What clients say about The Woodlands Recycling Center in The Woodlands (TX)
Accessible neighborhood recycling facility for the more basic household/yard materials. This is not a dump your stuff place. Best to pre-sort before arriving.
We've been coming here for a couple years with our cardboard, cans, glass, tough plastics, and paper. They have signs of what they accept.
Oils and more complex recylcing should be brought to the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Recycling Facility.
The Woodlands Recycling Center is a great option for residents to dispose of excess recyclable materials, including yard/green waste, outside of their normal curbside service. The Center is manned on the weekends, but can get very busy. Spacing in the area is limited, so keep a lookout for people and vehicles.
This was so easy and a stress relief! Very clean place and takes no time at all to recycle ♻️ yall have know idea how stoked I am to have a place like this and of this convenience!
It's a good place to pre-sort recycling, but I have no clue if everything actually ends up getting recycled downstream; however that's more of a global problem. Often, people will also drop off things here, aka "junk", that is free to pick up and give it new life. I've found some good stuff this way. I do wish there was a more rigorous process for recycling more types of materials, like styrofoam, single use batteries, plastic bags - these things cannot be recycled here. Yard waste can be dumped here. I would like to know if there's a place nearby where we can pick up mulch generated from this yard waste. It is usually a fairly active recycling center on the two days that it's open.
I wish there were more places like this one around the city. Very easy to dispose your recyclables.
Definitely worth saving them until you have a chance to go to this place.
Even better if you sort before getting here so your visit can be quicker. A few cars are usually parked on site also dropping stuff off.
Glass, cardboard, plastic, paper, aluminum, tin, branches.
I wish all towns, cities + metropolis in the USA would have RECYCLE STATIONS!!! Thank You Woodlands for being Progressive! This one is very good, but they need to sweep up the grounds at the end of the 2 days they are open. TOO MUCH SPILLAGE on the ground around the waste bins!
Limited times they are open so check on that before driving over and they do not have a scrap metal recycling option - only aluminum, but otherwise is a great local resource
Disappointed this facility does not take old oil, fryer oil, household chemicals. Attendant (non English speaking) became upset when I questioned him on why I could not leave all my old fryer oil. Very impolite.
Great spot to bring your recyclables. The only downside are their limited hours. Wed evening and Saturday morning are the only times they are open so it can get busy.
I've been here a few times now since my neighborhood doesn't offer curbside recycling. The employees are generally helpful and willing to help you unload your items when they aren't busy. Sometimes it can get chaotic in the lot because so many cars come at once but it's very easy to drop off your items. Items must be sorted into their proper bins, so be prepared when you arrive. The bins are marked cardboard, plastic, yard trimmings, mixed paper, white paper, magazines, white glass, brown glass, green glass, aluminum and tin. They even have a spot for clothing donations.
