Great service. My truck broke down on the first day of an extended fishing trip. They got right on it so that I could have fun fishing while knowing that my truck would be ready when it was time to return home.
I used to take my car to the dealership where it would take half a day and not everything was being completed on my car. Every time I’ve gone to Island tire they are welcoming and work fast to get me out the door and on my way. I have been going to Island tire now for several years and will only take my cars to them now.
I don't know about the quality of work at this shop, but I do know they have horrible customer service.
I had a check engine light come and noticed some fluid under the car so I brought it here in hopes they could maybe at least do a quick check for me, since it's Friday most places will be closed for the weekend. I show up at 5 and they close at 5:30. The lady at the counter said they couldn't do anything for me and it would be Tues until they might be able to help. Meanwhile while I'm looking at 3 mechanics in the lobby relaxing doing nothing, 3 of them. And the place was open for another 30 minutes and 3 guys with obviously nothing to do, but sit around on the clock and make money doing no work, and not one person could scan my car or looked at it. How difficult would if been to at least do a scan, that takes 30 seconds people. As I am explaining to the lady I'm from out of town and I could use some help if possible and I get no help. this is the customer service I was given at this establishment. And to make it worse I was telling the lady the vehicle had been repaired a couple months ago for a leaking transmission and it could be leaking for that reason. But nobody helped so I said well I guess I could try making it home and hope I make it. Here is where the customer service really goes downhill.. She responded with well that could void the repair they made. I asked how and she said cause I said it might be leaking around the transmission. But I don't know anything, I'm not a mechanic. Hell, it could have been condensation from my A/C line or something else, idk.. that's why I went to a supposed mechanic shop. I'm at a mechanic shop asking for them to look at it while they tell me they can't help but they have 30 minutes left before close and 3 mechanics in the lobby hanging out watching TV. Thanks for the help guys!!, your super awesome! And none of the guys sitting around said or did anything at all. Terrible customer service. I would never go here for anything, terrible. Zero stars, negative 5 star review!
Appreciate the friendly staff, prompt communication, and professional service of too many of our cars!!! Very clear breakdown of what needs to be done or needs attention in the near future as well as the breakdown of the cost. Simple, clear, and professional service.
Excellent and fast diagnosis and appointment of the only Toyota cooling pump issue they’ve ever ordered parts for when I stopped in with overheating. Parts were ahead of schedule and tremendous effort was put in to get my vehicle back days ahead of predictions! Fair pricing and personalized service continuously for many years! A+!
I'm a long time customer. Island Tire & Automotive is one of the very few auto repair facilities I have actually trusted to do the right thing by their customers in my 60 years of auto repairs. I've spent BIG bucks on needed repairs with them and have never once felt cheated.
The people are friendly, helpful, And competent! They diagnosed a problem but suggested it might be under warranty at a dealership. The particular issue was outside the scope of services they could provide. I will return to island tire when I need service.
We had a mini tire crisis that the staff at Island Tire was able to fix and get us back on the next day’s ferry home.
They also fixed our spare quickly and at a very reasonable price.
I highly recommend this shop and it’s very helpful crew.
I took my car and dropped it off to get the rest of the maintenance stuff taken care of and they had it fixed in no time. I love the text message from them where I can see what was done and pay right online. I didn’t make it before they closed so I picked it up after hours. Thanks guys so much
Fantastic service. Had a car issue while on vacation. Even though they were totally booked they worked me in and solved the problem. I am very grateful for their sensitivity to my urgent problem.
Been going there since 2003, and i wiil b back for my periodic and required and my " o my gosh something is wrong " issues. they take care of my truck great and always keep me updated .

We had a new AC installed just a compressor. It was not blown cold. We took our Car to Island tire. They promptly diagnose the problem. It had multiple problems. My wife also had to work in the evening. They let me have my car back each night for my wife. They worked around our schedule. My ac is blowing cold. .They were fantastic as usual.Well worth the peace of mind knowing its done right
Having Island Tire and Automotive on North Padre is a gift, as it always saves a 20 minute drive over the bridge. The downside is that there is usually a wait for an appointment. Our appointment was 4 days after the initial phone call, but this shop is dependable, honest, and efficient. We dropped the jeep off on Sunday night for a 3PM Monday appointment. The vehicle was diagnosed and fixed by Wednesday. We’re happy return customers.
They took care of my trailer tire by replacing the valve very cheaply - and I didn’t have to struggle in the heat to get the tire off. Great service - friendly people - low cost.
Went to spend the day on the beach with my wife, and one of the tires developed a ball. So pulled in to get a tire, island tire dropped the spare and change out the tire in no time. Great fast, prompt, and courteous service. Saved our day completely.
Nothing like getting a flat on vacation. Boooo. But the folks at Island Tire went above and beyond! They helped me get my spare on quickly so I could try to salvage the day with my family, dropped our van to our condo, and secured a replacement same day. Overall, great experience I’ve run kiteboarding school here on the island Every time my vehicle needs service they’re on point friendly staff knowledgeable always quick to answer. Questions scheduling is super easy. Very fair priced and competitive with other shops in town
This place was such a blessing! We had had a tire issue on our way to visit/be tourists. And they helped us sooooo much !!! They were straightforward and honest. They also helped us find a place to stay when our reservation was cancelled! They are great
Jacob went above and beyond to help us! We couldn’t find working air at a gas station so we pulled in hoping we could air up our low tire. Not only did Jacob provide air, he plugged the leak for us If we were local, we’d absolutely return for our automotive needs. Thanks again, Jacob!!
Great service, highly recommend! Transparent with pricing before the work is done. They also kept my Jeep in the bay when we had a torrential downpour with the top off, shout out for that courtesy!
Honest shop that did a great and fast work. They even offered me really good feedback on which repairs needed to be prioritized, which repairs could wait, and how much life I could reasonably expect out of my 255k+ mile car. Those conversations helped me plan how many repairs I would commit to and when to plan on getting a new car. Thank you so much!
My sister and I are from out of town and rented a car that apparently had a hole in the center council. We lost some pretty expensive things down there. When we called they asked us to come by so they could take a look, not knowing if they could help us. Ben and his team literally took the center council apart and was able to retrieve the expensive items and helped us for an additional 10 minutes try to find other items lost. This team is so kind, punctual, prepared, helpful, and overall just wonderful. They had us in and out within 20 minutes with everything put back together the way it needed to be without any damage done. We can not thank you enough for helping us out.
