I've increased the rating from 1-star to 4-stars, as after posting the below review, the company owner contacted me and he explained how that driver had already been fired after the company conducted its own sting operation to catch him with customers. It is difficult for companies to know if they are hiring good quality trustworthy people, and it is a good sign when the company has a desire to make things right. Banis seems like a good family owned and operated business with good intentions, that was itself a victim of one of its employees (I'm not providing private details of everything the owner told me). While I hope to never need a tow again for vehicle problems, I will give Banis another chance.

A few months ago my vehicle was almost stolen, the steering column cover was removed and wires were cut, and was not operable afterwards. I called Freedom Chevrolet and they recommended Banis Towing. The driver came quickly and at first seemed ok. But then he kept trying to start the vehicle by touching the cut wires together. Even if he had been able to start it by "hotwiring" a bypass to the anti-theft system, which is not something I asked for him to do anyway, I would not have considered it to be in a safe and drivable condition like that. Eventually after so many failed starts, he agrees to tow, which is why I had called them in the first place. After he had trouble trying to figure out how to process an American Express card for payment, he became confrontational and accusatory, like he wanted a fight. Before leaving, I explained that Freedom Chevrolet said Banis would leave the vehicle key in a drop-off box since it was after-hours. The driver refused to take the key. When I came in to Freedom Chevrolet the next morning to provide the key, the agent was dismayed that the driver refused to follow procedure. I will not use Banis again, and am really surprised myself that I had such a bad experience when there are so many good reviews on here from people having great experiences.

You should call this company for your towing needs, my shifter stop working and I had it replaced a month ago, so I didn't know what was wrong, so I assumed it was the transmission. I called Banis Towing and they sent Israel out, he was awesome. He looked at car and he saw that connection to the shifter came off, he fixed it and didn't charge me anything. In a world where some Tow Companies would charge a fee, for just showing up, he just fixed it for nothing. Thank you Israel for your help, this company is awesome!!

Banis towing is amazing! A couple weeks ago my car broke down and I got first hand experience of their great service! Within a very short period of time my car and I were picked up and taken to the auto shop! The tow truck was clean, nicely painted, conversation was great with Jason during the ride and my car was in good hands along with a beyond reasonable price! Highly recommend!
Very professional. The tow truck arrived precisely when the dispatcher said it would. The truck operator, Mr. Williams, took the time to explain the towing procedure and made sure my car was handled with care. I hope I don't require their services in the future, but I would definitely call them again should the situation arise.

I want to give a huge shout out to Anthony Francisco he is an amazing tow truck driver that is truly our hero today. Today my son and I set out to visit a university and it turned into a nightmare kind of a day in the Texas Heat in the middle of no where. Our car overheated and we had limited water after multiple attempts with tow trucks and lengthy times Anthony with Banis came through just on our last bottle water. He asked us how we were something people forget when they’re going through the day to day were people and today was rough that’s customer service and he truly cared when you need a tow it’s definitely not a good day but he made it one. Words can’t express how thankful I am! He was so courtesy and professional and Banis is blessed to have him on their team this company is truly hiring great people! So impressed! Banis Towing Service, towed my car from poit A to point B with no problem. Total distance from point A to point B was 1.6 miles, yes less than 2 miles. The total bill was devastating. $125.00 I am very disappointed in what they charge me.
And their place of business was only 2 miles from the pick up location.

I had my car at my job for a day already because it wouldn’t turn on, I was calling tows and was placed on hold for quite some time, a lot were overpriced, not to mention they wanted me to give them my credentials, I THEN called Banis and they answered within 2 minutes not only were they very respectful I asked if it was possible to pay cash which they accepted, said it’ll be about 15-45 min wait, (understandable) I went to break a bill for some change, they called me within 8-10 minutes letting me know he was close ! (i wish I would’ve gotten his name) but I believe it was logan ? From reading one of the commenters with the classic car review, its the man in the picture with the hat had a beard, tattoos on his arm, looked pretty young, he was very respectful, towed my Benz to my residence, very fast and easy I will definitely ! be calling back if I ever need a tow again, thank you !

My husband and I broke down on the I 10 Texas in our 36’class a motorhome.Anyone who has experienced this will agree it’s a helpless and scary situation.Here we were in the middle of Texas. Far from our trusted services and at the mercy of our roadside assistance service.
We determined the extent of the damage , and that our rig would have to be towed. It wasn’t five minutes after breaking down that a gentleman with a tow truck pulled up the see if we were ok and offer assistance.He introduced himself and explained that he was on his way back from a call,saw us and sympathized as he has had motorhomes too. Mr Banis explained that he understood the frustration in finding a wrecker to handle a rig of our size.We we’re just in the phone call stage of the process, and he even spoke directly to customer service to help explain our situation.
It was determined that Banis Towing was best for our coach.We required special transport because of the rear suspension damage.
Mr Banis offered the name the RV repair shop (Iron Horse)he himself uses and the only one he knew of that could handle the repairs for us.
I felt my worries wash away as Mr Banis’ years of experience had everything arranged for us,from towing to repair.His reassurance and confidence he offered was priceless.

The gentleman that arrived to tow my very low C6Z did an amazing job. I feel like he treated my car as if it was his. I highly recommend this tow company and their rates were very reasonable.
We called Banis Towing on the recommendation of Iron Horse RV Repairs. We have a 45 foot diesel pusher motorhome and were very concerned about how it could be towed without damage. Calling Banis was the best decision we could have made! They were extremely polite and friendly when we called. They verified their equipment was available when needed and arrived at the time promised. They came with a lowboy trailer and were very careful to make sure it was loaded safely. We are sorry our young grandsons were not there to watch, they would have loved it!
When we arrived at Iron Horse, there was another RV there for service and the owner took pictures of our RV as they brought it in. He commented another towing company (not Banis) brought his RV in and damaged the front fiberglass, the generator and other things at a cost of $7000. Iron Horse said they had two other RVs come in last week that were not towed properly causing damages of $19,000 and $11,000. Now I understand why they recommended Banis Towing.

Have used Banis towing multiple times and has always been professional and courteous on time and just great to work with. From locking my keys inside of my truck and having them get them out with no damage or issues (had someone else damage my truck trying to unlock it another time I actually lost my keys) to having my truck get towed they have always done an exceptional job being on time, getting to my destination, and even letting me know how far their closest driver was and how long it would take. They even helped when I was out of town and my truck broke down (I was not driving at the time when it went down) and making sure that everyone was safe. Overall great service, professional guys, great looking and outfitted trucks (They have a truck for ANYTHING from motorcycles to heavy hauling and more) and will be my go to should I ever need a tow.

I have had the pleasure of knowing the Banis family for over 4 years and they are the only company I trust with towing my vehicles. I searched for 3 weeks to find someone with the right equipment to bring my Prevost bus from Houston to Michigan. The father and son team from Banis gave me a fair price and great timing and stuck to both. They have state of the art equipment and know what they are doing. Doesn’t even deserve a one star. Got things stolen from my car. I’ve called and called for an owner of the name Jason because one of their tow guys stole stuff after giving my trust to them - Michael. That’s the tow truckers name. Wouldn’t trust them. Still waiting for my call from last Saturday and waiting to either get the items that were stolen or my money back as I was told.
Don’t recommend them. Choose some place else.
Yes they partner with Leon Valley Police, just like any other wrecker service partners with any police department. They also do repos, just like any other wreckee service. They are a family owned company with good employees and good equipment. Have always been courteous and very professional. Never had a problem with my equipment being damaged or mishandled. Reasonable pricing as well.
In 2015 my husband had a company truck with business magnets of ours towed by the city of shavanoh park due to him looking suspicious(hispanic) and not having insurance. The officer was amazingly racist and the person who attended to the towing followed along going as far to completely ignoring my questions and talking only to the officer. I politely kept talking to both of them until i was able to get some sort of information on recovering my truck. They tried taking advantage of me as i was six months pregnant at the time but i didn't let them. I was able to convince the officer to wait for a family member and paid $150 for them to release the trailer to me. I asked what it would cost to recover the truck from the lot and he told me but when i got to the tow yard they doubled the price. And the person who towed the truck laughed at us. I lived 15 min away so i had to hurry back because they were going to close in 30 min. I got the money and made it 5 min before closing. To my surprise they were trying to close early. Recently on 5-10-17 someone hit me and they towed my totalled car. I called ahead and they said all i needed was my id and i could remove my property. I get there and they wouldn't let me because i also needed my insurance card. The younger members of the family now work in the office and that's helped but they are still purposely difficult, slightly racist, and rude. Worst company ever.
