They told us they had a decent rear differential for our truck we drove over 1 hour one way to go look at it, on top of that the guy wanted $500.00 would not negotiate with us. I get up there to look at the rear differential and when I put my hand under there to feel I had a hand full of rust fall into my hand. I told the guy I was not paying $500.00 for that piece of junk. And me and my wife and son got back in our truck and we drove over 1 hour home.
The thing about this place is that you get exactly what you need am I not have all the glitter and glamour of the other places but it's got exactly what you want at the price you can afford at a place that's local you can't beat that with a stick thank you to everybody that works at roan mountain and makes that possible.
Came here to get some parts found what I needed. Very pleased with the service didn’t have someone looking over my shoulder watching me just grabbed my part took it to the front and paid highly recommend doing business here
Called them to buy my vehicle, and pick it up at my house. I wasn't in a rush, they didn't have to come the same day I called. But even when they said they'd be there the next day, they didn't show. Every time I called, they were busy, would come the next day, or the truck was being worked on. I called Hunter's and they came the same day. Cannot recommend Roan Mountain Salvage.
New owners are really nice to deal with. I had several issues with the previous owners but after one phone conversation with the new owners I feel that I will be dealing with them as much as possible.

they don't have there eye on it !!! or can't touch it don't waste your time traveling...the yards of yesterday are gone they don't know their inventory anymore!
I had my 18 year old son get out and go in and inquire about the part that was needed, and they told him that there were three vehicles there on the hill he could look at to see if he could use the parts. There was one that he could find. There was no effort made to assist him in finding it. I can't walk good, so I couldn't go with him. The hill was too steep and not accessible by driving. Also, watch for snakes, there was a rattle snake came out of one of the cars on him. We left. Best of luck.
Ozzie has what you need! His yard is organized and he knows exactly where every car is located so you don't waste any time searching for the parts you need! He doesn't try and take your eyes out on his prices like some of these other yards around here.
I would leave two stars, because previous experiences were decent, but yesterday, OMG!!!
I make a deal two days ago with Ozzy(the owner) for a set of tires and rims for my work truck. I show up yesterday and there’s no room for my truck. I offered to help him clean his garage. There were about 2-3 dozen tires just tossed all over the place. I started stacking, and he took off. I completed the task. I backed my truck in. He comes back and hands me a wrench to start taking off the wheels. I was paying him to do it. Lol. I declined. I said ozzy let me just give you the $450 for the tires and rims and I’ll handle it myself. He disagreed. He wanted $460. So I gave it to him. That man is plum lazy, and greedy. No wonder his worker didn’t respect him enough to show up. Word has it, he doesn’t like people that live in roan mountain. He’s from Hawaii. I guess that’s how we expect them to act. Well played and bravo. Ozzie also says he doesn’t know how to use his tire machine so he doesn’t balance tires. To send someone down the road without balanced tires is insanity and just plain dangerous
After the current owners bought it and I dealt with them I was kind of hesitant on going back, but I did and haven't stopped going when I need something!! Ozzy is freaking great, knows his stuff and always has a joking way about things! I would rather go there and deal with owners who will talk and joke around with the customers, "like they use to do back years ago" than go somewhere where they act like they are too busy and have no time for you other than sell to sell a part! Thank you Ozzy and wife for a great business so close to home!
If I could give it 10 stars, I would and then some. Owners and employees are the nicest business owners I've ever dealt with. After reading some other reviews here, Id like to say that Roan Mountain Auto salvage does not discriminate against females. I have never been treated any different there because I am a female. Keep up the good work, yall are awesome!
I'd give lower if possible. Firstly, Quoted price of $75 which we found reasonable seeing how that was an average price on junkyard parts with what we were looking for. Then when called again, they decided to raise the price to $100 because it was hot outside. I understand it is hot, I'm a mrchaniv working in the same heat today with no shade or AC. But adding an additional $25 just because of the heat isn't good service when we were quoted the $75. Now I have to eat that $25 due to our customer being quoted that $75 price.
Secondly, the gentleman I dealt with was disrespectful. Condesending about me double checking the parts capability and functionality.
Thirdly, He used a plasma torch to cut the park brake cable and rear trailing arm assembly (which I did not need) because he could not access the baking plate bolt with an impact (which I did with a breaker bar and socket from the ground so it was possible. He just didnt want to do it because he couldn't access with impact).
I understand that this is Auto Salvage and these are used parts, but there no excuse for the lack of professionalism I experienced here.
Love it honorable folks that understand the situation fair prices could not ask for a better place if it wasn't for this place I wouldn't be able to pay tribute turn My Father by building my restomod
Got an alternator for my envoy for $35, that made the 45 min drive from bluff city to the place worth it without any doubt. I don't mind curvy mountain rds, I was raised on those, but it's hard to find a place where the ppl are friendly and the prices are right. Besides, I like anybody or any business that has random farm animals wandering around for me to play with, makes the time pass faster lol.
Great customer service and all around just good friendly people. They will work with you on pretty much anything and are very reasonable. If you need a good used part for a great price, I’d definitely go see them.
Very unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone. But they did me a favor in the long run. Got a much better deal for a lot cheaper. Just saying.
