Was searching for mechanics truck on the internet and a ad for Don Baskin Truck Sales popped up. Looked at several trucks, found one I was interested in, Contacted them and talked With Skip he put me in contact with Jonathon. After several emails, text and calls, decided to make the trip from Jacksonville Texas to their location. Even though they were in the middle of a ice/snow storm they had the truck ready for me to look over inside one of their shops, all my questions were answered and the couple of problems I found were taken care of. I bought the truck and drove the 469 miles back home, truck ran flawlessly. Is it perfect? No it’s a 24 year old truck but it’s what I wanted at a great price. I highly recommend Don Baskin truck sales. But do your due diligence, go inspect whatever you are wanting to purchase yourself or hire a reputable inspection company. This place has a very impressive inventory of used trucks of all shapes and sizes, I'd guess probably the biggest in the US. I internet searched for 2 full days looking for used dump trucks and most roads led here. We traveled from 5 hours away and spent 2 days looking at way more trucks than we planned. Keith was our salesman and spent way more time with us than either of us planned, but he was very helpful and no pressure. Johnna was great with all paperwork and putting us in touch with whoever needed to get answers to all our questions, including the boss! When back home we were struggling to remove the damaged rear end differential and so Skip himself (the boss) spent time talking us through it and also was very honest about options for our old truck. So when we returned to pick up the new truck (after getting pintle hitch put on) we brought the damaged rear end to see about repair options, which we assumed would mean leaving it there and having another 5 hr trip.....however Kenny put us in touch with Joe and Brad who are apparently miracle workers, because we left a few hours later with our repaired rear end differential.....this place is very impressive with fair pricing for the trucks and repairs, we will be back in the future for all our dump trucking needs!

We bought a truck and trailer from them. The salesman told us the trailer has recently hauled grain. The trailer was full of old concrete. I wouldn’t buy anything again from them. Exercise caution here. They have a lot of junk, and some stuff.

I purchased a 2019 International truck from Don Baskin Truck Sales, LLC. After the purchase, law enforcement later determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen prior to the sale. As a result, the vehicle was taken into custody by authorities. I paid $23,000 for the truck. I contacted the dealership to request a refund after learning of the situation, but the matter has not been resolved. This review is based solely on my personal experience. I am sharing this to inform others and encourage careful verification of title and vehicle history before purchasing.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Review for Google – Don Baskin Truck Sales ⚠️ EXTREME CAUTION – I DO NOT RECOMMEND DON BASKIN TRUCK SALES ⚠️ I purchased a truck from Don Baskin Truck Sales, and 15 days later it was reported as stolen. The vehicle was taken by the authorities, and I lost $41,000. To this day, the dealer has refused to return my money, even though the problem was not caused by me as the buyer. As a customer, I trusted that a dealer should sell a vehicle with a clean and verified title, which did not happen in my case. The experience has been very negative, with a significant financial loss and no responsible solution. I am sharing my experience to warn others and help prevent them from going through the same situation. I do not recommend buying from this dealer.

Had a great experience with Jonathan. Drove around for 3 hrs on a Saturday looking at trucks. After finding the one for my needs everything else was handled over phone as I am 8 hrs aways. Everything was taken care of correctly and he followed up with everything after delivery was made. Would recommend him to everyone!!!

The place is huge and filled with commercial trucks and trailers. Very nice people. Ryan, Keith, Jim and John were very helpful with the selection process. Jim was very responsive over the phone. He sent pictures of the trucks I was interested in and got the ball rolling. His responsiveness and demeanor is what prompted my trip to see what Don Baskin was about. Keith, my salesman was very kind and informative. John, the driver came out and shared his expertise and Ryan, their diesel mechanic was very informative and trustworthy. He sat down with me and went over the truck. I left there more informed than I came- and that's always Great! I went there without a mechanic, and felt somewhat vulnerable with the knowledge that I had, but was treated with kindness. There were no sales tricks and no gimmicks. The truck that I looked at was used and had some character. But their team was there to check it out and I left feeling that my intended purchase would be a good one.

Spent 2 days getting paperwork ready, even drove 3 1/2 hrs oneway to see truck and got bank everything they needed on friday(today) ,told them the bank will wire the money monday morning and we will come get it. He said sure if no one comes and buys it by then, hmm its Friday and a weekend, banks closed Monday next business day anyways and we worked on everything together knowing we were gonna get it then say if no one else buys it. Never had dealer say that, not good thing, if another dealer said they would never do that. Lot faith and trust in them. Looking elsewhere for semi now, told bank dont wire the money, even loan lady said she never heard such a thing.

We purchased a Volvo semi truck and were very satisfied with the whole experience. From the incredible sales department to the exceptional parts department, we were meet with respect and eagerness to help. Casey in sales was wonderful, being very knowledgeable and professional to work with. The whole service team Kenny, Jamie, and Mason were fantastic. They worked tirelessly to find us parts for our rig and gave us a great deal on everything we got. Everyone there was so nice you felt like an instant friend. I would highly recommend to anyone in the market to check them out!

Keith was very accommodating, picked me up and dropped me off at the car rental. I had a 24 hour drive back home and they made sure the truck was in working order before I left. Fixed power steering lines, Changed fuel filters, changed the AC compressor, new batteries. All there in inventory is used so when you go there expect in to be used and not perfect. Check it out real close and ask a lot of questions. They seemed to be very honest and transparent. I will definitely be buying from them again.

So many trucks! Acres and acres of junk trucks. Nice guys took their time helping me find a tire for my truck. Mason and Kenny were great. The parts boss man was super helpful.

I was dealing with Jimmy but he dropped the ball and wouldn't respond. When he realized I was a serious buyer he tried to steal the sale...that wasn't happening. Then I was dealing with Keith...he was awesome. The problem is truck didn't run and when they loaded it they used chains and smashed the hood and now they won't respond or do anything about it. (Look at the pics. Has before and after loaded) People are good the place is the biggest bender over as they come. I should of went off the reviews but I didn't. My bad

These people here at baskins are great and knowledgeable people. I drove over an hour to get a harness and they took me to the truck to confirm the part had it off in minutes and had great pricing. Come see Jamie at the counter or Kenny they probably have just what you need

You knw for being 24hrs away an I understand used equipment but the receptionist was so helpful setting up our sale an getting all the documents in order an our new tree truck shipped to us in the NEK of Vermont! When I did get to speak to a salesperson they were great Great experience with true southern hospitality! DO NOT LET THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS FOOL YOU! Honestly people, this place sells trades and auction purchased trucks and equipment. I bought a 2012 Peterbilt 386 dump truck, with 600k + miles. I'm not a diesel mechanic by any means, but I'm also a realist. I paid 50k for my truck. Yes, I'm a single truck owner, and scared to death of buying junk, but that's a chance you take buying "ANY" used vehicle, especially construction equipment. I've seen posts about people being xxx miles away, and can't go look at the vehicle. I live 6hrs away myself, and if I purchase something site unseen, that's my own fault and am taking an unadvised chance of getting something that I'm not happy with. I've made two trips to buy a truck from Jimmy, because he's always been straight up with me. First time there, I was looking at a Freightliner that, picture wise, I was in love with. Immediately Jimmy said, "no, you don't want that truck". Mind you, he doesn't know me from any of you, but did the honest thing, and told me no. I then directed him to the Peterbilt I ended up purchasing. He said, "I really don't know much about it, but it looks good, and starts right up". Took it on a test drive, they fixed 3 exhaust leaks, remounted the stack, and checked all the lights before my 6hr drive home. I'm blessed to say, I made a great purchase, and got lucky with a great truck. Second trip, I made about a month ago, to buy another truck. Came home empty-handed.Reason being, I was interested in a Volvo, that I was in love with. Granted, had a ton of miles, but appeared in good shape. Started the truck, Jimmy noticed an oil leak, and he shook his head "no" at me. Funny thing is, I didn't see the leak. He spotted it. After looking at several more trucks and negotiating prices, we couldn't come to an agreement on anything. I guess, from my perspective, I understand not being able to hop up and go hours to look at your purchase, but you can't hold the people who buys equipment the way they do, accountable for your lack and effort, to go put eyes on "USED CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT"!!!! YOU HAVE TO DO YOUR PART WHEN MAKING THIS KIND OF PURCHASE!!! Shiny, pretty, and desirability, doesn't make equipment reliable. Just do you part, pray, and make the best educated guess that you can make about your purchase. Do your homework on the purchase you're looking at. Google is an awesome thing. You can literally find out 95% of what you're wondering about, if you just take the time to do it. Made a purchase a couple of weeks ago with Chase. The process was smooth until it came to pick from the great selections of trucks. After a couple of weeks, I contacted JOHNNA. She was great at helping me get the paperwork needed to title vehicle. I will definitely return for more vehicles to the help of Johnna.

As a small used truck dealer I went to buy 2 trucks and end up buying 5 .This is by far the biggest used truck operation I have seen in my life . I been 20 years plus in the business and seen adds from them all my life just never got a chance to do business with them. They are straight forward people and do clean buisness my sales man is great super cooperative very professional took a whole day to give us a tour I’m very happy Jonathan Mashburn thanks I see a lot of reviews with a operation like this so big you have to do your digging they are straight forwards if truck have something any issues they will tell you keep in mind we buying used trucks not new. Okay so I purchased a truck that was sold as is! When you do that, you are taking on the risk. I drove it from Covington, TN (Baskin lot) to Linwood, Kansas. No issues, ran and drove great! Winter set in and I believe the air brake chamber of caliber froze and broke. I was faced with getting the brakes fixed, NOT CHEAP. After 5 years, good amount of investment and a couple talented builders (Robert of RB's Adrenaline Factory and Jeremy's paint and body of Sterling KS) The 2004 Ford F650 Supertruck is almost delivered. I see so many bad reviews for this place, and I believe it is so wrong. It comes down to research. It comes down to knowing what you are buying. Don Baskin Truck Sales, buys and sells used equipment. As with all used equipment, it’s the responsibility of the buyer to do their research. I’ve been repairing trucks over 25 years. And I needed a bigger service truck for my business. They had what I needed. Sure I was worried about what I was going to buy. I had to drive 8 hours to get the truck. But, I did my research. I found out the truck was in great shape. And Jimmy was great at helping me with that research. I got the honest and entire history on the truck and made my purchase. I couldn’t be happier the way I was treated by all the employees at Don Baskin Truck sales. They were very responsive, and always answered my questions. I put that truck to work the very next day and it’s out working and making money every day. I advise anyone who is buying any used piece of equipment for anywhere to do your research on your own. You cannot hold Don Baskin truck sales responsible for a bad purchase. Auction and fleet equipment sometimes is given a bandage to get the equipment gone and make it someone else’s problem. So just make sure you do your research on your truck, as I did for mine. And you will be just as happy as I am. I can’t say it enough, Jimmy was great and the entire staff was great to work with.
