Bought a transmission was a little faulty, but they fixed it within the warranty period. They are great, service was great. I'm coming back for sure for any future part I need. Thanks Rolando

I went into this place looking for a part and noticed they were swapping an engine in an old truck. They convinced me they could do mine too, so I decided to give them a shot. They told me it would take two weeks. Two weeks turned into excuse after excuse—every step of the job seemed to come with a “new problem they’d never seen before.”
Two months later, I finally got my truck back—of course, with problems. Within two days, the check engine light came on. I noticed the fuel gauge was reading backward, the whole thing just felt wrong. I didn’t even want to take it back to them to fix it.
Update: The oil pan started leaking. I figured maybe they hadn’t tightened it properly—even though they claimed to have used new gaskets and sealed the engine. I went to tighten the bolts myself and found two screws completely stripped, just spinning in place. On top of that, the rear main seal needs to be redone, and since their "warranty" is only one month, it’s apparently no longer their problem.
Update 2: They told me they reseal everything before installing any engine. That was a lie. I ended up paying another shop to do it right—basically paying for the same job twice. Now, to top it all off, I’ve discovered the heads are cracked. So not only did they lie and do a half-ass job, but now I’ve got to fix even more damage caused by their incompetence.
I can’t express how frustrating and expensive this entire experience has been. Do NOT take your truck to Tex-Mex Auto for an engine swap. They will screw you, leave you with more problems than you started.

On January 23 heading to work my 2000 F250 engine was finished at 400,000 miles. Pulling my hair out wondering who could help me get my baby back on the road. Called many mechanics but couldn't find the trust after having a conversation. So, a bright idea came to mind I have been doing business with Tex-Mex Auto and Truck Parts for many years. It was a long shot in my book.
So, I stopped in Tex-Mex Auto and Truck Parts first part of February asking if they could install another engine into my F250 the front desk man I had been dealing with for years said “YES”. Gave me a FAMILY price, just kidding but the price was right. As the work started, I would go by every day, until my mind relaxed saying these are people you can trust. So, I trusted them with more money and said put a transmission in while you are working on motor install. That’s what friends will do is take your money.
Thanks to Tex-Mex Auto and Truck Parts my 2000 F250 is back on the road, and the driver is VERRRRY HAPPYYY. Guess I will see Tex-Mex Auto and Truck Parts, after I have reached another 400,000 miles for engine and transmission.

I was in need of transmission for my 2015 gmc Yukon. They priced me the transmission. And also gave me a install price with warranty. And yes they do honor their warranty. Thank you tex- mex
My dad went to purchase something here and returned it since he ended up not using it. They gave him a “credit” to use it on a future purchase in a form of a receipt. He asked if he could take a photo of it and if that would be accepted when it needed to be used, they said yes no problem. Now that he is trying to use his credit they are saying he needs the actual receipt.
If yall return something make sure to get your money back they will just take back what they said and not give you any credits.
Replaced my engine in my Ram 5500 and communications went very well with manger Jr. Worked on every issue with my truck until I left very satisfied. Good work fellas!

I called them Friday to verify if they had some parts, they said they did. I called them Monday morning before making the 6 hour drive to their location to make sure they had the parts, they said they did. Lo and behold I show up and not a single part there. Terrible place, liars, dishonest people.
Sold me the wrong part the first time after talking to them 3 times before driving hour an half the first time.. talked to them 4 times the next day asking if they had the right part.. swore they had it an put hands on the part, it's here waiting.. got no part here now.. sending me to a different location
They said $20-$50 for used tires I drove 30 minutes to go out to look for this tire and came to cash out and they try to charge 100 for the used tire and there tire machine didn't work so rim was still on and try to make me pay for a deposit on the rim alone for $100 so $200.00 for 1 tire and 1 rim I didn't need I wouldn't go to any TEX-MEX SALVAGE YARDS.. BE CARFUL
I bought a rear end for my F-150 from this location Tex-Mex it happened to go out a week later but but the guys at Tex-Mex were more than happy to replace it under warranty right away and get me back on looking forward to updating my review once we see how the second rerend
The perfect place to find the part(s) you need when parts stores tell you they can’t help you or they want charge you some crazy price. So, next time you need practically anything this place should be the first place to look, not the last!!
Called asked for a compressor told me yes they had it , drove 1hr to pick up just to find out they never had it. Nobody knows who told me they had it, very sketchy place. Only take cash. No recipes given either. Buy at your own risk
Big Cat Auto Salvage referred me to Tex-Mex to find a replacement passenger side tail light for my truck. When I called Tex-Mex, they told me they had a tail light but it was LED so it would be more expensive than what I was looking for. I told them that I would take the light and that I'd be on my way to pick it up. I bought the light for $108, went home and tried to switch it out with my broken one but soon realized that I could not switch it out since it was designed differently. Called Tex-Mex to let them know that the light would not fit and was told to bring it back for a refund. When I brought the light back, two of the employees were kind enough to take the time out to see if they could get the light replaced. I am grateful to the two employees who took time out to switch the tail light for me and got it working. Overall, the $108 that I paid for the light and its installation (which they didn't have to do) was worth the service altogether. I recommend Tex-Mex and would definitely do business with them again and also refer others to Tex-Mex!!
I stopped by Tex Mex today there were two guys in there ,one was on the phone helping a customer the other was on his phone texting and he looked up when he looked up then look back down ,about 3 minutes later he directed me to the gentleman. In the back he got his car Jack never acknowledged me I would never suggest this place to anyone of color they ignore you the customer service is not good at all I had to give it one star just to give this review but they get a zero from me. Nice building though the outside looks better than the inside customer service zero
Didn't have the part I called in advance for and no one even ask if I needed help. So after standing around for an hour I asked one of the guys for the part I called in advance for. He said they didn't have it and that many people get lied to.
Oh man I have gotten 2 motors from them, both times I felt like the were honest and was treated with respect. I got a 30 day guarantee one of the motors is still in a Durango I still have and drive everyday. I'm now looking for more parts and they are the first place I turn.
It's a salvage yard! You just have to watch before you buy.
Do not go to this place man some Guy named Luis is the one ho sold me a used Motor 6.0 he told me it was good. i turn it on on my truck the crankshaft was messed up rod bearings were not good i had to pay a mechanic to fix it he made me waste more money and Luis he dint want to give me my money back or exchange the motor the day i went to do the purchase he was come get the motor my boos is not here i can give you a better deal
