If I could give a negative rating I would. These a holes towed a rented golf cart of a handicapped person that couldnt park in a handicap spot cause some non handicapped idiot parked there. There was a handicapped sign on the golf cart. Then refused to give any sort of discount or help towards the disabled person after having them pay $278 to get the rental back. Also made fun of the situation said cant leave the cart "floating" like its a boat
$300 towing fee, everybody needs to contact City commissioners and state representatives to change laws, for example having posted larger distinguisher no parking signs as soon as you go into the premises and exit. The restricted sign should be bold and larger than anybody can see without glasses from the inside of your car. Currently this is a great gimmick for the parking lot owners and towing companies to make fast easy money on people's oversight not paying attention to the little signs on the premises.
This appears to be a rip off company. Just because you have a license, you don’t have a right to rip people off. My wife took our two grandchildren ages 6 and 8 to candy store next door and was in there for 10 minutes. She came out and car was gone. She had to pay $250 plus a 4% credit card fee to get it out. The fenced yard was less than 50 feet from candy store which makes me wonder about them too. The parking was crowded and this is an empty office building where a fence hides the towed cars. He made her wait while he pulled another car and a golf cart in as well. No legitimate business would want to locate in that building. Who would knowing their customers might be towed away while doing business there. It doesn’t show well for South Padre Island who gets sales tax revenue from these businesses. We will not be going to any of those businesses we have visited for many years because of this crooked business. I urge others to use caution and several people have indicated this as well. It may be legal action should be taken here and especially if any damages were made to your vehicle as I am having ours checked out.
HORRIBLE PEOPLE! They really do go out fishing for people’s money. If you guys have a newer car and see them around call the cops, they will find the smallest thing to take your car. Was parked in a parking area who was no longer open and did not need payment. Where there was about 10+ cars there as well. Had to pay $200 which probably doesn’t even go towards the company but themselves. Also stated they couldn’t take payment had to be cash only. Very fishy of them. SEE THEM REPORT THEM. The worst towing company!!! They make you wait for ever to get your vehicle!! They are super rude! And I swear they have some kind of scheme going on with the candy store to pick up your vehicle as soon s you park across the street so they can come tow your car. We were parked maybe 10 minutes by the time we got called told by another customer that saw our vehicle being towed away. And it took us 3 hrs to get it back because they were so busy towing other vehicles they couldn’t come attend us. Worst time ever!! Ruined our day and vacation.
These people will take your vehicle even with a parking permit. It’s like they can steal cars because they have a towing license. Very unprofessional and no explanations given. Ruins anyone’s trip to SPI.
Beware of these theives, they towed my car in spi from a hotel I was staying at even though I had proof of my permit, they cannot keep getting away with this! It’s ridiculous, I was charged $277 and they knew they were in the wrong!
My vehicle was towed not even an hour after parking by rancho towing they stay and monitor the hotel and tow as many cars as possible they said they saw me get out of my vehicle and then towed and was laughing about it they said they have a contract with holiday inn to tow as many cars do not stay here this is their sign for towing not easy to see at all 400$ to get out your car
Very unprofessional. They go around places fishing for $ checking who they can steal from. My parking permit was in my vehicle the whole time but since we were RIGHT. and they were wrong, this employee didnt even make eye contact. These are such rude people. Rancho towing towed my vehicle on 9/2 for being parked at the Roadhouse parking lot.
Also and unfortunately, my experience was marred by the rude behavior of the staff. While I tried to mediate the misunderstanding I was taken aback by how rude, unfairly and unkind I was treated.
I believe that customer service is crucial in any business, and a negative attitude can overshadow even the best products or services. I hope that the management addresses this issue, as I would love to see improvements in how customers are treated in the future.
This company is really out to get people. My teenage son parked at Sunrise Bakery after hours while he ate at Wingstop. The tow truck shows up right when he is walking to his car and the man proceeds to start towing process, while my son is frantically telling him to stop. The man ignores him and lifts car up then asks what he wants. The law states if car isn’t attached to tow truck, no charges will accrue. I understand my teenage son parked where he wasn’t supposed to and I understand the law, but my son was there before guy even did anything, yet the guy proceeded to ignore my son . I called company to ask why this happened . Guy says he has a contract with Sunrise Bakery and many other business in SPI and all he does is drive around to get cars towed. I asked for proof that the car was parked illegally and he refused to give me proof . It’s my car I’m the owner I deserve to see proof. Also , he told my son he would drop it if my son paid cash $125 .
No receipt, no proof. He took advantage of my teenagers naivety. How is this legal to charge someone and not give the person proof or a receipt? I have told my son to be mindful of where he parks. I would appreciate a receipt and proof

Sold my car for salvage 3.5 years ago and these people just sent me a $500 impound bill for a car i don't own from a town 5 hours away from my house. Called them and got yelled at in Spanish by some lady and she then hung up on me. Filed a complaint with the State of Texas, hopefully they will move on these Thieves..
This company towed my vehicle from the parking lot right next to Lou’s. We called right when they were towing it and they charged us an arm and a leg $270 dollars down the drain. Well maybe not bc it’s lining their pockets. Also they only take cash.
Do not recommend this place at all. I honestly thought my truck was gonna be stolen by some random person with a tow hitch. I had parked in a parking lot I guess I was parked wrong or did something wrong. But once I walk away from my truck I here a bunch of noise behind me so I look and some kid is guiding the tow truck towards my truck and this tow truck had no sign or anything. So I yelled at the kid to ask what’s going on and he freaking ran like a thief. I called the cops to report the vehicle I saw and they told me it was more than likely this company because they have been getting similar calls. How unprofessional of them freaking idiots.
Scam. I was towed from a place there was no signs and was public parking. When I told them this they did not care. I was towed for 30 minutes and charged 277.00. I made payment and then they told me they hadn't recieved I called cops to make a report and suddenly they recieved. Leo was the front desk person and decided it was okay to use foul language when I decided to call police and make report. As soon as I called police they suddenly recieved payment and Leo decided to cuss me put. Trash company and trash employees. Consulting with lawyer on illegal towing and fee's.
This company works with hotels be careful have your permit in your car because they will tow your car they charge you alot. Just want to steal your money. Be safe out there and not come in contact with these people ever.
Extremely rude and unethical man. You can not reason through his mind one bit. He picked up my vehicle from my apartment complex because “I didn’t have a tag that I lived there” and i’ve lived there 10 years. I honestly thought my truck was stolen when I woke up this morning but then I call the police and they tell me it has been towed. Was not violating nothing on the apartments, like I said I’ve lived there 10 years so I know the rules. The point of this is that they do not reason and even want to charge you more than what they have to charge. It’s suppose to be $320 legally but they charge more. Moral of the story, if you see this people tow your vehicle, don’t even try to talk to them. They have even towed government vehicles and not even reason with them.
My family was on vacation down in south padre this past weekend and quickly went into a gift shop. Within 10 minutes we exited and our car was gone. They are such vultures when it comes to taking advantage of people and their situations with no remorse. They are very rude and short tempered. Disrespectful isn’t even the word. They have you between a rock and a hard place and they know it. They ruined our vacation and we will never be returning to this island. We saw them actively break the bed of a very expensive truck while we were there. And they weren’t going to say a word. I informed the owner of the truck on what we saw happened when he got there and when he want to check it the bed of his truck was completely broken. I would leave a 0 star review if I could!!!
Horrible towers, my parents stayed over and were parked on the grass overnight, but were leaving in the morning. They got up early to leave and their car was towed $340, they said $330 on the phone and added $10 more dollars when they got there.
-1 stars, I was parked at peak bay apartments in Laguna Vista for literally 15 mins to drop something off to my boyfriend and when I went back outside they had towed my car, yes there's a sign that says 24/7 towing but I was there for 15 mins and when me and my dad went to pick up my car. my dad had asked when they start towing because these people literally only come at night to tow cars, the person at the desk proceeded to say oh we start at 10pm and then proceeded to tell us they only tow one car out of the whole parking lot then go back to the company and stay there. I'm sorry but there are cars here too who don't belong here!!!!! and keep in mind when I got my car back I I drove home with bald spots from them dragging my car to exceeded points.
Beware of these guys we parked at moonlight circle in spi. We parked before the private property signs. Came back a hour and half later with my jeep gone. We called them asked if they had my jeep and they asked for the color. I told them and they said it was in port Isabel! I said it was just me and my boyfriend how are we suppose to get there and the guy on the phone said you can get a taxi or a Uber. I was seething with anger at this point. My BF talked to them and asked how we got towed and the guy said the only public parking spots were the first 3 spaces! When we got over to the lot where my jeep was I called them to let me so I could get my jeep out and the guy on the phone kept telling me where it was at. And I had to keep repeating I know I’m staring at my jeep. I had to repeat myself 5 times before my BF got mad and took the phone from he and the guy tried to do the same thing to him but my bf told him to quit giving him the round and the guy finally said ok we’ll be there in 10. When they finally got there they wouldn’t let my BF come in with me only one person. I was alittle uncomfortable at this cause I was in a bikini (my clothes were in the jeep!). When everything was said and done they charged me a storage fee!! My jeep was even there a hour! And when I asked the guy if we got called on he couldn’t really tell me and from his hand motions the were savaging for vehicles and they saw mine
Crooks. I had to pay 300 dollars for parking across the restaurant we were dining in. Coming out, our vehicle was gone. Really reconsidering ever going to SPI. This is really unacceptable. They make no money so they do this type of thing.
These people rip people off and steal people’s hard earned money. We parked outside Roadhouse in Brownsville for less than an hour and supposedly there was a towing sign but it was completely hidden behind the large trashcans and trees. $350 for towing. It’s disgusting. No one called them, they are probably paying someone to observe, since they towed it 5 min after we parked.
I wish I could give a zero star rating. This company is literally just thieves. I stayed at the Blue Bay inn and my parking pass slipped off my dash, but was still visible. They towed my car at midnight, across the bridge and into impound. They had no mercy for us, even though we stayed at the hotel and had a permit. I tried to call their boss and he pretended to speak no English and hung up on me. They charged us $273 for stealing my car off private property. Idk how they can get away with this but it seems very scummy and they're preying on the tourists of SPI.
I know I won't be vacationing here again now and I hope anyone reading this will reconsider their vacation destination.
These people will try and con you! They first gave a price of $273 then they stated it would be a price of $400 unless a title could be provided!! How can a title be provided when the vehicle is still being paid for?! Apparently they towed only the luxury cars that were parked! They left all the other vehicles parked in the same spots. Beware spring breakers they are on the prowl looking to scam you all!!! Horrible experience.
This is the second time the company has towed my car. They squeezed 400$ out of me the first time to get my car out! They also told me my car would not be towed again. I had a parking permit on my car the first time. It doesn’t help that where I live the managers never answer their phone and are never in the office for me to get the right permit. Mind you I have to drive from port Isabel to Brownsville. Everyday to try to catch them in the office. I feel like I am being scammed by both Peak Bay managers office and Rancho towing company.
RUDE people targeting tourists. Truly take advantage of honest people brining revenue to the island. They targeted my wife and I at Blue Bay Inn when we parked there to shop. They know full well that this location DID NOT have PROPER TOWING SIGNAGE. Less than ten minutes later we were towed and mind you that we spent about 3 minutes taking pictures outside of the Jaws store. They clearly saw us walk over after we parked there and instead of having some courtesy and letting us know that we shouldn't park there, they took our vehicle when we entered the store. While waiting on cab to get our car, dozens of patrons did the same.. Hotel staff must have a deal going on with this company, making money at the expense of tourists. So sad.
