Shrums is a family owned and operated business, I've done business with these folks since they changed ownership from Fredricks to Shrums . Chester is the owner who is out there with his hands dirty everyday , he will help anyone in need , but he can see threw bullshit faster then you can spill your bullshit, but if you are honest I believe he would give ya the shirt off his back if you needed it bad enough. I will drive 40 miles out of the way to do business with these folks ,
I'm here in Goodletsville for work and we are from Michigan. This place is one of the highest paying scrap yards around and all are very friendly. Not many places help unload trailers full, but these guys did for us, Definitely appreciate this business and highly recommend them to everyone around here! The only down fall is most people get out of work the time they close so losing out on a lot of customers. My advise stay open another hour a few times during the week or a few hours on Saturday lol.. Besides that you guys rock and THANKYOU!
They pay half(or less) what competing recycling will pay. So if you're just needing to dispose of scrap metals and it's the closest place, they will take it from you no question. If you're expecting any kind of returns for your hard work, go elsewhere. And expect a flat tire because they don't clean up the road way.

Husband to some copper there and had small pieces in a bucket, and they put the copper on the scales, weighed it, removed to copper and put the bucket on the scales and weighed it, that was #1 copper and when they weighed the #2 copper, they put the bucket on the scales with it and weighed it all together. There wasn't anything in the bucket at that weighing. Have never seen anyone do that before. The bucket should never have been weighed with the # 2 copper. I've done stuff like that before and it was never done.
I called to see if they take Category cable and do. Do not take it here they will give you 1/3 of the going price per pound. I called back to address the issue after I realized it seemed low. They said that’s all they can afford because they send it somewhere else which is something that they should’ve mentioned initially. I would not have bothered with it and gone somewhere else. The facility is a mess, some of the people are nice. One of my first experiences was watching some woman in the office jump down the throat of a man who was working and helping me. Belittling him in front of me. Interesting place. Definitely watch out for nails or other sharp pieces of scrap that litter the entire facility. Will not go back again.
BEWARE!!!!!!!They offered the guy in front of me $3 for a “aftermarket” converter when he left I got a quote on the one I brought in they offered me $10 because it was “aftermarket” I have done this a long time i know my converters and mine was not aftermarket and they denied letting me see the guys they offered him $3 form they will rip you off if they get a chance

I never write reviews but I was so pleased with my experience. Shrum Parts & Core Supply has some of the best staff I’ve ever met. I’m always treated with respect, given a more-than-fair deal, and my experience is always pleasant. If you’re looking to do business with an honest group of people, I highly recommend this business.

I wanted to take my old dishwasher somewhere it might actually get recycled in some way versus just tossed at the dump. I found this place online and gave them a call; the guy I spoke with was very nice and helpful. Finding the place was a little sketchy, not knowing the area, but Google maps led me right to it. It’s down a gravel road but there are signs. The guys at the yard were great, I didn’t have my ID with me since I took my BFs truck to move the dishwasher but since I was just dropping it off and not getting scrap $$, thankfully that wasn’t a problem. Which I am so thankful for bc it would have sucked to have to come all the way back. If I ever have anything that contains metal I need to get rid of again, I will definitely come here.
