My service was several things. The men kept me posted as to the work they were doing..I have stopped there to have the oil and other things checked especially my tires .This is what a SERVICE STATION

I always get the best service at Mountain View. Bob, the mechanic in the bay next to the air hose always comes out and assists me and always has a kind word and easy smile. Anthony in the sales department always goes out of his way to be helpful. Recommend them for full service on your vehicle whether it be gas, tires, oil changes or full service.
I just wanted to come and drop a positive review for this location and their excellent service. I got in a wreck recently on my way to visit my girlfriend and the cops recommended Mountain View. They came out and towed my car for free and held it over the week while I was traveling. I was able to get everything worked out with insurance and didn’t pay a dime, had access to my car and just overall super friendly.
Came by today to grab a few things from my car and had a great talk with the owner who is a local of 57 years. If an accident happens in this small town, do not worry because these guys will have you covered. Thanks and keep up the great work guys.
Mountain View Service Station expertly saves the day by uprighting and recovering a pretty heavy scissor lift up a steep, rocky embankment. Thank you Billy and Jeff for your prompt and professional work!
Needed a vehicle towed for daughter when dad was 3 hrs away. You can imagine my concerns. Spoke with Billy and Jeff. These guys were super helpful and understanding. Very down to earth and appeared genuine. Had another company originally that was gonna take an opportunity to make free money but not these guys. Mountain View will be my go to if another situation arises. If daughter needed assistance I'd have her call these guys and that's saying a lot. Thanks guys, Duane M.
Update: just got a call from owner to follow up and told me they actually towed 8 miles less than quoted (paid when they picked up car due to location) and wanted to refund what I overpaid. Wish I could give em 10 stars but they had to settle for a "tip".
Had to call in for a ditch pull out. Jim was at my car in about 15min with a smile and great attitude. Helped me out and had a great conversation while realizing how far I missed my mark of the driveway.
My company called another company and they never showed up after waiting 4 hours. Then they called Jack. He went on top of the mountain to look at some trucks that were stuck on an icy road. After deciding it would be too dangerous to life and equipment, he loaded our 3 drivers into his truck and brought them to the hotel. Jack is a very nice and caring man. Will definitely be referring anyone in his area to him.
Our service van was stuck in the mud and in a difficult position to get out of. Mountain View’s driver arrived within 45 minutes although we were a great distance away. When he saw how we were stuck he immediately came up with a plan and had us out in less than 15 minutes. Thanks Big Jim and Mountain View for helping us out!
My truck was undrivable. Mountain view was able to tow it into their shop and get it road worthy again at a reasonable price. I will work with them again.
Jack Cress is great! I was up there working relief efforts for those affected by Helene. Busted a hose on a skid steer on a Sunday and could not find anywhere to get a new one. He was closed but opened up his business to assist us, made a new hose and wouldn’t accept payment. He done this out of the kindness of his heart!
The owner is such a wonderful man and so is his family! His staff and him have worked day and night helping with the hurricane disasters! You couldn’t ask for a better person!

Jack is a legend in the Tennessee towing industry. He is respected by everyone I’ve ever spoken his name to, especially law enforcement. Towing and recovery is dangerous and difficult on a normal day. Disaster recovery is much more dangerous and turns ten minute jobs into two hour recoveries. Thank you to Jack and all the rescue and recovery efforts that are ongoing in East Tennessee.
Very disturbing that this company goes on private property after the massive flood in Erwin and tows all the cars then sends bills that range hundreds to thousands to the owners that are already in turmoil. I pray the worst possible outcome for this company and the owner.
Totally wrong to tow flood victims cars and then charge them over 800 dollars. Too bad your business wasn't washed away in the flood. If I could I would have left zero stars.
Towing hurricane victims’ vehicles when they cannot even access properties to retrieve their vehicles is completely unethical. I hope you enjoy answering for your actions when that lawsuit hits. Disgusting behavior.
Are you seriously towing vehicles on a private business property and asking almost $1,000 for them to get it back when that said business didn't even authorize it after a flood during this horrible disaster in erwin? You can forget about your 5 star reviews after this. I hope all the news stations blasts you and anyone else involved in taking advantage of anyone affected by this natural disaster!
We got stuck in the ramp going on Greegs branch. Me and mom was getting out and shoveling snow out of the way 5ft at a time bc her car wouldn't push the snow up hill. There was 2 tow trucks and 4 men and they stood at the top of the ramp laughing and not wanting to eve offer help to get me and my mom up the ramp. Then after we got to the top of the ramp they offered help. They was helping people down the ramp but not helping people up the ramp. Me and mom spent a hour and a half trying to get up the ramp and they stood there for 45 minutes watching us. And none of them even offered to help till we got to the top.
A little late in replying but I wanted to say these folks are quite amazing and will get the job done correctly the first time. My experience with Jim and Mountain View Service Station, after a breakdown with a brand-new 26 ft U-Haul truck was pretty amazing. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it with my own eyes, they got that truck halfway across the mountains and backed it into my driveway so I could unload it after being stranded on single-lane highway around the Linville falls area. They were a lifesaver. I wouldn't call anyone else.
Only big truck wrecker service I will use from now on. Had an excavator break down on me. Sat for a week, called everybody I could find. They wouldn't answer or call back or show up. I called these guys and Jim showed up in 30 minutes and had it loaded on my trailer fast and easy. The price was extremely reasonable as well. You can tell someone knows what they are doing when it is easy for them.
My vehicle broke down about 15 miles from the house. I called the automobile insurance company and gave them the location. They called me back about 5 minutes later and said the truck was on the way to bring the vehicle to the house. The employee had a great attitude, was very knowledgeable and had respect for both me and my vehicle.
We have used this business twice for repairs on our Fiesta. They are excellent...very courteous, easy to work with, and competent, on top of being reasonably priced. Definitely our go to for car work from now on.
