can wait as if he was talking about his own vehicle. Great service!

Excellent service. They gave me a Pre Purchase inspection on a vehicle I had never seen and were extremely thorough. Very please with their service especially since I live in another state. They were also very affordable. If you ever in Arlington, this is the place to go!
Metro Champ has charged me more money on two occasions now then was quoted for no reason with no remorse. I had a/c service done on my truck. Told them to leak test the system before the refill. Well they filled the system for it to leaked out two months later. I questioned Sam about this and he only had excuses with not one apologie. Second time was with alignment were he charged two prices different than what was quoted.
My girlfriends family recommend this shop to me so I gave him two chances but never again. I had her take her car in for a routine inspection for anow odd smell. The guy said it was fine and gave a list of random things every old car needs. The next day the car caught on fire in her driveway when she drove home from work. The car burnt to the GROUND!!! This guy needs to be shown for who he really is, a lying crook.
I got numerous quotes and this shop got my attention. It was an honest quote for what I needed. It was in the price range the Internet told me to expect. All other shops were +$200 and they are just taking your money. Work was done earlier than expected. Price was as quoted. Customer service exemplary. If you have a problem with this shop I would recommend to try again.. They now have all my business. With the miles I put on playing Ingress we all need a good mechanic

Like everyone else has said. Sam only fixes what needs to be fixed, and tells you what can wait.
When he does fix something, it is done quickly and for a very reasonable price. And it is done right the first time. Don't ever remember having to take a car back after the work was done.
If I had Ten stars i would rate Metro Champion a Ten. I was a Single mom with a decent paying job many years ago and I found Metro Champion through a friend. The most Honest, Ethical, Dependable, knowledgeable, and transparent business owners I have ever met. When they left for a while, I stopped going there but Sam and his Dad are back and I am spreading the word to anyone that can listen. Please go to Metro champion to fix your cars you will never regret it.
My family has trusted this shop for years. Sam is a very honest person and runs that shop like he was born to do it. I recently had a car wreck that complicated my life quite a bit and when it first happened I immediately had it taken to Metro. They were extremely accommodating and allowed my car to stay there for about 4-5 days before an adjustor could even come look at it. When it was looked over Sam recommended the best way for me to get the repairs needed for it to run and was trying to save me $1,500 if the insurance didn't total it. I ended up going with the insurance (totalled), but he was seriously trying to help me keep from being carless for who knows how long. I doubt any other shop owner I know would help someone that much. Now that I am hunting for a used car this is the only place I will take prospective cars to be checked out. Saved me from buying a damaged car just today. Metro is a great place to go if you want honest pricing, workmanship and dependability. I'll be coming here for years to come.

Repaired catalytic converter for my minivan 2 years ago at a franchise repair shop, and they charged me a ridiculous amount. After a long road trip, the "check engine" light came on. Fearing the worst, I took it to the same repair shop and they said another $1250 more.
Wanting a second opinion, took it to Metro Champion. The owner, a young guy, informed me that the "engine light" code is just a stored code from the previous repair job 2 years ago. He erased the code for FREE. He also told me to keep an eye on the light, and if it comes back, bring it right back. It's been 3 months and so far the minivan runs fine with no lights appearing.
The owner runs this shop with honesty like a good repair shop should. I never trusted repair shops but I have found one I can trust. He looks for long term repeat customers rather than the immediate profit he can earn. He also saved me $1250.
They have changed owners as of 2013. The original owners returned so I am back. I came back because Sam and his father use to take care of my cars years back. The father and son team have always provided honest and good service in the past.
Sam told me all I needed was a battery when my car would not start. Difficult to find a mechanic who recommends you to only fix what you need. He did not say I needed a new alternator or starter....just battery.
Sam is honest, prompt and knowledgeable about all things cars. He told me to return after 6 months for him to take a look at the power steering pump. He said I do not need to fix it now but I should let him keep an eye on it.
