What clients say about Priority Wrecker Service in Franklin (TN)

Not recommended for any services. I had a belt come off on a dump truck. I supplied them make, model and vin # and the exact belt needed at their request. They show up without a belt, procede to get vehicle information again. 3 1/2 hours later a second truck arrives with the belt. It takes less than 30 minutes to replace the belt. $1775.00 for a $50 belt and less than an hour of labor. Wouldn't take debit card, only cash or a cash app. The belt came off before I got home. Jonathan Maye, the owner, promised to get a mechanic to come take a look free of charge. It's been 3 days a complete no show. Zero communication. This company and Mr Maye are being sued by the Tennessee state attorney General. Stay away from this company. Priority towing and Mr Maye, you have my name and number.

My actual towing experience was great! What wasn’t so great was when I called, I was told an hour before a truck would show up and it ended up being 4 hours later that a truck finally showed up. Wound have appreciated more of a heads up/someone calling with updates instead of having to keep calling.

Do not use these people they are the worst!!!!! I have waited 4 hours and they kept telling me 15-20 minutes away. They finally show up in a truck I didn’t ask for. I asked for a heavy duty wrecker and they sent a 5500 dodge. The guy Jon on the phone lied multiple times about where he was and why he wasn’t there yet. I called him and ask why he didn’t send a heavy wrecker and he said I didn’t ask for one which that was the first question I asked was do you have a semi wrecker. Once I called him the last time he went up on his price an additional $300 to send a heavy wrecker plus the $750 he quoted me to send it to begin with. This company is a joke a rip off and wouldn’t know the truth if it hit them up side the head!!!!!!! They deserve a negative 5 star review

Service was good, on time, accurate delivery, & clear communication. If they were a company in a different industry, I'd likely give them a 4 or 5 star review. However, ALL tow companies rake you over the coals for their services & it's money you never want to spend. That said, they're a reliable company, in our experience. They have overhead, they provide a much needed service and operate trucks that are.probably pretty expensive to fix & maintain. It still sucks to give them money.

The whole tow was a great experience. I forgot to ask his name but he was a younger guy with hazel eyes. Very nice, professional and just amazing. 10/10

Charged me $825 "highway robbery" to tow me 3 miles down the road. They only except cash or Venmo. Would definitely recommend not using this company. Left my truck running with fuel leak, while in tow.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! says they can accept credit card then demand you pay them through cash app or a bank wire transfer. 4600$ tow bill was never previously discussed. Treated absolutely horrible on the phone. Jack was extremely unprofessional and demanded we paid before the truck even showed up to our yard. We have over 40 trucks in that area an we will never use their services again. Other Large companies that we work hand to hand with we also be advised to never work with this shady company again.

WARNING: In my experience, this is one of the most dishonest and predatory tow companies out there. Avoid them at ALL costs.
I originally didn’t even need a tow. I called them for road service to fix my truck on the spot. But when they arrived, they told me they “needed to move the truck to a better space to fix it.” I trusted them, and once they moved it just 0.2–0.3 miles, everything suddenly changed.
When we arrived, they told me to go get parts and said they could fix it there — but the whole situation felt off. So I told them don’t fix anything, just give me the tow price for that short 0.2–0.3 mile move.
That’s when the scam started.
They originally told me the rate was $370 per hour. Outrageous, but I agreed. Then they suddenly changed it to $750 per hour, claiming it was because we “weren’t on a highway.” After that, they charged me for 3 full hours for a tow that took minutes.
On top of that, they refused to accept card or bank payments, saying they “don’t take them,” and demanded Cash App or Zelle only — which to me is a massive red flag and exactly what scammers do.
From my experience, this company uses bait-and-switch pricing, fake charges, and manipulation to trap people and squeeze out as much money as possible.
In my opinion, this company is a straight-up scam operation. Stay FAR away from them.Nov 26, 2025 -
CALL TOW PRO!!! CALL TOW PRO!!! CALL TOW PRO!!! PLEASE USE TOW PRO!!! priority is going to rob you. that is why the tow truck driver carries his gun on his hip, so they can rob you out of your money (intimidate you). they came 15 minutes from their shop and 15 minutes to the shop in Mt. Juliet @ $375 per hour. once they hooked my truck they charged me $1295. then tow driver told me i need to hurry and figure out how to use vemmo or they are going to charge me another $375. they robbed me and I should have called the police. PLEASE USE TOW PRO!!!

I had a fantastic experience with Jimmy from Priority Wrecker Service Monday when I was stuck on the side of I65! His communication was excellent, he responded quickly, and he treated both me and my vehicle with great respect. He even gave me a ride with my car to the destination I needed and got both me and my vehicle there safely. Truly outstanding service—highly recommend!

Scammers and fraudsters that are clearly tax dodging by forcing people to use Cashapp and Venmo. They will agree to take a card for payment and then ambush you saying it can only be done by Cashapp or Venmo once they have your vehicle. They then also increase your rate once they have you hostage. We have reported them to the better business bureau. You are better off putting a rope around your waist and towing your vehicle on foot.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVERNov 19, 2025 -
Read reviews!!
They didn’t disclose prices before service they changed a trailer tire and it cost $450!!! If I would have known I wouldn’t have had them come out!!!
I understand costs of running a business but $450 is ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS
The driver was nice so that is why I gave 2 stars I would have given 0 if possible I hate doing it but others have to be awareOct 31, 2025 -
I would like to commend the driver, Brian, for giving great service that was quick, professional and courteous. I appreciate the way he worked my van into his schedule, arrived on time and provided expert care of loading my vehicle safely and helping me get my vehicle taken care of so that my day could be productive!

Needed my pickup taken to the shop. Itcwould not start. My towing insurance sent them to my rescue. Very nice flat bed tow truck and the driver was top notch. Great communication and smooth service. I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again!

This tow service did not disclose all of their charges upfront and waited until after I had been towed to charge me the extra in mileage, that they did not tell me about upfront. I do not recommend them to anybody. For what it’s worth they did tow my truck from one location to another, but they did it added inflated cost, which again was not disclosed…
Update …
I did reach back out to the owner as he requested to see if he would be willing to work with me for some of the undisclosed charges that were given. Not only was he not willing to do anything of that nature, but the business owner just did a retaliation post on my business site, leaving a one star review, for the review I left him… it had nothing to do with any service that would have been provided to him but to be clear , he has never used my service .. this is a very petty man, and I would never recommend him to anyone ever.!!!!Oct 23, 2025 -
I will never been using this company for service. I was quoted $750 for a light duty tow for a mileage of roughly 10 miles. I called a different service and was only quoted $125 for the same thing. This sounds like they are just grifters and are only out to steal as much money from every person they can.

PRIORITY WRECKER OWNER JONATHAN MAYE IS A THEIF AND A FRUAD Be extremely cautious before doing business with this company — get everything in writing and avoid paying in cash or Zelle.
I hired Priority Wrecker Service to tow my vehicle about 11 miles to the Dodge dealership. Before the tow began, the driver confirmed with dispatch that the total cost would be $87. However, during the tow, the driver stopped to pick up another vehicle without my permission, causing an unnecessary delay and violating our agreement.
When the tow was finally completed, I was charged $395 instead of the agreed $87. The driver refused to take card payment and said they only accepted cash or Zelle, even though the company’s website clearly states they accept Visa and Mastercard. I felt pressured to pay through Zelle, which offered me no protection once the payment was sent.
I have my receipt showing the $395 charge, and I’ve found other reviews from customers describing similar overcharging and payment issues, suggesting a pattern of dishonest practices. I’ve also filed a complaint with the State of Tennessee Division of Consumer Affairs, and the owner, Jonny (Jonathan) Maye, lied in his response to the state by claiming he didn’t recognize my name — even though my full name and phone number are clearly written on the invoice he provided.
Furthermore, it has been brought to light that Jonathan Maye and Priority Wrecker Service do not have a valid towing permit and are not legally licensed to operate in Nashville. News Channel 5 even did a story highlighting their illegal and unethical business practices.
I have also filed a small claims lawsuit to recover my losses. Consumers should use extreme caution before hiring this company.Oct 23, 2025 -
After getting stuck on the highway during rush hour, I called several towing companies but only Priority Wrecker Service picked up immediately. They arrived sooner than estimated and handled everything smoothly. Great company and polite team.

My car stopped in the middle of the highway, and Priority Wrecker Service arrived in less than 20 minutes. The driver was polite and handled everything safely. Fast and reliable!

Charged 1165.00 just for a Jumpstart. 10 min work. Then only takes cash app or vendor or cash for payment. Doesn't tell you any of that when you call. After if you don't want to pay that amount they treaten to tow and impound your vehicle.

When my SUV wouldn’t start on a rainy morning, I reached out to Wrecker Service. They were at my location within 15 minutes, got the car safely onto the truck, and even gave me a ride to the repair shop. Incredibly kind people.

Under no circumstance should anyone work with this company. I had material that needed to be pulled off of a trailer, and was quoted $750 per hour by dispatch. From start to finish, this job was completed in 2.5 hours. They gave the carrier we were using an invoice for $4,350. They claimed four hours of work, charged me an additional $195 per hour for an extra worker(I never approved or was told about this), then $570 for a fuel surcharge(this was never mentioned by dispatch when we spoke about cost). When we asked them about the cost, they said pay it or they would tow the trailer back to their yard. The carrier was concerned over having their equipment stolen so paid the invoice. This is a blatant shady business practice, I cannot emphasize enough that this is a company to stay away from.
As for your response below, I spoke to our carrier who was on site, and he confirmed to me that the person performing the labor didn't explain any of the costs until after the work was done. We agreed to $750 per hour, and for four hours of work(I am being extremely generous with stating this was four hours, it was closer to 3.25) that came to $4,350.
The people that Priority Wrecker Service sent were intentionally evasive when discussing cost because they planned on charging so far off from what we agreed to that they knew we would decline the service, and then lied about the time it took to complete the job.Oct 08, 2025 -
Priority Wrecker Service does not provide a fee schedule upfront. They overcharge and add on extra fees to run the bill up. Not to mention, if you call for a mobile mechanic, they will send you a heavy duty wrecker with a base price of $375/hr. They also do not accept credit cards and charge a 10% fee on top of your bill if you don’t have cash or Zelle. Check out my bill that I’ve attached!
Absolutely horrible to do business with! By the way, the actual work took less than an hour, but I was charged for 7 hours for the driving around they did to pickup a part that I offered to go get.Sep 17, 2025 -
I would recommend using any other of the many towing services in our area! In a frazzled moment of having a blown out tire on the side of the road, my husband called priority and did not ask the cost up front. Communication could've been better because we were told he was 30 min out, he ended up getting pulled over and was about 30 min later than expected but my husband had to call to find that out.
I thought my husband was joking with me when he told me the total bill was $470! I could actually not comprehend that could possibly be true because they only towed us 7.7 MILES!!!!
A few months ago I had this same vehicle towed with a different company a total of 22 miles and it was only $110.
I'm sorry but this is absolutely robbing people. I understand and take full ownership that it is our own fault for not asking cost upfront. This is one of the reasons I put two stars instead of one. But I never in a million dreams would've imagined they could charge us this much.
Even our insurance company said to never use priority again because they will always be charging at least double all other services in the area.Sep 17, 2025 -
Do not use these people!!! They charged $375 to tow it 1.8 miles away. They got our signature and then hiked up the rate on us. We then asked for them to not tow it and take it off the lift. They said, “that will cost $500.” We paid $500 and the car isn’t towed. Still sitting in front of our house. I tried to give them the opportunity to make it right by calling them, and they said I was black mailing them. I did call from another phone and asked for a quote after this happened and they quoted me $125 for the same service. When I called them out and said they charged us $500 on our prior call and took the money and left the car, that’s when I was accused of blackmailing. I recorded everything so I have proof.

This wrecking service was phenomenal! My dad which is 77 years old broke down on the side of the road. So he couldn’t stay with the vehicle. We did have roadside so it was taken care of financially however the wrecker got there in 15 mins and called me and communicated with me every step of the way. From when he got to the location, hooked up the vehicle, and the drop. The whole process was smooth. He was in and out and the guy was super nice. Highly recommend!

Absolutely TERRIBLE company. PLEASE don’t waste your time or money. All we needed was a tire replaced on our trailer. They told us they’d be to us in an hour, two hours later they arrive. They brought the wrong wheel, had to go get the correct one, which took another hour…when they finally got it changed they billed us $1200. Only accepted cash or cash app and we had neither. Someone was bringing us the cash to pay, which was going to take them 45 minutes to bring us. They then decided they would try to charge us another $200 to get THEIR MONEY. We spoke with a manager who then threatened to come fight on the side of the road. THP had to be called. We also had our 1 year old with us while we sat on the side of the road for 5 hours. It was a nightmare and this company is a nightmare.

Got stuck in Franklin after my alternator gave out. Priority Wrecker Service showed up quickly, got my car loaded safely, and brought it straight to the shop. Ernie was very helpful throughout the process and made sure to call me afterward to confirm everything was handled. Truly professional service.

*response to the owner’s response* Quoted from an email sent by the Transportation Licensing Division “ Priority Wrecker Service is not licensed or permitted to do business in Davidson County. The company applied and was denied by the Transportation Licensing Commission. They appealed the decision to Chancery Court (attached), and the decision to deny their permit was upheld.”
I also have the court documents supporting the above information.
Beware of hidden fees and predatory business practices with Priority Wrecker Services at all “advertised” locations. My grandmother was taken advantage of and grossly overcharged on 4/30/25. My attempts to contact the business to give them a chance to make things right have been ignored other than their typical response to reviews with an apology and request to be contacted. According to the Nashville Department of Transportation, this business is operating illegally and without a permit in Davidson County. They’ve been reported to the Tennessee Attorney General.May 06, 2025 -
