I prepaid for a transmission on the 6th without seeing it first. They said I'd have to pay in full before they would start removing it from the vehicle it was in. I didn't mind that because of the good reviews, and they told me I could come pick it up once they got it pulled. Initially, the guy on the phone said I'd have to drive all the way to Dallas (I live in Aledo, outside of Fort Worth) to pay and to bring the core, or else I'd have to pay for the core charge. As a business owner, just hearing that was ridiculous because what if the transmission didn't end up working out? Then I'd be left with a vehicle stuck in the one lift I have without a transmission. I stuck with them because I liked the price and low mileage of what I'd eventually be receiving. Eventually, I was allowed to pay through Zelle remotely, and they started the process to get the part out of their vehicle. DFW received 1-2 inches of snow on the 9th and 10th, but I was still running my business because the roads did not freeze, and it was above freezing temps when the sun was out. I attempted to call A-1 Rylie to check on my purchased transmission both days, and it turns out they had closed for the weather. I needed the part to complete a job for a customer so we would both not be waiting. I was able to find another transmission at another place on Saturday the 11th so that I could complete that job and move onto my other waiting customers. The job got done on the 11th as promised to my customer. Today, the 14th, I finally got ahold of A-1 Rylie to tell them that I would need a refund for the transmission I did not pick up yet because I had found another option. I was supposed to have already gotten a call telling me the part is pulled and ready for pick up. I have not received any calls from them, even though they claim to have called me (I'm a business owner; I answer all calls or return them when I can). I'll also note that I did not receive any receipt for the transaction because I have not picked up the part yet. Talking with them on the phone today, I was told that I would need to pay a 25% restocking fee, and the only way they can refund me is for me to drive all the way to Dallas to receive the refund. I am outraged because not only did I receive bad customer service from the start, but I am also being penalized for restocking a part that has not yet left their "stock" in the first place. I was promised to get the transmission at a certain time, and they failed to do that or communicate with me. I have a business to run. I was not informed of any "restocking fee" beforehand, nor did they provide me with any documentation providing that information. It is not stated on their website either. So, I was forced to get back 75% of my money for a transmission I never received and drive all the way to Dallas just for that. After driving all the way there I was refunded back through Zelle (did not need to be present for this). I was told I needed to come out for "paperwork" just so he could point at the sign within their facilities about the restocking fee. I did not have any "paperwork" to sign on my part either. I understand closing for "ice days" but I don't understand charging a restocking fee for bad communication on their part and an unmet delivery time of a part I never got. Keep your money. Thanks for wasting my Tuesday driving all the way to Dallas. I will never do business with you guys again.
