My experience was from apparently before new management took over, but I would recommend not taking your scrap there.
They offered me about 75 percent less than the quote over the phone. They wait till you unload THEN quote you again. You will obviously take it not wanting to put it all back.
I gave a two because I’ve heard it’s a common shady tactic used by others. They are not an, ‘innocent’ small business though, the family has real estate investments in Clarksville. They want to make money bottom line .
A great selection of metal, good prices, and very friendly service. I have been here a few times to get steel for various projects. Curtis and Lawrence have always been prompt and helpful. The person cutting the metal is very accurate and helpful in getting material loaded. I just heard today that they were purchased by another company and are looking to expand their services. I am glad they will stay local for my metal supply needs.
Great people! Great prices, but I ended up having to pay a $7 fee to cash the check they wrote me for my copper. This is where I will continue to take my copper lines and brass fittings
Is a great place to go shopping look round for projects to build get ideas buy new metal all round fun place to be recommending everyone to go at least once just to see may even see things you want and get very family oriented love it

I'm a light hobby metal worker. Bought some angle iron here. Price was about 1/3 of the quote I got from Nashville supplier.
Went in , paid and got my piece cut into several more manageable sizes quickly. Will definitely use for future metal projects.
Not honest. Prices quoted on the phone were in line with other local recycle centers, however the rates paid were actual about half the quote. And paid with smile. Think about it. Once your metal is unloaded you're pretty much stuck. You take what they give. Likely scamming the scales too. Stay away. Try one of the other recycle centers.
I called and was given a price for #1 and #2 copper of 2.00-2.50 a pound. and 1-2.50/lb for brass.In line with the rates in town. My copper was cut and sorted into #1 and #2 prior to arriving. And my brass was sorted into clean and dirty.
After I got there, the gentleman unloading me was very friendly and since I already had my scrap sorted it went very quickly and I watched the scales as they weighed it all. We weighed and chatted with Mr. Mize and discovered we were neighbors!
I had 81 lbs of brass, 113lb of #1 Copper and 38lbs 3@ copper. Once I was given a weigh bill and check I realized they had seriously under paid me. $1.00/lb for the brass, and $2.00 lb for #1 and #2!! This made my check $383 when it should have been $496.00 That's $113.00 difference. Queen City rates for the#1 were $2.37 #2 $2.14 and Brass $1.82!! Thats over 23% difference just driving across town! If I would have seen this before they dumped my bins I would have driven it across town.
I went inside and confronted Mr.Mize and all he had was some excuses and initially tried to tell me he had given me the prices on the phone for bare bright, and when I corrected him, it was just awkward chuckles and excuses and some song and dance about how he sell's it and been doing it for 30 years. I'd imagine if he dupes every customer for $113 he can do this the rest of his life.
My advice would be to take you scrap to Queen City or Barge Point Rd. If they will do this to a neighbor and semi regular customer. What will they do to a stranger?
Bad customer service, hung the phone up on me and said he owns the place he does what he wants when I called and asked if that's what they do to all their customers.
Always has the steel I need. Large inventory, will cut to size for you in their shop. Also, if you have the ability to cut at home etc., you can get large odd pieces for a reasonable price.
If your trying to build a rockcrawler, tube buggy or anything requiring alittle or alot of round,square, or plate steel. This is where you need to go. Huge inventory and if they dont have it they can get it. Best steel service in the area. This morning I Called and told them what material I was looking for immediatly gave me a great price. went to pick up and was asked if I needed anything cut had 2 cuts made for free. Was there 30 min or less got everything I needed for this project and will be going back for the next.
mr. heimansohn himself gave my church less than half the rate of what scrap steel goes for. he is a thief and neither i nor anyone in my church or that i know will ever deal with him again. dont go here.
