  They sell scrap metal as well as buy it. Very good prices for those odd pieces of metal you might need for DIY projects. Very friendly and helpful. Of course, since they only have what someone has brought in and sold, selection is limited but very worth checking with them first.

  I went to SMR at 8:30 am on a Wednesday. The gate was open, but had a stop sign to the right of it. I stopped, made sure it was safe to proceed, and did so – just as with every other stop sign I’ve ever stopped at. When I approached the worker inside, he unloaded on me. EXTREMELY angry. He said I had blown through a stop sign and a closed gate, neither of which was true. I did fail to note the hours of operation, thinking it was unnecessary when the gate was open. In my experience, open gates/doors mean open for business. I was wrong. Mea culpa. They didn’t open till 9:00. This guy thought I had committed a federal crime, punishable by 10 years in Shawshank – five for good behavior. If you’re perfect, this might be a good business to patronize. If you make honest mistakes, particularly if you don’t always read the hours of operation, you might want to go somewhere else. That’s a serious matter here, and you WILL hear about it.
