Maverick Wrecker Design and Repair – Caution Advised
We were having our dollies repaired by Maverick Wrecker Design and Repair after they reached out to offer their services. We had been in contact with Kevin for quite some time, and he arranged UPS shipping with insurance for two dollies. We followed instructions and left both dollies at our residence for UPS pickup — both were picked up.
Later, Kevin claimed he only received one dolly, despite both being picked up together. He also mentioned this has happened with multiple other customers in the past, which raises concerns about their shipping and tracking process.
What’s more frustrating is that it took him 3–4 months to even respond to us about the issue. His solution was to charge us an additional $250 for the missing dolly — instead of investigating the issue properly or making it right.
It’s disappointing that a company would risk losing a long-time customer over $250, especially when the mistake seems to lie with the shipping carrier they chose. If this is how they handle problems, it’s likely there are other issues under the surface. Proceed with caution.
Chris Cook is a great guy to know. He and his crew always come through for us when we need them the most from replacement parts for our tow trucks to major repairs they get it done the correct way and a lot of times build it stronger than before.
Great place in Houston for all your Towing needs, they have tools, dollies, winch repair, they will build you a complete tow truck if you want them to.
Mr. Cook is a very knowledgeable and highly qualified to repair and/or replace anything that I have managed to screw up! Update still great and now has a fully stocked support shop!

I purchased a set of used Collins dollies & I'm very happy with my decision to go with Maverick. New Collins dollies are currently back ordered by 6+ months but Maverick had a set to me in only 3 days! Kevin & Chris took very good care of my company, I highly recommend Maverick & I will do business with them again in the future for sure!

Hope they will call me back. Like to get parts on order for my new truck. If I go to tow show I may find another builder. Update they did call back. My truck looks great. Just have to have patience. The place is looking good. Very helpful. Repaired my truck in a timely manner. Will be going back for future work.
This place is cool the guys that run it are pretty chill and can answer almost any questions you have. They usually have a person on site that can help resolve any issues.
