Overall a good place to get a meal but had to leave over half of the sirloin tips due to gristle. Our server made the distance of the trip and the tips worthwhile.
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME FOLKS! This place has gone EXTREMELY downhill. Honestly surprised they are still in business! My wife and I visited on October 22nd. Let’s get started. The owner Robert should be absolutely ashamed. DO BETTER! The cooks do a terrible job and I happened to see them doing drugs in the parking lot before finally making our food (30 min wait and food was absolutely disgusting). Place wasn’t even busy and waitress had to fetch down the cooks!!!!!!! THEY DID NOT WASH THEIR HANDS AFTER COMING BACK IN!!! Yes pure honesty! Our waitress was the only good thing about our visit. She was kind and made us feel at home (even though everything else was TRASH I appreciate her wonderful service) ABSOLUTELY SHAMEFUL this place even has customers considering our experience. Again, don’t waste your time or money on this horrible place.
a terrible place to eat. The food is terrible. Cooks took forever and were too busy playing around in the kitchen. The owner was there and was too busy being rude to his servers to care. Server was friendly and responsive though! I don’t recommend if you actually want a good meal or a quick one. Owner needs to work on bringing good food to the table and how he treats his workers! The place might have potential then. 0/10 otherwise
Lived in the area for many years. We decided to try them tonight. We have been missing a great place. Food was fresh and juicy. Service was great and friendly. Food came out fast and was hot. Definitely recommend them
Fresh brewed Luzianne tea, porch rockers, mountain scenery and classic diner fare served hot and fresh. Wish I had one closer to me. It's the kind of place that serves comfort along with delicious food.
Coffee cup brought to me with lipstick. Waitress brought new cup and it to was dirty on the inside. Hair wrapped around top of ketchup bottle and it was gel so I assume it's been there a while. Toilet in the bathroom looked like it was growing. If all this was so obvious, I can only imagine how dirty it is in the back.
We found those place by pure luck! Had went to deliver supplies for Helene and we ended up spending basically the whole day with our new friend ❤️ She wouldn't have us not eating before we left so here we are in the middle of the hardest hit area enjoying fish fry Saturday ???? WE WILL BE BACK!!! Also got my cup too ❤️
I was sad they don't have the salad bar anymore, but there were 10 of us and everything we got was delicious. The waitress was wonderful and gave us great service! We will be back when we're up that way.
Food was terrible. Ordered cheeseburger with mustard, they put half a quart on it. Had to scrape it off. Burger itself was overcooked and cold. French fries were also cold. My wife ordered the special, it was subpar also. The tea was good. They did take the fries off the bill.
Visited here for breakfast on the recommendation of a friend. The place was easy to find. I arrived around 10am, parking was available. I was greeted on entry, seated quickly. Our waitress came over and we ordered. The food came out pretty quickly. Had the Sharpies special. It was very greasy, the pancakes smelled amazing, looked amazing but mushy inside. The coffee though was purely water. Overall I may visit again and do side items to make an order.
We really liked it. We all had calabash shrimp except one of us that had flounder. The food was really good and fresh. The slaw seemed like it was homemade. The slaw was very good! Our waitress was friendly. The food came out quick... It was hot and fresh.
Such a great place. Super relaxed, hometown feel with friendly service. It was our first time being there and they made us feel like regulars. Food was homecooked and delicious. You must eat here when you are in the area, worth the drive from Boone, if you are staying there. Breakfast and Lunch for sure, did I mention very reasonably priced.
A treasured local place that you have to like. Get the cinnamon roll if you can! It's loaded with cinnamon and served warm. I had scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy and sausage. My husband had scrambled eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. All was delicious.
They're doing a great job on social distancing with clear barriers between booths. They're using individual packets of salt, pepper, sugar and condiments.
The server kept tea glasses full and was pleasant. One of the owners came out to speak with us and the other tables. We've had lunch and dinner there with the same great results.
Heard this place was good, went for the first and probably last time! Breakfast was horrible ? Bacon paper thin with no taste, french toast was burnt and way too much cinnamon. Gravy was bland & tasted like flour! I just can't believe so many people eat here, maybe the lunch and dinner is better? I will probably never know!
I had a great experience until I had to go pay for my food. While the rude lady was ringing up my ticket I asked for some go-to cups and she said she will have to charge for the cup. Before I could answer she took a phone call with out saying excuse me or saying let me take this call nicely, she made me wait about 5 minutes before giving me back my change and then charged me 1.50 for 3 small cups them slammed my changed down on my go-to box and told one in my party that I don't have to come back. I thought it was beyond rude.
Friendly staff and customers. Absolutely delcious western omlet and the biscuits & gravy were great as well. Highly recommend stopping here for breakfast.
