What clients say about Thompson's Station Convenience Center in Thompson's Station (TN)

Every time I visit, I often encounter the same person working there. His tone can be quite harsh; he shouts at me and tells me I am not welcome here, directly in my face. I own a house nearby on 8 acres, but I am unable to dispose of my trash there, which makes me feel unfairly treated, possibly because I am a foreigner.

Employees shouldn't be customer-facing... They act as if you're inconveniencing them by asking a question. Then if you don't do but you should be doing they'll yell at you.

Well run facility for the most part. It does get busy at times and tou can get trapped in line with no way to get out if tou have only a few items to drop off.

Incredibly stupid rules. Live 5mins from the dump in Springhill but because I live in Spring Hill I can’t use the dump. Literal nonsense.

Quite literally some of the most unpleasant people you will ever experience. Can’t count how many times I’ve watched some poor soul get screamed at by one of the workers at this location.

Pull up, take a dump, pull out. No fuss. Any questions about what goes where are easily resolved by the staff there

Extremely rude, usually they’re fine but I tried to ask one simple question about disposing of a power bank phone charger. It says online that they take electronic recycling here as of April 2025 and they have a sign up for it and all he did was yell at me and tell me that’s Franklin were in Thompson’s Station. Worst experience here and I’ve lived in Thompsons Station my whole life.

I’ve been going here for about 30 years. The only thing that bothers me is people that don’t recycle and put all their cardboard filling up the trash bin rather than breaking it down and putting it in the recycling. It should be mandatory that there’s no cardboard put in there. Also tired of seeing Maury County plates. This is for Williams County residents only!

I’ve been taking my trash, recycling, Goodwill items, and tree limbs to the Thompson Station Convenience Center for a couple years now. The staff is nice. I’ve never had a bad experience with them. It would be nice to have a passing lane to the recycling bins. Or, some type of lane to keep traffic moving along. It can get cramped at times. I recommend going during the week day around lunch. It is usually slow and most of the bins are easily accessible. It’s my go to place for trash.

If you have large boxes and don't want to spend all day breaking them into small pieces go to Bethesda.

Don't understand why the people here are so rude. Every time I go, they're yelling at me for some different reason before I even open my window or get out of my car, as if they expect everyone to know every single possible tribal rule that they have established and never posted anywhere publicly.

Easy to navigate but you have to go through the garbage area to get your the recycling area which is only bad when others are there for garbage

Yeah it's convenient but the guys at work there seem like they're uptight I maybe go three times four times a year but each time they're rude .

They should consider changing the name to Inconvenience Center. I have been told many times “come back tomorrow, we’re full”. A lot of people’s schedules are not flexible enough to “come back tomorrow”, and our time has just been wasted. How about a little better planning so that the services can be counted on during the hours that are posted as open.

I moved family to the area and we needed a location to recycle cardboard and paper packaging. This location was very efficient and the staff were knowledgeable on the services provided.

I am handicapped and cannot walk. I have a handicapped placard hanging on my rear veiw mirror. I politely asked the lady sitting at the station for help. I had one Kroger bag containing an empty meat tray. She did not ask what I needed help with. She immediately gave me an irritated huff and very rudely asked why I did not bring help with me. The lady was very rude. I am in a wheelchair. Do the attendants at the convenience center no longer assist people who are handicapped? This trip to the convenience center was very disturbing to me today.

Good crew and they do a good job keeping people moving along. I do wish they had a lane to bypass the people placing trash to get directly to the recycling and large items bins though. That’s the reason for 4 rather than 5 stars- definitely a convenient place for TS residents.

I've never had a problem with the folks who work there. They may not ooze charm, but they are never overtly rude. I do wish they would ask people to move who are blocking the lanes. I sat for ten minutes today behind a pick-up truck full of boxes while the driver used a box-cutter to break down the boxes and put them in the container one at a time. The guys who work there stood and watched, and it would've been nice if they had asked the guy to move. There is always a lot of broken glass on the ground in front of the recycling containers and there's no way to avoid stepping on it. Every time I go, I have to pick glass out of the soles of my shoes before getting back in the car.

Always neat and organized. The folks there are helpful and kind. I go there all the time and have never been disappointed in their service.

I go here at least once a week. The staff there is helpful but a couple of the guys can get a bit rude. It all depends on how their day is going. So I am not going to give them a bad review because of a couple guys that are having a bad day. Good grief these guys are only making $10 an hour so I'm not sure what people expect from them.

Some crotchety old man (who claims he lives in Maury county and not Williamson) decided to stand there and yell at me and shame me for coming to the wrong dump. I didn’t realize it was just for Williamson county, I live in Spring Hill but on the Maury county side. This gross, sad old man who seems to think he’s guarding a castle when it’s really just a DUMP stood by my car demanding I show proof (I never said I was right, just that I didn’t know), that I knew better than to be there, and that I obviously didn’t know where I live (totally did, just didn’t realize I was in the wrong area). I hope he sees this and realizes that he’s literally just a sad man guarding a dump like a clueless guard dog. Have the life you deserve, you bag of bones.

This place is great. I never had a problem with anyone here. Even though I know what bins certain waste goes in, I still stop at the center area and I tell the tenant what I have in the back of my truck. Then he or she will tell me what color flag the bin is. Simple and sweet...

What a terrible place, you call during business hours no answer, you go to the website and it’s not up. This seems to be the norm in this area, from the post office, ordering a pizza and even driving these un safe crowded roads. I give zero stars.

I really like that the town has this but they have a couple issues I'm not sure how they could fix. First, the location gets busy fast and people don't follow the signs which causes chaos when trying to enter and exit. People that have huge loads of stuff need to park on the side and not block the lower driveway for others dropping off a couple items. Second, (this applies to all the Williamson convenience centers) they need a better way to check if you are a resident of Williamson county. You can be a Williamson resident, but your vehicle tags may say a different county if you just moved. By TN law you are not required to get a new driver license until renewal time so that isn't always good to check either (you only need to update the address on the state system online within 30 days). I'm not sure how they could fix those two issues easily.

Called before driving here from South Franklin to verify that I could bring glass recycling. The guy on the phone questioned where I lived because of my area code. I simply explained that I was calling from a cell phone I've had for years. I half expected him to ask for my driver's license when I arrived but he didn't. He was very friendly in person. I prefer the Wilson Pike convenience center but this one is slightly closer to our new home. It's definitely satisfactory and wasn't crowded at all when I went.

It's closest to my house, so that's where I go, but I hate going there. I live in Spring Hill, but usually borrow my dad's truck (with Davidson County plates) to haul trash. They've given me the third degree as to why I'm driving from Nashville to Williamson County to dump trash. Apparently, they think Williamson County trash is better than Davidson County trash. They also have a one trip policy, per day, which I follow. Regardless, I've still gotten the "hey, weren't you just here? We have a one trip policy per day!". Yeah, I know. Have a nice day, fella...

I visit about every other week and the staff here is always helpful in directing me where to put something out of the ordinary. I've even had a few assists in putting something heavy in the big bins.

Terrible Service and Rude Staff. The worker that is suppose to serve the public was upset because he had to explain a rule of one load per day. I use to run one of these in Ky and we had it unlimited in order to discourage illegal dumping. I just moved to Thompson Station so i did not know. I just emailed the mayor and filed a complaint with the BBB.

The Attendant working on August 25th 2015 was a moron. I had some expired canned food items to dispose of and He raised a fuss because He Said it was Raw Food. Its like Dude Food that comes packaged in Cans has been cooked in some fashion before its packed in Tin Can's. I asked Him where could I carry it to be dispose it at and He couldn't answer a simple question. It wasn't like I was trying to dispose of a Car Battery or Hazardous waste. It was just out of date food in Tin Cans. Its like dude you smoked a little too much crack. Relax and take a chill pill. There are other things to get worked up about. I should have asked him if He would liked to take it home with him. I just left it there for him to take care of or if he wanted it.
