Poor customer service bad prices and unprofessional. Waste of time if you are scraping. Low ball prices.

Love doing business here. Friendly staff, great prices and they get you out quickly. Can’t recommend them enough.

Not sure why I was only given .10 lbs? Not even given an explanation. Never taking anything to this place again.

Only had a moment to post the review and wanted to ensure that it was present as well as the entrance for the business was updated. Google Maps took me to what I'd consider to be the exit. I submitted a better pin drop for the entrance. Now as to the business itself. Beyond friendly. Great folks! I had some steel pipes from a canopy that I didn't want to hit the landfill and didn't want city normal recycling to reject. They were straight with me that they cannot pay, but would ensure proper recycling. If the need arises, I will be back and urge all y'all to do the same. Keep it out of the landfill and give the repurposing a chance.

Do not bother stopping here. They are very picky on what metals they will buy. They will not buy any steel or iron. Very rude attitude for a "Community" organization.

Good place to go to pretty timely respectful professional bunch of cool stuff inside

I do not recommend coming here. I brought in about 14 lbs of stripped 1/0 battery cable(no solder, tips or corrosion) and they counted it as #2 copper. This copper wire was shiny with no issues, met all the standards of #1 and they cheated me. Bad business.

These guys are a great . Friendly staff. Great price. They get you in and out quickly …

They want you to pull through a bay that is littered with nails and debris. I asked the guy before I drove back there," Am I going to get a flat driving back there?" His response, " No, we sweep it twice a day." When I drove back, there were screws and nails and other sharp debris all over the ground. The guy looked right at me and lied to my face. Maybe they will buy you new tires. I wish I took photos

Great business to work with! We were able to clean out the mystery corner in my garage and they took all the old brass pots & figures we’ve been accumulating. RECYCLE PLANO! Thank You!!!

Community Recycling has been a great place to take various metals over the years and treat you fairly. They offer competitive pricing and a family run business in the heart of Plano. Happy to support them and would recommend them to anyone.

Wish you could do have stars, would do a four and a half star rating. The half star was for their lack of paying out for steel and tin. Otherwise no fuss no muss, brought my stuff in separated out like it need to be and everything went on the scale without a problem. Straightforward on what they take and what they don't and pricing. And no false advertisement on what they pay for stuff. I'm not going to mention names of other places I've been that advertise 'highest prices paid for everything' because I don't want none of that Action for defamation or being lied to by a recycler. And across from Dallas over an Old fort Worth another place that also offered similar higher payouts then most places which was also a lie except for on Romex which was insanely higher per pound then the insulated wire most cases would pay out for it still in the casing. Bottom line is I'm pretty sure a lot of the lower than average or near average reviews of this place are mostly just personal problems. Know what you're doing folks, separate your stuff out and bring it in separated properly there's not going to be any issue of not getting what you think you're supposed to for it. Don't go play dumb like you're not sure what you have, that's for the birds. And if you not sure what you have I'm sure if you let him know they'll check it for you and honestly tell you what you got. I saw two different people have that go on while I was there neither of them were unhappy except for the guy that had to go load all his steel and 10 back up cuz he didn't have anything else.

Told me they buy steel I spent the time to unload it and then told me “oh we don’t buy steel” so I just left it, not worth trying to dig it all out. Even there front sign says we buy all metals

Depending on which employee is there you may or may not get their best deal. I have gotten fluctuations in the rates they pay just because of who I deal with. I don't have lots of stuff so it only means a few dollars to $10 in what I'm paid out but still its inconsistent

It was my first time coming here. Very friendly crew and easy to work with! I am definitely coming back

This was my first time scrapping metal and these guys made it super easy. Fair pricing, and very friendly group of fellas. To be honest I was nervous and wasn't sure what to expect, but I promised a neighbor that I would do it for him since he can't physically and we are both very grateful. Thanks guys! I will be back

I've scrapped here about a dozen times and always had a good experience. It's so much fun to see my busted radiator go away and get paid for it, TBH. Super nice guys and fair.

Used to be great years ago when the older guys were there. Now its just the younger guy who tells the help to throw the #8 insulated stranded copper wire in with the cat5. Time to find a new recycler.

This place is great! They always give me a fair price and they're very easy to deal with. I will continue to bring all my scrap to community recycling.

Boss is a con. Offers .10 per lb when he makes over double that. Tries to use inaccurate data. Encore paying .22 a lb. do not go here, they will con you out of money and act like they’re doing favors.

I've been here on three separate occasions. Each time the owner had some reason they could not pay me for the steel or aluminum but they were willing to take it so I don't get charged at the dump. Fortunately for me his crew didn't know I'm bilingual and understood when they bragged about how the boss was ripping me off. I don't recommend this place.

Fast and easy, and they allowed me to get a cash card the first day immediately and were very quick to weigh and pay me. Edit. After years of going here and receiving a fake $100 bill I will no longer do business here. My fault for being trusting and another lesson learned to pay more attention.

Community Recycling is a small yet convenient metal scrap yard. A father and son operation and their employees are quick and nice. They have fair prices and will remember your face. Also, because they are on a small lot they dont ha e the space to buy steel in large Amouns.

I see many complaints, but I don't understand what people were expecting. Of course they turn in the material for a profit. How else will they maintain a business and pay employees? This is not a city facility. I was offered $0.3/lbs for the aluminum, accepted the offer, and was happy to offload the material in an environment-friendly manner without driving too far and going out of my way.

Liars!!!!!!!!!!! Called before hand to check prices .. workers seemed to hate their job.. sold my metals got paid .64 cents a pd. for yellow brass, I was told 1.40 had 110 pds of it saved up.. theives would rate 0 stars if I could. Do not come here...

Rude owner. Deceiving sign. They DO NOT buy "all metals" or computer boards. I went there with a car load full of scrap metal. I had everything unloaded and when the guy finally came out, he looked at it and said it was all junk and he wouldn't take any of it. He said something to the workers in Spanish and everyone left. I had to put everything back in the car by myself. Of course it was junk, that's why it's called "scrap" metal. The people at Encore Recycling in Garland are much nicer. It's a longer drive but they really do buy "all metal" and at much better prices.

Rude for no reason. Teri, I check scrap prices and know what they bring before I get here. This guy is gonna try to rip off everyone that comes through the gate all day every day!

My exp. Here was awful. Complete waste of time. He told my 12 yr old that his cans were worth .20 cents a pound. Called up some onne else and they said .40 This guy takes advantage of anyone. Even kids. Thats just low and cheap

Thieves.. i brought a 16 ft trailer full to the top (5ft)of steel, iron, and aluminum and they said $15 was all it was worth. Went elsewhere the same day, got $85

I have been taking my aluminum recycle to them for years and have always got excellent service and prices. They even misquoted me a price on recycle that was too high and stuck with it when I got there and dropped off the aluminum. Very honest business men.
