Today was a challenging day for me. I called and requested a heavy-duty tow truck to move a truck out of a tow yard. The person I spoke with on the phone was very reasonable and respectful, which I appreciated.
However, when the driver arrived, things took a disappointing turn. There was no greeting, no handshake—he simply walked straight to the office and started talking to another driver. Once we began preparing for the tow, he kept coming up with excuses why he couldn’t get the trailer out. After we explained the situation clearly, he eventually agreed to try—but his attitude throughout was rude and dismissive.
What made matters worse was how he treated me and the two other men who were with me, both of whom are Black. His behavior made them uncomfortable to the point that they openly said they felt he was being racist. That’s a serious concern and completely unacceptable.
After he dropped the truck and trailer, I took a moment to speak to him. I told him, “What goes around comes around—everything in life is not about money.” I truly believe that. Respect and human decency should come first.
I’m leaving this review to speak directly to the owner: this is the kind of behavior that gives the towing industry a bad name. I’ve been in this business for years and own two towing companies myself—one in Virginia and one in Tennessee. I would never allow any of my drivers to treat a customer like this.
We all work hard and face enough challenges in this industry. Let’s not add to them by being disrespectful to each other. At the end of the day, we’re all just trying to make a living and support our families. A little respect and kindness can go a long way.

The staff was very professional and helpful with towing services. From the initial schedule tow request of my uncle's truck, until the completion of the truck tow destination, everything went smoothly and promptly.
My car died in the middle of Delaware. Got it off the main road to a side road. Called Spank's they were there in 30 minutes. Great driver, worked quickly and he dropped myself and the car at Turner's Automotive. AND The price was very reasonable. Call them if need their services! Highly recommend!

Used them twice recently. Dispatch was very courteous and helpful. Both wreckers arrived in a reasonable time and took great care not to do any damage.
Bottom line, there's no better outfit in the business. Always on-time, always available, always friendly, and always professional. I've used many of their services for nearly a decade, from equipment hauling, towing, and popping locks when my wife locks her keys in the car (I hope she doesn't read this...). Their prices are very competitive, but the service you get for your dollar is unmatched.

Dispatcher was really short on phone. Wouldnt even schedule an appointment to tow my car the next day. An entire 24 hours later and still wouldnt make an appointment. Horrible customer service. I spent my money with another local tow company that was happy to make an appointment.
I can't accuse but I will say before my vehicle reached the body shop it sat at Spankys for a few weeks. Before it reached the body shop I am now missing a Garmin, phone holder and everstart battery charger and even the change I kept for tolls.. Good way to treat a veteran and a USAA member. I understand they said to remove valuables but in all my years I never had anything taken and I was on foot.
I've never had such a delightful towing experience. The driver Mike was very knowledgeable about my truck and made the tow happen very quickly and efficiently. I wish all tow companies were as easy as this one. I almost would like to break down again in the area just to do this all over. I would highly recommend this company and if you get Mike as your driver, your one lucky SOB. Five stars
tried to call this morning for an emergency tow. lady on the phone said a driver would be calling me so i waited 10-15 min before calling another tow service. t&t tow got to me in 10 min. two hours later and i still havent got a call from spankys. way to leave someone stranded spankys. smh
My daughter wreaked on the freeway and they helped her safely off. Her car was put in for one night. We decided to get it out the next day which was a day they were closed. Called for someone to meet us. Waited awhile but was so nice with the price. Yes towing fees then storage does cost but the way they we're with my daughter and how upset she was. They cared and so did the officer who came on the scene.
Having car problems makes your day bad enough, knowing that your car has to be towed adds to that - nevertheless, knowing people as nice as the one that attended me that day can make up for it. A nice gentleman called Gregg helped me and my friend tow our car all the way to Houston, was comprehensive about the situation, and offered comfort through the whole ordeal. He even went out of his way to accompany us to the car rental office to make sure that we were taken care of, truly very thankful for his assistance.
Had my Mom's car hauled to Beaumont and back for some work. Requested a roll back because the car is not rare but uncommon, and both drivers (drop off and return) took very good care of the car. Very professional and on time. Excellent customer service and contact. Highly recommend Spanky's!
Never use these guys they are going to rip you off no matter what. These guys pay the police to get their tows and trust me the trucks pay for it . Pass on them no matter how you have to wait. O/O's don't take a chance they are going to screw you and when you fuss about the price they treaten to take your truck to the police impound and that's because they pay the police for their loads.
Awesome service. Called them and inmediately they picked up the phone, said the driver will be there shortly and he was. No time wasting, great price. Im glad the other guys didnt answer the call.
The Gentleman who helped us was very helpful. We broke down traveling he recommended a hotel put us in a safe area. He towed us to the hotel and I was able to fix my truck they next day. Thank you this is a A plus company
Was told to call when I arrived. The man didn't feel like doing the call lied about being here and left me stranded outside of their building at 9 pm until in the morning because I used all my extra money getting here to get my car. Out of all of their drivers and employees nobody could take the time out at 9pm to come give me my car after having me get brought and dropped off up here. I'm maybe 120 pounds and this place is in the hood
Overall, the experience was good. I called, with an answer, to receive a quote on towing a C7500, a rather large truck. The quote was pricey but affordable given the situation. I wanted other quotes before agreeing so I hung up and called back later to accept the quote. Customer service on the phone was very respectful and happy to assist me. However, the next day, the day I had scheduled for my truck to be towed, the driver comes to the property with a sour attitude. I believe the drive’s name was Mr Mike Zaloom. He complained about not being able to contact me, the driveway being too tight for the tow truck even though my large C7500 fit with ease, the spot that my truck broke down which I couldn’t help, and even how I planned to pay with a business check saying, “We normally don’t take checks. Only cash or credit cards”. The previous day I was told cards would have an additional 4% charge so have other means of payment besides a card. On the upside, the truck was well maintained, the company stayed with the price originally quoted, and they showed up on schedule. It was simply frustrating to put up with a bad attitude. After I had posted my review, the owner reached out to me to apologize for the unacceptable behavior from his employee. I believe he addressed the issue, and I plan to give the company another opportunity in the future when it presents itself.
Had a blowout on the Highway and immediately called Spanky’s. Phone was answered right away and I was told that they will have someone on their way ASAP! Within 30 minutes my truck was loaded up. Driver was very professional and gave me a ride to have my tire fixed! Definitely recommend! 100%
Dishonest company. Our driver was involved in semi-truck and trailer accident on the interstate I-10. We asked to be towed to a truck body shop and were told by Spanky's representative that they have a shop of their own and that their shop will be able to fix our truck. The tow operation of our truck and trailer was completed in 1.5 hours and the distance the equipment had to be towed was 16 miles. Upon arrival to the towing we learned that there is no body or repair shop and the truck and trailer was changed from towed status to impounded status. The charge for such service turned out to be $12,006.88 We had to pay that amount plus we had to use their service to take us another 6 miles down to the real repair shop which they charged us additional $525.00 which could be avoided when we asked them to take us to a repair shop right after the accident. We have been towed several times in many different states but we have never gotten charged over $12,000 and had our truck impounded for regular tow of 16 miles distance that was completed in under two hours from start to finish. Stay away !!!

Water pump or radiator blew while running errands in Beaumont and was on the road being towed within 50 mins of calling the office. Very quick. Awesome service, professional and honest to God good people. After I was towed home I left my wallet in the tow truck and was later met 13 minutes from my home before Memorial weekend. Big Thanks to Glen and the Boss man, best service in all of SETX.
Rude I had to wait 4hours he kept saying he was on his way sometimes they wouldn't answer sent me to voicemail after they told me it would only be a hour. I asked do you take cash or credit the mantold me if my friend credit card worked he would take it . What kind of customer service is that . The worst experience in my life in Sour Lake with this towing compnay .
Called at 12 in the morning to assist my daughter stranded on 59. They said a driver would call her when they were on the way. After 30-45 minutes we didn't here anything. We called to follow up and no one answered the phone. No one ever showed up either!!! I don't recommend!!!!

Price was as quoted. Very professional driver who had a great attitude. Would recommend using this company for any towing needs. They towed me 100 miles plus a trailer for a reasonable fee in the middle of the night. They had the right equipment to do the job.
This company makes me sick. I got into a car accident and they were the company called to assist. I called to go get me belongings and vehicle and they told me that MY CAR BURNED TO THE GROUND! They never unhooked my battery and blamed me for all of the damages and damages to vehicles around it. The owner is a rude and nasty man who wouldn't even reason with me when I explained this was there responsibility to take safety precautions to avoid problems like this. He was just insincere amd absolutely rude. He is tryingto make me responsible for not only replaceing my vehicle but paying for the damages to the other vehicles around it. Not to mention all of my belongings, sentimental unreplaceable items are lost due to their careless and horrible business.
