I pulled up to smiling faces which I love, but was then told they don't buy scrap steel. What? The only reason I am giving 3 stars is that they were so polite about it. I just don't understand, It looked to me like there was every kind on metal in their area, but no buying steel. Okay. I will find another place.

Hello these guys are real professional when you pull in they direct you where it convenient for you to get out and they start to unload your vehicle carefully so no damage is caused by the aluminum. There very nice guys speak great English and have a good conversation with you. The lady in the office is awesome I had forgot my scrap card and with no problem or hesitation she printed me a new one. And they are very fair on the prices of there recycled materials that they take. All and all I will be a return customer for sure thanks for the great conversation and great experience
These reviews are definitely fabricated just went here and the prices were completely out of range of other places. I scrap regularly in multiple cities, including Alvin Galveston and northern Houston Southern Houston. These people are the lowest in the city. If not the state, they are extremely rude and you are rushed. As far as integrity, how could you claim integrity if your scale is not in view

First time customer, haven't sold scrap in years and I came up on some good quality copper scrap wires so I decided on this place. It's exactly as you imagine a place that buys scrap in cash: cameras, fingerprint scanner, and bullet proof glass. So onto what matters then if your thinking of selling to them: accurate scale (very close to my informal weighing of scrap at home). This will make me a repeat customer, as you can take or leave everything else, but I will never give my business twice if i know I've been or felt cheated. Everything else is quick, efficient, and the workers answered all my annoying questions. One star was removed as my price per pound for certain metals was rounded down in cents, but since it was an honest mistake (and the weight was correct) I'll give it back as they immediately and without argument fixed it.
Gulf coast scrap metal is the best scrap yard in Houston. I recommend everyone go there. The customer service is amazing. They help you right away and are so kind. This is the only scrap company I will be going to for the rest of my life. Everyone please go there you won’t regret it!
I have nothing but great experiences with Gulf Coast Scrap Metal. From the owner, office staff, and drivers, everyone was very professional and personable. These guys were able to do what others couldn't by thinking outside the box and offering real solutions. I've used a handful of their competitors in past, even the $2 bill guy, but will guaranty any future business will stay with these amazing folks. I recommend to everyone!
Be careful! They dont clean under the platform of their scale so the weight was not correct. Thankfully I weighed my scrap before going - I recommend you do the same. Only after I complained did they clean under the platform and reweigh. Claimed it had been a "busy weekend" (I was there at 10am on a Monday and it was not busy at all when I was there - Plenty of time to clean IMO). I wont be back.
They took advantage of me! I am a woman and I went by myself and they took that opportunity to rip me off by MORE THAN $150!! Do not let the numerous positive reviews fool you - they are deceitful with a clever scam. I was quoted a surprisingly high price for my copper to get me in the door: $2.46 compared to the salvage-market price of $2.38 for #1 copper. It took me several weeks to meticulously sort, cut, clean and WEIGH my scrap copper. I had 180lbs of #1 and 50lbs of #2 and I took photos of each bin on the scale. I was reminded more than once that they would "honor" the price I was quoted. They oversold their moral image which made me feel both suspicious and guilty for the deal I was getting. Gulf Coast weighed it in at 120lbs for #1 (66% of the actual weight) and 35lbs for #2 (70%). I was surprised to receive a check for just $375 on a MINIMUM $525 load but by then it was too late. I understand that they are in the business to make money but under-weighing my scrap to accommodate an inflated selling price is more deceitful than the bait and switch (bait and steal!) that got me in there. It's infuriating that their con has so many people fooled.
I've been going to Gulf Coast Salvage for a few years. Most of the time I only have a little scrap trying to get gas money. They've always treated me nice no matter how little or much I brought. I've tried other salvage places around Houston, but none can compare to Gulf Coast. You can't replace customer service with a 2 dollar bill.

I went to this place for the first time and have to say Im very pleased. They gave me the best price for my metal and even sorted through it and seperated some of the metal that brought a higher price for me. I had taken the same mixture of metals to other scrap yards and they never bothered to try and seperate. They had a lot of people working to help unload and weigh metals, even on Saturday. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Next time I need a scrap yard, Gulf Coast will be my first choice and I have already recommended them to a couple of people.
There weights were right where I weigjed them before I took them in, and no I didnt tell them I jad weighed any of the metal.

I went there being a skeptic, cause being messed over so many times by other places i judge them the same. You will not find better prices no where, and you will not get cheated on the scale. I met the owner who name is Joe and told me he been in business for 30 years, i didn't want to hear that cause i was being a butt hole, and even then Joe treated me with respect like a true professional do. Well before i left I gained a good friend and a honest business man, and i will not do business elsewhere. Please dont take my word for it go up there and see for yourself. Gulf Coast Metal get 10 stars from me.
