Helpful, good service. my parts available within 24 hrs. I was able to pay a small fee & have my part installed. My cost was about 1/3 of what the dealer wanted to charge for same. Highly recommend!
Worst transmission shop I have ever encountered. Took transmission to have rebuilt, They charged me $1k, got it back 2 months later, installed it and within 20 miles it was burnt up. This time I rented a haul dollie for $60 and towed it to them.They had it for like 2 more months and when I'd call they would give me the run around. Finally went to pick it up Again! Left their shop and within 5 minutes it started shuttering at 55 mph, turned around and took it back and the next day they said it was the fuel pump and charged me another $350. Went and picked it up again and within a week it was running hot so I put an external cooler on that cost me another $100. Didn't do any good it was already burnt up again after 200 miles. I was not towing it to them again. They came and picked the truck up and did who knows what but they called me to come pick it after they wanted me to pay the tow bill of $250 in which I refused and pay them another $650 for supposedly rebuilding it Again. Now a few months later it is burned up again and I'm more than sure they are using junk yard parts to rebuild transmissions or just swapping them from wrecked trucks since they own a "salvage yard". I do not recommend this back hole in the wall shop if a tin roof is what you call it. I've never been so screwed over in my life with $3k later and still no truck.
So far so good, they were far less expensive than any other mechanic I'd talked to about my 99 Silverado tranny rebuild. Haven't gotten to drive it yet but I'll update afterwards
They put an engine in my dads truck so my dad could drive it he never drove the truck because he’s been sick , he should’ve drove it to see if it worked but right off the back we had engine problems cylinder 1 and 3 were damaged and when my dad took it back they didn’t want to help him or even try to fix it. They told him it was a coil issue but it wasn’t, they also told me they don’t grantee everything in the engine which is very misleading. The motor was really damaged. If you’re going to get an engine swapped make sure you ask
What they grantee specifically. My dad is not the person to argue with anyone but he let it go I just don’t think this is right.
The best junkyard in miles! I came in for parts here & there. What struck me is when I needed a driveshaft for a custom application. Full ton nv4500 trans 4wd in a 02 chevy half ton.
The owner went out of his way to measure what length I needed. He knew that I needed more yoke in the transfer case than I had with the swap. He took apart an OBS chevy 2piece shaft, verified length for me & gave me a good price!
Plenty of shops wouldve looked at me & said "idk hoss.." sent me on my way
I did research on shaft lengths before coming in and couldnt figure out anything online. I would've had to uber to Houston & get a custom shaft made otherwise!
Long story short, I bring my car that shifts rough to get a replacement transmission, get transmission for very cheap, bring car back so they can put it in and was a very cheap price (i can see why now), they say its fixed 4 months later, i drive home and its as if nothing changed, i bring it back, they try everything to avoid warranting it out, 9 months pass its fixed problem was wiring, 1 week later my cooling lines are busted and my oil pan has a dent in it that wasnt there before and my dipstick boot is loose as hell. Do not use this place its cheap for a reason.
This is a small family run business. The owner is a great guy. He knows his stuff when it comes to mechanics and has great business ethics. He has a junk yard as well. I highly recommend this business and will continue doing business with them in the future.
John and Danny are great. Always so helpful and friendly. We own a mechanic shop in bay city, so I'm going to Hoelewyns quite frequently. The guys who work outside getting parts always load the stuff for me and strap it down. Recommend this place highly !
Im in Toledo, ohio, rust belt capital. Left a post on Dodge group on Facebook, and received a quick response claiming they had the part I was looking for, was desperate as no salvage yards here had it as they would've been all rusted out if they did...couldn't find it anywhere. lifesaver. Shipping was fast and part is good, they also included bolts and tank straps. would recommend this Parts salvage
