I Captain groups on boats for bachelorette parties and Flat Hollow is one of my favorite locations to go out of. Alan and Kylie are excellent fuel lock attendants!

We love renting the floating houses, however the ramp, dock, and parking are very limited and can be stressful. Also, they no longer have shuttle service from where you have to park trailer/truck to the ramp. This causes the boats to be at dock longer which then keeps others from being able to dock and load.

Rented a floating house and Pontoon. Had a wonderful time. Hope to return next year or sooner. Staff was great. Flat Hollow Marina 7-2025

FHMR made our 2024 week vacation at Norris amazing. From Noah who reviewed the boat to Camden, Levi, Hunter, Jonah and Keannu working on the docks every time we needed fuel to Kameryn, Morgan, Seth and others in shop being extremely friendly hand helpful. A wonderful experience with some wonderful people. Can't imagine why anyone would give this location less than 5 stars. Another 5 stars for FHMR again in 2025. This time Jaden, Trinity, Levi, Jacob, Isaac, Noah, Seth and Ryland made our vacation wonderful. Everyone who works at FHMR are simply good people who make for a great experience. Kayla at the Twisted Pickle Restaurant was an excellent server along with great food. FHMR is going to be our spot for years to come.

Ate at the Twisted Pickle. Had a great burger. Service from Kayla was excellent. Will be back.

It's beautiful out the Re usually always packed had a vehicle I had to get unlocked out there the staff were were friendly and let me use the wifi to find out where the vehicle was

As I wrap up my 30th year of vacationing at FlatHollow Marina, I wanted to take a moment to let everyone know about the service provided by the FlatHollow Marina team, especially Amy, MoonDog, and Kameron. Honestly, the summer season is long and not everything is perfect, but what is. I do want to share some of my thoughts. Amy, the bartender, was quick, friendly, and made us feel right at home with her great recommendations and warm attitude. MoonDog went the extra mile to ensure my in-laws were well taken care of, especially with food service. His attention to detail and genuine care made a noticeable difference, and we truly appreciated how much effort he put into making sure everything was perfect. A special thanks to Kameron, who was always available to help my in-laws with unloading their car and assisting them as they made their way out to the boat. Her willingness to lend a hand made the whole process smooth and stress-free for them, and her kindness didn’t go unnoticed. The whole team at FlatHollow Marina made our experience exceptional, and we can’t wait to come back next year.

We've been coming to FHMR for 20+ years, through all ownership transitions, and we keep coming back. The staff and amenities are always fantastic. And we definitely can't get enough of the floating houses!

Came in for my birthday on the 6th of June, karaoke was bumping and the vibes were killer. Service was great and the food was awesome. On top of that my waitress was an absolute banger, 10 out of 10 Victoria secret model. Her name was Haley so ask for her when you walk on the dock. Will definitely be back to sample all the top shelf liquors again!

Best marina on Lake Norris and the crew members treat guest like family! James, Moondog, and Omer have been very helpful & have went out of their way numerous times to make sure our time on the lake is perfect. The restaurant has amazing food, live entertainment frequently, and the staff is knowledgeable & friendly. If you’re looking for a great place on Norris, this is your spot!

We went with some dear friends of ours and had a great time. The food was good and we had a great waitress. It has great places to sit and eat. Clean restrooms. Pretty easy to get into.

we had a girls weekend and spent a lot of time at the marina since weather wasn't on our side this trip! It was great! the staff went over and beyond for our group. The brussels sprouts were delicious, and the live music was great!

Memorial Day the band stopped playing at 6pm and the kitchen closed at 8pm! On a holiday weekend?! We rented a boat that we had to return at 8pm and we weren’t able to eat or relax. The marina is beautiful however having live bands on the weekends and karaoke only on Thursdays changed the vibe and the crowd a lot. Not as many people get up and dance to live music. I was very disappointed.

We called ahead for seating, Moondog made sure to save us a spot!! The BBQ bacon burger was fantastic, maybe the bacon could have been a little crispier for my taste. My wife really enjoyed the "totchos" and they had some great beer specials too! Super friendly staff and service*

We left Flat Hollow Marina on 8/6/23 after a week at one of their houseboats. We were guests of our friends rental and our first ever experience at Norris Lake, while our friends have been to the area 6+ times. The area is absolutely breathtaking and the water is stunning! I wish we could say the same about the marina, houseboat, and service. Upon check-in, at 3PM, our friends tried to get the keys to the houseboat. Time came and went, and finally at 3:30, they were given the spare key, as they were unable to locate the original. Groceries were needing to be placed in the fridge, so that is where the urgency was on a 90 degree day. Upon arriving on the boat, the prior guests linens were still in a pile in the living room. Housekeeping had yet to clean the houseboat. It was after 5PM before it was clean. Upon our arrival at 5:30, we noticed our bathroom had no toilet seat. We made the marina aware right away, and were told it would be taken care of the next day. The next day came with no toilet seat and when we called the marina, they said it had been installed. We returned to the houseboat and there was still no toilet seat. The third day, two workers came with a seat, and when they walked in the main door, the door handle fell off, and they just laughed and walked away to the bathroom. The seat did not fit. They said they would be right back, but never returned. We fixed the door handle. The next day, we spoke with the manager and he said he would be right out to fix the toilet seat, well, he never showed up either. Everyday we would go out on the water with the hopes of returning to a toilet seat, but it NEVER came. A Sunday to Sunday reservation, with no toilet seat and with no compensation, just no shows and excuses. We had called ahead of our stay to confirm what would be provided in the unit as in paper towel, trash bags, dishwasher soap, etc., but what we were told would be provided was not there and constantly had to ask. The shower had pink slime/mold along the bottom and the ceilings in multiple rooms had black mold. Shag carpeting on a houseboat is never the best option. On the stairs and in the loft it was disgustingly dirty, worn, and stained. When paying nearly $1,000/night for this rental, we were disappointed in our investment for the week. For their staff, It was like the right hand didn't know what the left was doing! When it came to the marina and restaurant, they were also under poor management. We decided to eat lunch on Saturday there. It was not busy and we arrived at 1PM. We waited at least 20 minutes for a drink order, and 30 minutes before we could place a food order. We received our food and hour and a half after ordering. It was 5 items. Overcooked chicken fingers turned to rubber/unchewable and a burger that looked like a hockey puck. My husband even had to go inside to retrieve our checks, and then took them back to be processed. We also had put a card on file for our stay for fuel. Our son took our PWC up to the marina multiple times and they could never find our card information, but I was notified of a $500 credit card hold that no one in the marina could explain. It was finally returned once the accountant was on duty. Broken trolley carts with failing wheels, trash on the dock, including a used diaper that I saw many staff walk by and not pick up covered in flies, and full trash bins attracting bees around the entire facility. The attention to detail is lost at Flat Hollow Marina with staffing being a huge issue! We will not be back to this location.

Update! It's unfortunate that the owner seems to be placing blame on customers vs his unprofessional staff. And it's very much the normal. Read reviews! Eating while serving and counting every penny in register and not wasting hands is very unacceptable. Witnessed the terrible attitude of the waitress working inside yesterday. Not sure if she's miserable with her job or even realizes it's a job! Absolute zero regard for tables she was serving as well putting food into her own mouth while customers waited for their own food. Witnesses the manager running circles to try and calm irate customers after being treated terribly by this waitress! We decided not to order! We had stopped for gas and a meal but decided against wasting our time with the mess of service we expected we would receive. We came inside to order straight from bar and same waitress never even acknowledged us waiting. I hope the 2 families that had the unfortunate luck of being treated so badly were compensated for their time and treatment. Heaven forbid a waitress actually wait on the customers. I don't think I would have handled the situation as calm as those 2 tables. Not a great look for a place that had put alot of time into renovations. Do better with hiring! Deck hands were great helping us with pontoon.

What a mess! Where to start? The launch is barely big enough for one vehicle. You pay to Park your trailer at the top of a mountain with a one lane, lop-sided lot with no surveillance. Vehicles are blocking the outlet. The place is staffed with teenagers that will run you off the walkway in their side by side. The only reason I didn’t give the place a lower rating is the staff inside the Marina. Morgan was wonderful. Kind, customer service oriented, even when she was juggling three customers she did so with a smile. The Twisted Pickle food was gross. Maybe we hit at a busy time but everything was greasy and bland. The prices on clothing, fuel, supplies was triple what it should be. My suggestion would be to find a marina in a better location with a better layout and a decent restaurant.

We had an amazing first weekend at Flat Hollow. I do not remember the names, but 3 employees helped me and my crew the whole time without hesitation. So friendly and extremely helpful. They went over and beyond for anything we needed. We can't wait to come back.

We stopped in for lunch and were disappointed they were out of pizza, so we ordered burgers instead, and we're glad we did. They were delicious. Our waitress was crazy busy, but made sure to check on us often and refill our drinks. Great job, Flat Hollow!

This would be a great place for a boat dock/restaurant. Last 3 visits were horrible experiences. Long wait to be noticed and longer wait for sub par food. If you're looking for a good time on Norris lake I suggest you look elsewhere. So sad to see a once popular and busy marina go down hill so fast. Talked with owner in between her shots of liquor and she apologized, thats nice but it doesn't inspire me to return any time soon.

DO NOT GO FOR SERVICE. We sat down about 8, there was a band playing, the inside restaurant was empty and the dock was at about 1/3 capacity. After waiting 5-10 minutes, we went inside and asked if we were supposed to order at the bar. We were told the waitress would be out to take our order. She came right out and let us know she would be right back to take our order. Twenty minutes later she took our order, food and drinks. It took about 25 minutes after that to receive some of our drinks, not all, and then the drinks that were served was dispensed by a fountain machine that was out of several syrups. The sprite was soda water. The sweet tea was sugar water that was clear. They then brought out alcohol drinks that were for the wrong table so they took all but one away of those away. We decided after waiting over an hour to not even receive all of our drinks and never even got an appetizer that was ordered or updates on the meals to get up and leave. This was my first visit to Norris and this was a horrible experience.

Great little marina! Has a full bar and friendly staff. Cool location too!

We rented two of the cabins. This place could have been extremely nice. I will say the biggest issue I could complain about is the no wifi at all. This is pretty standard and it even had cable so not sure why this was a difficult tasks. Some of the workers had extreme attitude problems. They kept giving out our boat slip to other guests causing us to almost get into a physical fight and the staff just sits there while we were being screamed at for their mistake giving them the wrong boat slip. We even tried several times to ask the employees to please have it corrected and no one communicated anything. Later on the guests apologized to us as they realized it was the Flat hollows fault. The food was good but they close so early you have to eat at 5 if you want food. The cabins were so dirty when we got there. There was food on the floor and dead bugs from no one cleaning. We asked several times to empty our trash since raccoons kept getting into it and the employees completely ignored. The one time he did he forgot most of the trash on our deck. This place was in good location and the owners were friendly but they need to make some changes.

Spent four days here this week, 7/6-7/10, and had a wonderful time. Staff and crew were friendly and helpful. We did not eat here as we were in a floating cabin and brought food. Boat launching is a bit tight and I would definitely call or launch elsewhere if your boat is longer than 28 feet. Not much room to maneuver. Love this peaceful side if the lake.

Calm and quiet area to stay on the Northern part of the lake! We were hesitant at first because we thought we'd be too far away from everything but we could go all the way to the dam or the main lake up the Clinch river in only 45 mins! Close to the Tiki bar at Deerfield and but tucked far enough back you don't have all the wake! We would stay here again!
