My daughter and I went on a TYHP Hunt here. We loved it. The people were great and the hunting was fantastic. We got to see all sorts of wild animals from Whitetail deer to Axis deer, Turkey, Bunnies, Green Jays, Fox, Racoons and many other types of birds. We will definitely be coming back.

The people suck. Speeding, rude with their loud vehicles, don't slow down for people, golf cars, or little kids on bicycles. When on rare occasions they do slow down for stop signs, its the petal to the metal to do their 40 in a 25. They do smile to your face and say have a blessed day but will not stop on hwy 90 to help a one legged man change a flat tire as they go by speeding and never dare to move over. Nice Texans for ya

We did not stay. Just visited in passing. Great historical fort dating back to the 1850’s. Now a private residence with an HOA. The springs are well worth a visit.

Very cool nostalgic place to stay. Only stayed overnight to get early and hunt nearby the next morning. Room is not fancy, but clean and comfortable. Lot of history here. It’s a converted mote from old army barracks from what I understand. I didn’t have time to go around the whole property to see all the historical markers or swim in the spring.

The rooms are quaint. Bit musty smelling, but hopefully clean enough. Bed seems comfy (just checked in, so can’t fully comment yet) Biggest disappointment is that the spring pool was closed and mostly empty. Apparently lack of water. Which really sucks as it was full at the beginning of July and it’s July 25th now, but I guess there has been no rain lately. Sucks as it’s 100 out and I was sooooo looking forward to the pool.

Stayed for a couple of nights. The room was great, and the beds were very comfortable. But the motel amenities were non-existent. Staff did not have any good info about what amenities were available. The ice machine was hard to find and didn't work. Could not even get a map of the fort. They need a lot of help. Could be a really cool place with some better management.

Find this motel that was in old Army barracks from 1940' with some buildings from 1870s.... Just wow. History you can touch, feel and experience.... That is priceless. Now... It's not a normal nice modern hotel.. so be real. I'm 6'3" so the little full beds are small and my feet hang off... But. The little room is clean and somewhat quiet. I was up stairs on the end and heard footsteps but know there was no one in a room near me... So figured it was a past Tennant... Haha. Everything in room worked and the fan kept me cool with some background noise. If you love American history then this is a must see/stay. I hope to see more of the property the rest of the week, since I'm here all week. Great breakfast place outside the gate called Alices... And also New York style pizza there too, and good BBQ just up the street. I will be back.

Sprayed the room with our own bug spray upon entering and ended up finding a big dead spider later on. Did not spray the bathroom and near the shower were a bunch of baby spiders. The hotel room was not up to date, had a weird musty smell, and the sinks kept us up gargling like they were going to flood. There is also absolutely no counter space in the bathoom, not even to put toiletries. As nice as the front desk employees were, and as beautiful as the location is, the room was just awful and dirty and I can't recommend it.

Samantha at check in was so instrumental in making us feel at home. Thee room assigned addressed my husband's special needs as well as the closeness to the amenities enjoyed by our family to include easy in and out access to the Springs.||We were sad to know that there was no in house restaurant nor a microwave at best. Nonetheless, the overall trip was a success for all of our family members:)

I went here to see the historic fort and learn more about it. It had an amazing history. However, I discovered that their museum is only open for a few hours on Saturday afternoons and the historic buildings are used as private residences. This place neither honors its legacy or would be a nice place to live. It looked so cheap and disgraceful. I drove around the tennis courts and saw grass growing up through cracks in the concrete. Pathetic. Maybe they have a good swimming hole for locals. But, I wouldn't take my dog for a walk there. Here are a few photos as an attempt to honor its history. Very disappointing.

There camp sites are affordable and in a great location. You are place alongside a road but not many cars drive pass. You also have easy access to the creak and trail! There’s over 20mi of trails and a good portion provides tree coverage if your looking to go in the summer. When it starts to get really hot you can always cool off in the spring feed pool. At least when I visited the pool was plenty big enough I accommodate the 12 or so families as my group. It is notable there’s a $3 per day per person price to visit the spring. A fair price considering you can also “catch and release” fish in the actual spring as well. If your looking to visit the museum it has very limited hours from noon to 4pm on Saturdays only. However me and my group still got to tour around the fort reading the historical land markers and had a great time! They have a bathroom at the camp site along with a shower (free to use). They also have a 24/7 lounge area with A/C if you really want to escape the heat. They sell bagged ice during business hours at a really reasonable price in that area as well. The staff was super friendly throughout our entire trip. Great weekend/ 3day trip spot!

This place is amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed riding through the fort with friends. I think we read every historical marker. The homes and barracks are beautiful. The quarried stone that covers most of the buildings is gorgeous! I'd love to get into the buildings. Some of these places date back to the early 1800s. A history buff will love this place and so will anyone who enjoys seeing something different. There's a hotel and a spring fed swimming pool. I love old buildings and I've never seen architecture like I've seen here. Incredible!

We stayed one night in the FCS hotel for a family event we had in the area. They didn't have an iron or ironing board in the room and we had to ask for it at the main entrance to the compound. The young people there assured us we would get that brought to our room. We arrived after the "office" was closed, but it was like 5:30 pm, so still early. We never got the iron or board and my husband had to wear wrinkled clothes to a memorial service. The room was more rustic than a motel 6 and only a step above camping in a yogi bear cabin. We had our own bathroom, but the open community poach was filled with people who were staying there long term and was noisy and felt unwelcoming. It was a very uncomfortable stay and I wouldn't go back.

Fort Clark Springs is a nice oasis in the West Texas desert. We stayed there as a midpoint stop on our way back from Big Bend National Park. The cold spring water in the pool was perfect after a couple of days in 100 degree temps hiking around the park. The rooms were comfortable with good air conditioning with my only small complaint was older sheets and pillows. But I would recommend and would stay again.

High ceilings, even on the bottom floor made the standard rooms somewhat unusual. Everything was clean, functional and the heavy wood Texas style of furniture got the job done. I was skeptical of the air conditioner, but it worked beautifully. The front desk was helpful, but the rate for the room was a tad high, but there's the spring and all the other amenities, so overall it was a good value.

Nice far away and secluded out of town trip! Kids loved the swimming pool! Very Historic post that a History buff will love. General Patton was stationed there and the officer quarters are now hotels.

History and fun. This Hotel is made from old limestone building which was a barracks in 1800s Calvary fort . Hotel has One bed room units but there are many other places to stay. Individual homes in historical buildings have 2 beds Up to 8 bed room lodges. Large Family stayed in private lodge. While couples stayed in historical hotel at a much lower day rate than the houses. Spring fed pool. Deer and turkey on golf course. We kayak the creek. Drove to eagle pass to casino. Drove one day to Camp wood and had Deloris designs measure a few of us for custom coats. Floated on the river by Campwood. Drove to Delrio To SAS shoe manufacturer and bought shoes at a discount. Some of the group even went to Kickapoo park and climbed the cliffs. A group hunted axis at the fort and a few went to a private ranch and hunted hogs and axis. |Great times great place

Stayed one night in Fort Clark Springs Lodge to visit family nearby and will look at alternative arrangements (like sleeping in the car).||||No, really...it is a shame that so little is done with all of that really neat facility. It is in the midst of a slow fade into neglect and obscurity and the condition of the lodge speaks to the imminent demise. Expect cheap mattresses, flat pillows, dirty floors, peeling paint, busted trim, poorly thought and fitting furniture. Then there is low water pressure from cheap built-in bath fixtures, enclosures, and counters. All enhanced by a loud climate control system, street traffic, and the noise of other guests.||||Staying in the lodge is something you may have to do...because lodging is not abundant in the area - but it needs to be something you want to do (live in the history of the place). Or, seek other arrangements like a tent or a camper.||||It is special to walk around the Fort and take in the history. But the Fort itself is more closed, repurposed, and inching towards abandonment instead of being preserved and appreciated. You cannot even get a map of the Fort property showing hiking and cart trails. No one seems to care about the quality of any guests' experience.||||The region is full of history and the Fort should be a stop (very restricted museum hours) on a pass through the region. However, rethink a stay unless you are a history nut.

We stayed at the RV park there. Met a lot of locals and had an absolute blast. We will definitely be going back to see our new friends first chance we get. Park rates were reasonable, 19.95 a night for escapee's members. Park was clean and we'll maintained.

Grass along trails and creek 6 ft tall. Can hear creek but not see. About 3-4 ft . Grass in middle road trails at least 3 ft. tall. EVERY trail blocked by dead trees across trails for months. BUT send warnings about snakes. Only areas get mown are where future residents will see and of course beautiful golf course. Behind my unit weeds 5-6ft. Deer barely get through. No longer supply hunting dates or which trails closed. Was much better when they did. BUT it is beautiful & love the quiet.

It is beautifully maintained. I love how quiet and natural it feels. When walking over the old bridge you can see clear clean water and fish swimming in the river. The guard we met was friendly.

We visited to view homes for sale as we're considering moving there. We love the atmosphere. The wildlife viewing, we saw a flock of turkeys and deer! The amenities of being a resident has also made us want to live on the fort!

Beautiful place. Always a smiling face unless your housekeeping. My family had to ask numerous times for towels since we had children with us. They never delivered. I just so happen to catch housekeeping coming out of another room past ours a quarter to 3pm(mind you we had the service room sign outside our door since 1030a.m ) ONLY THEN is when we got the items we requested. I guess we weren't the only ones that did not get their room serviced. Cause once they were spotted all of a sudden everyone else was requesting items.. The rest of the Staff is courteous and tries to go the extra mile here. An upgrade i would suggest is a wheel chair ramp for the handicap room it was a little difficult getting the chair over the ramps n the lay out of the room is not quite wheel chair friendly not enough space for the chair n bed. The 4 stars is for the smiling n most helpful staff except the cleaning crew and the scenery oh yea n that Spring pool!!

Loved camping here. What a discover. Beautiful green and leafy, traffic far away, very helpful and friendly camp staff, clean ablutions, nice rec room. And the springs and swimming pool is divine. Lots of space, very special place just outside of Del Rio. Best Pizza is just across the road at the Pizza Outpost.

The staff here is amazing and very sweet and welcoming. They will do everything in their power to make sure your stay is comfortable. The history here is amazing!! The grounds are really beautiful and the deer are everywhere. The only thing I would suggest is that the beds were more comfortable. We really love our apartment here.

Had a chance to stay here while visiting family. Lovely little community within the town of Bracketville. They have a nice golf course here and a nice old fashion river fed swimming pool. There is also a movie theater and bar on the premises. It has a guarded entrance and the neighbors are close knot and watch out for each other.

This is a place to visit and do things like the swimming pool. It's water comes f a fresh water spring and if you want to cool off the is the place. Then if you feel like eating there are places on the Fort and just a few minutes away in town. There's also things to do like fishing in our creeks and see all the wildlife. There are even trails for hiking and golf carts. Lots more !

Very friendly campground that let us camp in the RV park at tent rates. Very interesting historical setting with loads of beautiful buildings in the area. Great rec room with kitchen and seating. Excellent showers. Bear in mind that once you get to the entrance, the actual campground is 2 miles away.

A great historical location to visit, talk to Phil at the museum, he is very knowledgeable about the fort's history. General George Patton was here as well as John Wayne. There is also an RV park on the premises and some great walking trails. Dog friendly, beware of cactus spines and sand spurs though.
