Horrible experience. I think they treat AAA calls as bottom of the barrel. The guy was incredibly rude and annoyed to be there and must have brought up that this was a AAA call a hundred times. I was stuck in the mud/water in the middle of a county road with my 7 year old TERRIFIED daughter. The water was deep so I wasn’t sure if my car would run once it was out so I asked the guy to stick around so I could find out first. He didn’t. He drove off without saying a single word and sure enough my car wouldn’t make it home. The guy kept telling me it would be $250 to help me any more than he had already helped. Keep in mind I was half a mile from home IF that. I called hatch’s and someone was there in less than 10 minutes and myself, my daughter, and my car were home in less than 20 minutes for $75. I would say the driver from paynes name but he never told me. Never had me sign anything like he’s supposed to. When I say he got in his truck and drove off completely unexpectedly that’s exactly what I mean. Call hatch’s if you want to be treated with decency.

My car was impounded after traffic stop. Process of getting car out was easy prices were fair. However in process of being towed my condenser on my AC was busted and everyone knows in Texas summer AC a must. So on top of fees to get back is another 300 to fix my AC.

Great service! We broke down in our F250 pulling a 37' travel trailer. Called AAA and they quickly got Payne's involved. This was on Memorial Day late afternoon and Crystal called me within 5 minutes. She wasn't sure AAA was going to cover the travel trailer because they hadn't told her that I had one. She called them and got it straightened out. Harley called to give us an ETA as he was on his way. Within an hour of my initial phone call we had an F650 roll back there ready to get us hooked up and towed home ( about 90 miles). Harley loaded the F250 on the roll back and hooked the travel trailer to a ball on the wheel lift. We were quickly on our way. He drove safely and was well aware that he had our pride and joy hooked up back there. The bottom line is that they got to us quickly, were very courteous, and got us home safe and sound. I would recommend them to anyone.

I broke down on top of I10 port Naches Bridge 6:00 am called three other places said be around 2 hrs . I called Payne's, and the nice lady said 30 min or less. Tim showed up and was amazing, Hero of the day. They didn't charge me a fortune either. Will recommend it to everyone.

I call AAA to get my car towed at 12:15 they told me the wrecker would be there at 2:33. At 3.33 I called AAA To find out what is the delay they told me the driver will call me in a few minutes. Finally at 4:30 I called AAA back and asked them what the delay was they said I will contact them again, at that point I was tired of sitting in the sun and heat, I told them I will get a ride home and Payne's towing can contact me when they are on the way. Finally at 7:10 in the evening I called AAA back they finally told me Dwayne's wrecker services declined picking up my car. Imagine if I did not have an alternative way home in the heat and sun that is beating down on my head with a lack of water what would have happened to me health wise. Paynes wrecker service should be avoided at all cost, their service needs something to be desired. On the up side if they have a contract with AAA that they can no longer commit too let them know and cancel your contract, for what ever reason instead of leaving clients out in the heat for hours.

Got locked outside my vehicle at 10:50p. It's 36 degrees outside. My Verizon Roadside Assistance dispatched the call to Payne's. After 15 minutes, my coworker called AAA hoping for a faster ETA since mine was 12:28. She got Payne's as well, but with 20 minute ETA. I called the tow company hoping for a faster time and was told they would be here soon. My coworker called and was told less than 60 minutes. After 75 minutes, she called back and was told the driver had finished his first call, and had gone home. So, he called stating it would be another 20 minutes. All and all, we're 2 females in a mall parking lot at 11:36pm in 36 degree weather waiting on a guy who went home to his warm bed because the dispatcher, Mary, cancelled my service cm. When the driver arrived, he couldn't touch my vehicle because she hadn't sent him the right information. When I called, she said she sent it to another driver. Who didn't respond. Mary exuded incompetence and a lack of integrity. I hope she does not reflect the level of integrity, consideration, and professionalism that Payne's embodies. That being said, I appreciate Damien's service and level of professionalism.

Worst service ever. Another record service had to be called to return my car home after waiting for Payne Wrecker Service 2 days. They never came at any of the times they quoted. My car was at the shop 2 days. Returned after 12:00 A.M. by a wrecker service from Jasper, Texas. I called Payne wrecker personally several times.They stated on the second day around 3:00 there was no record of me needing service. Tripple AAA was first called for service. Tripple A call Paine everytine. Paine driver appear to come when they feel like working. AAA service was also poor concerning getting thing done in a timely manner. I am a 9 year member. Only used this service once before with this car. 4 or 5 times total in 9 yeard between me and my daughter. I never got good record service from Payne. I am just happy it wasn't me stranded in an unsafe place. It made no difference that they were aware I am a senior citizen.

This company left me stranded for over 8 hours. When they finally called me after being dispatched by AAA, they continued to make multiple excuses on why they couldn't come pick up my vehicle!! DO NOT CALL this company to recover a vehicle. It's obvious by reading multiple reviews that this company is not in the business of helping people who are broke down. They left me (a disabled veteran) on the side of the road and NEVER SHOWED UP. Terrible customer service!!

I contacted Payne's at 7:51 am, was informed by the dispatcher the ETA was about 90 minutes. I asked for someone to please contact me prior to arrival so that I could be in route, which I actually arrived around 830am due to working with someone else's schedule. I contacted Payne's again at 9:30am and was informed trying to find a driver, ETA is about 45minutes. I was very upset because I had been waiting and the ETA window was over. I would have been okay with just a simple call that my tow is running late, it will be another.....minutes. Dispatch/office deserves 1 star. Driver deserves 5.

Called AAA at 5:46pm for a tow and they called Paynes and said the would be there by 7:19pm called back at 8:00pm to AAA saying there is no one is answering now. By 9:30pm I called to cancel because u can't sit that long in a car waiting with two children 4 and 6 not right at all. Paynes wrecker is only 26 minutes away. If u can't do your job in a timely manner then get off of AAA's list.

Deserves No Stars. The battery had stopped on my truck around 2am in a parking lot. I called my Roadside assistance and they sent me a text saying this tow service was coming within 75 mins. I live in Lake Charles and was a little surprised the tow service was coming from Beaumont. I just figured they would be the fastest that maybe all the other tow companies were tied up with wrecks or other services. My phone was nearly dead and I just had a light jacket on (was just supposed to be gone for 15 mins, didn't think I would be stuck and without heat). I was sitting in the truck, 46 degrees outside for nearly two hours. I forwarded the confirmation text to my husband and asked him to call to find out where the wrecker was at. My phone kept shutting off due to the battery. I ended up trying the truck again and it started with no battery light. I was able to plug in my phone and I found out they CANCELED the service saying it was to far, without notifying anyone. Not me nor my roadside assistance. They left me sitting in the cold with a dead phone, alone, when they could have easily notified my R.A to get another wrecker or not even accepted the job. Luckily I was able to drive the truck home and make it safely home.

If they allowed for a negative star I would give them a negative 10. My husband has been disabled on the road waiting on them to come since 9:40 AM this morning. They said 2 hrs. Well that time has surely passed since it’s now 5:31 PM! They keep giving him the runaround and now they are saying 10:30 PM! The only reason he is still waiting is because that’s the only company AAA uses in our area. They have had excuse after excuse as to why they haven’t shown up yet. Never again will we do business with them and probably won’t renew our AAA either. Run .... You may get there faster! I would NOT recommend this company to anyone!!!

I had been to a donut shop on eastex freeway-- I get my order and proceded north to turn right at the road next to a lawnmower shop. AFter I had turned I was going towards hwy 105, this dangerous payne flat bed blue cab truck driver is coming up from a little side road that heads west to connect with old dowlen rd. As I was going by the side road this payne truck driver runs the stop sign and would have broadsided me if I had been going slower. He turns north with no blinker, just before I got into the turn lane to turn west on hwy 105, the wrecker dude turns left into valero again with no blinker. I made my turn left for hwy 105 and then headed west. I moved a little later into the outside lane, I looked in my rear view mirror and look this payne truck driver had left the valero and turned left again with no blinker. A little ways behind me and he is in the inside line he hits thre gas hard and flys by me- speed limit is 45. I proceded west with him way out in front of me, then he hits his brakes hard and turns into jack's which is on the right with no blinker. Putting my life in danger and others just to get to jacks. If the nut was in a hurry why the heck stop.

I was on my way home from laccassin Louisiana hit something was down, the first tow from a different company would only bring it to modica on 16 Street in orange. The next had I called and had Payne bring it to Walmart in orange. Told him id meet him at my car with the keys. He said around 60minutes. Legit 15minutes later he was there waiting on me. He was super quick. Brought my focus to Walmart, I followed. The guy was amazing, funny. He cared about my needs. He asked questions, he was very gentle and took extra care of my car loading and unloading. I can't remember his name to save my life. But this guy, 1 to 10, I give him a 100. He went beyond what I was expecting. He was fast, on-time, courteous, and a heart of gold. If it wasn't for covid id probably hugged the guy. You have a forever customer. That's for sure

This was the worst tow service I have ever received. The driver did not know what he was doing. He left the keys in the ignition of my car on wich completely ran down my battery. He had his girlfriend in the truck with us and they were playing with lego toys!!! also texting waile driving. Then the driver sheered off my tow wires and almost smashed my fuel tank because he rolled my car of the ramp too fast. Also damaged my brake wires. When I called payne towing the lady was nice at first and said she would get a mechanic to call me back.... he never called me back. Know I am stuck with a damaged car. Please never ever use this company. I have filed a complaint with aaa. They should not use this business!
