This restaurant looks really small on the outside but there were plenty of tables inside with cute decor. The place was very clean, had excellent service with friendly staff and the tacos, tortillas and coffee were pretty good and very reasonably priced. Everything we ordered was very tasty and authentic. They are open 7 days a week but close early on Sat and Sundays. We will definitely be stopping there again as we drive through Skidmore, Texas on our little road trips and I'm looking forward to trying more of their menu!
Service was good and the service was great. Asked if we could have a cup of coffee to go and they gave us a large 32oz. Will definitely come back again.
We had steak and eggs for breakfast, and everything was top notch. Best breakfast on our trip so far. Don't leave without having sopapillas for desert. Highly recommend.
Was hoping for real Mexican food. Everything was store bought, salsa, chips, and tortillas. Meat was flavorless. Service was great, she was attentive and fast.
Taqueria Vallarta a place to come sit and enjoy great food. Their tripas plate is delicious! They have a variety of Mexican food and their prices are unbeatable.
The lady in the window was nice..ordered 5 tacos 1 asada 3 bacon and egg and 1 Carne guisada with chesse..picture tells it all..no body ever wants to eat here when they are in this area..now I know why..step it up guys.2 huge pieces of meat no bueno
Gosh. If you live here and this is all you have I feel bad for you. Unless what I ordered was the off dish of the day it was horrible! I ordered Caldo de Res which came with two pieces of potato, no flavor, a few hard carrots, two small pieces of cabbage one of which was a cabbage end, and extremely poor quality beef. For the price this establishment should be ashamed! Never again Taqueria Vallarta.
Not fancy at all, clean with great service! We had the enchilada plate & puffy taco plate, food was delicious with
generous portions. Reasonable prices & tasty salsa too.
If I could rate them no stars, I would! Worst customer service. The waitress never came back to our table to check up on us or ask us for any drink refills. Went to pay for our food and asked the lady at the front a question and she basically laughed in our face. She didn't even look like she wanted to work. NEVER WILL COME BACK HERE AGAIN. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.
Excellant food but going down hill fast
They never have there chips and salsa read when they say at 11am. Told us they make it when they feel like it. Getting harder to get family to want to eat here. They take 30 to 45 min to make tacos. People want chips and salsa when they come to eat Mexican food. Talked with alot of people from around here. They say owners just don't care about the restaurant any more. 2 years ago I'd give a 5 star review. No I want to put a -5 star. So so sad.
Employees are great, food is always pretty good and very reasonable. Nice little small town taqueria. Their breakfast burrito is huge too. Very family type atmosphere, be sure to stop if traveling through skidmore!
My boyfriend & I visited Corpus Christi TX wanted good Mexican food & believe me this was amazing food I think the only thing didn't care for was cilantro in our salads other than that the service was awesome & restaurant was clean. Not sure if it was just because it was semi busy but it was "seat yourself" we sat ourselves and it took almost 10 minutes for someone to come take our drink order. The guy that took our order didn't smile or seem to be in a very good mood. He wasn't rude or mean just not very welcoming. The food was good however and it was my first time there so I'm not sure if it always like this. If I'm in the areas I'd try it again.
The food is absolutely delicious! So far, have tried enchiladas and the sourdough burger with fries. Their fries are crispy, everything is fresh, and if they're making strawberry lemonade, get it. It's probably the best strawberry lemonade I've ever had. Service can be /a little/ slow for the drive thru, BUT it's well worth the 10-15min wait. 5 Star food for sure!
