Was contacted by insurance at 330pm to pick up our truck on the side of i35. At 445 Always called to say it would be another hour. Because the driver decided to take another call first. Insurance called at 545 to find out what is going on. Was told another 90 minutes. It's 730pm and they are now saying another 45 minutes. Took dispatcher over 5 times to even get a hold of the driver. Greedy company should have said to our insurance to find another company when they decided to take another call first.
Thank you so much for no help. They have ruined our daughter's birthday as we have been waiting on the side of the road for hours. Insurance finally canceled and new tow company was there within 15 minutes.
Edited to add after their reply: As you can see per their reply... Nothing but lies have come from this company. First off this happened Friday AFTERNOON, not evening. Always driver called to tell us that they took two calls at the same time and pushed my husband off within the first hour then said it would be another hour at that point, so that would have brought us to 530pm. Second the wreck they are talking about in town... that happened between 10-11pm, we drove by it on our way back home after trying to salvage our daughter's birthday. Our truck had already been at the destination hours before that happened.
The second company that actually showed up was called and had it at the destination in an hour. So seems other companies don't have the staffing issues Always has. Even at that while we waited two other tow trucks stopped to ask us if we needed help or a tow. When we said we were waiting for Always, they went on their way.
Furthermore, our insurance had to call them TWICE to figure out where they were. They never called us or the insurance to cancel. The manager that ended up handling it told us more than once they will be investigating the company as this should have NEVER happened and it was inexcusable leaving someone on the side of interstate for 4+ hours. The second call they acutely did a 3 way call with us on the line to Always. The person that answered had nothing but excuse when he got on the line then gave the insurance manager attitude when she requested his name, even before he tried contacting the driver to figure out where they were. He ended up hanging up on the insurance.
Car died on the interstate outside of Waco, TX. Chris came to the rescue sooner than anticipated, and immediately got to work getting my car onto the truck. He helped diagnose the problem, and drove me to get a new battery instead of an expensive car repair shop. He even removed and installed the battery. This guy was awesome and so was the dispatcher when I called twice. I highly recommend Always Towing - great/helpful peoe!

This towing company charged me an illegal “TDLR fee” on top of the towing bill. In Texas, credit card fees or extra “TDLR” charges are not allowed by law — only the fees set by TDLR can be charged. Adding unauthorized fees is a violation of Texas regulations. On top of that, they were dishonest about the charges and left me with scratches on my car. Be careful — their business practices are not legal or fair.
This towing company was dishonest and overcharged me. To make things worse, my car was scratched while in their care. Very unprofessional and unacceptable service. I do not recommend this company.
We had two trucks that needed to be moved to another property. We called around to get the best price and the most reputable service. Always Towing gave us a fair quote and was able to come out and help us within the day we requested service. They sent out two trucks and made the job really easy! Nate was one of our drivers, he was very friendly and did a great job unloading right into the spot we requested. Would recommend to anyone looking for towing and recovery services.

Update: After I wrote this review, I realized I had left my sunglasses in Joe’s car. We reached out to him, and he confirmed he had them—he even sent a picture to prove they were mine. We tried to meet up to get them back, but our schedules didn’t line up, so we gave him our address and told him we’d cover the shipping costs. He agreed and said he’d send them.
Unfortunately, after that, we followed up several times and never heard back. These glasses had a lot of sentimental value, so it’s really disappointing to know he had them and just decided not to return them.
My tow driver was quick and extremely kind. Unfortunately I cannot remember his name (I want to say Chris?) but he deserves a raise. He actually waited with me to make sure the place I had it towed was going to help me, instead of just dumping the car and heading off. He made sure I was taken care of before he left. Extreme kindness!
John, the wrecker was very helpful and had a good attitude after being out all day. I was his third stop for the day and he still had a positive attitude willing to help anyway he could. Also showed me a way to put my car in neutral after I couldn’t get it to start up.
Not sure how you turn your car stopping on the highway into a good experience but John and Always Towing and Recovery made it a reality. John shared his location and showed up on time, had the car loaded quickly and clearly communicated about the drop off plan. Very thankful for his professional and efficient service.

I was able to meet Timothy on Wednesday after accident at Mallard and main here in Taylor. This was my first time seeing always towing and recovery so I asked him a question if they was new or had they been in the business a long time and he informed me that he had been here a few months but the business had been here for a while and I was truly shocked that the mannerism and professionalism that this individual display towards the company as well as his experience in removing and towing the vehicle. Got stranded on the side of the road. Called other towing companies they were charging far more than these guys with 2-3 hour wait. these guys came fast and got me and my vehicle home safely. I highly recommend them for towing services. Kirsten was friendly and very helpful!
I was in a wreck on the way to work in a nasty rainy day. JOE was dispatched to tow my truck. He was concerned about my well being and safety the whole time. A couple of weeks ago, just before dusk, our GMC Yukon's alternator failed on the I-35 service road in Salado Texas, with our daughter driving by herself. Larry Hayes of Always Towing and Recovery to the rescue! I talked to Larry as he was on the way and let him know where the Yukon was stranded and the situation. We provided pretty good directions/GPS coordinates, and Larry arrived within 45-50 minutes of our call. He continued to coordinate with us about taking the GMC to M&B Auto Repair in Belton TX and dropping our daughter off at the nearby Whataburger where she felt safe until she could be picked up. Our daughter said, "Larry was respectful and courteous, and communicated what he was doing and where we were going" throughout the towing process. As a parent, I felt incredibly relieved knowing my daughter was in such capable and caring hands. An added bonus ... the interior of the truck was very clean!

Absolutely disgraceful behavior from Always Towing in Taylor, TX. At around midnight, I witnessed them attempting to tow my neighbor’s car. The owner arrived before the vehicle was even fully hooked up, which under Texas law means the tow operator was required to release it without charging any fee. This is a clear and well-established rule under TDLR regulations.
Despite this, the tow driver refused to let the car go and insisted on payment. They exploited the fact that the owner was young and unsure of his rights, and they presented themselves with a fake sense of legal authority, essentially intimidating him into paying for something he shouldn’t have had to.
To make matters worse, I called the police, expecting them to uphold the law. But they stood by and did nothing, even after being informed of the applicable rule. This wasn’t a gray area. This was a blatant legal violation, and it was ignored by both the company and the officers present.
This company is predatory, dishonest, and takes advantage of people who don’t know the law. If they tow your vehicle, know your rights and be ready to document everything. I wouldn’t trust them with anything.
