🚨 DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP 🚨 When I first test-drove the car, the check engine light was already on. Their mechanic said she “couldn’t use the diagnostic tool,” which I don’t believe for a second. She brushed it off, saying it was “just a sensor” that would be fixed. I told them I wasn’t going to buy the car in that condition and left. A few days later — on Friday — they contacted me saying they had test-driven the car and repaired the issue. I asked for proof afterward, like a service slip or a photo of the dashboard, but never received a thing. That was my mistake for trusting their word and going through with the purchase anyway. On the day of the sale, they told me over the phone that the light was off. I was in a hurry, and they knew it. They stalled, rushed me through the paperwork, and I drove off the lot. Not even an hour later, once I hit the highway, the check engine light came right back on. They never fixed the issue — they just cleared the code. When I had a separate mechanic inspect it, the truth came out. The cabin air filter was filthy, the front tires were cracked and nearly bald, and there was still an old State Farm tracking device stuck to the windshield from the previous owner. That shows how little effort they actually put into preparing their cars before selling them. This dealership buys cheap cars at auction, acts overly friendly to gain your trust, and sells them for high prices while hiding serious problems. They’re too cheap to properly repair the vehicles because that would cut into their profit. Instead, they tell you to rely on a warranty rather than taking any responsibility themselves. A car with an active check engine light, unsafe tires, and a filthy cabin filter should never be sold — yet they did exactly that. The overall rating is misleading because it mixes in their auto shop. If you read only the dealer reviews, you’ll see the same story repeated: check engine lights, hidden issues, excuses, and cars breaking down soon after purchase. If they’re willing to sell a car in that condition, that tells you everything. Fake smiles. Fake promises. No accountability. Save yourself the headache — go anywhere else.

These guys got me right in for a tire replacement. Professional and curtious. I would highly recommend these guys for your repairs. I wish them the best in all their endeavors.

Had an issue with the parking brake on the truck. Almost 2 whole days Colton was able to track down the issue and get me back on the road. Definitely recommend this shop.

I love to keep my money in small businesses. This experience made it very clear why you shouldn’t take the chance. Originally bought a 14 gmc from the owners son for 19k. He was an awesome guy. Turns out the trucks rear shocks were fully disconnected (rusted) from the frame. John agrees to get me into a new truck, which was very respectable. Turns out the son quits and the truck sits at the auction house in New York for a month and a half. Thermostat goes out 5 days after buying the truck. The son originally bought the replacement vehicle for me, stating 2 weeks max. I asked what the difference will be. He replies “not a thing, I have already made my money off you”.Truck comes and the owner charges me 24k for the new truck. This was a 78 day ordeal. When I state my opinion he replies “why don’t you just come pick up your original truck and get it out of here”. It was like I was dealing with my dad.. 😂 I could go on and on, but if y'all haven’t made up your mind by now. God bless. Hope you are thriving Tom and Christy!! Ps. I was driving back to Sioux Falls several weeks ago and was having trouble with my headlights and low air in one of my tires. Someone from Berg’s auto went out of his way to stop and help me out. He helped me get to his shop, checked on my headlights and made sure my tires were filled with air so I could get back to Sioux Falls. I really appreciate his kindness and willingness to help.

We were on the road and had vehicle trouble so we stopped in Beresford, after being recommended to go to Berg's after stopping at two other shops in town, they got us right in. Right away they could tell we had a bad tire, they found two of the tires we needed and got them on and we were on our way. Very thankful for their prompt service and knowledge!

Was broken down on I29 2 weeks ago on a Friday night. I was towed there to Bergs. Next morning they got to checking on my car immediately. Engine had no compression on 3 cylinders. Plus looked destroyed. I went next door and found the vehicle I wanted. They set up the financing and I was back on the road by noon. I live south of Iowa City. Over a thousand miles on the car now and am definitely pleased with it.

Solid place to buy a reasonably priced used car. No nonsense, good selection, didn't have to deal with a fluffy sales person. They gave me and my husband ample time to test drive the car and take it to mechanic nearby for a quick inspection. They're definitely old school, no bs, what you see is what you get. I prefer doing business like that, it made the transaction simple and seamless. They had a battery on site and swapped it with the one in the car we purchased quickly. Goof experience, no complaints.

Bought a vehicle that I thought I was getting a good deal on. Turns out, it had a blown head gasket. All it took was the drive home to realize it. Dealer offered to do the repair and share the cost, which was nice, but very dissappointing to have to pay for even part of an expensive repair when I thought I was buying a car that was road ready. NINE WEEKS later! I finally have a useable vehicle. Dealer offered a loaner partway through the repair, which I declined (who would imagine a 9 week repair job). Through the time of the repair I expressed my frustration at the lack of communication and length of time, but it did not improve. Lots of excuses (never an apology) and one of the worst customer service experiences I've had.

I have had the worst experience at Berg Automall. I bought my vehicle here, within a month my engine blew due to a bad timing chain. Which isn’t the only issue with the lemon they sold me. They kept my vehicle for 5 months to “fix it” and it turns out, the owner John, KNOWINGLY (I know because he told me he knew) approved a used engine with yet again, a bad timing chain and then failed to disclose any information to me. I am not paying for that repair that should’ve been fixed to begin with. This dealership is run by a crook. Buyer BEWARE. Better yet, buyers RUN.

All in all nice people. Super friendly and very accommodating, but the car I got wasn’t inspected throughly. I had 4 lights out and replaced those I let that go. But then it rained and wipers would only work when I turned on right signal to turn … let that go.. now I’m leaking oil everywhere most likely need new oil pan. Car has been a nightmare so far. But it’s as is I’d recommend bringing a mechanic with when purchasing vehicles through them.

Sold us a 2012 Acadia that broke down not even 2 months after we got it took it back to them to do some work on it and it just completely shut down on us on the highway while we were on the way there so he could fix what we thought was a sensor turns out the engine blew and needed to be replaced luckily we bought the extended warranty but the warranty place approved only for the timing chain to be replaced and they told him to use that toward a new engine which he replaced but he KNOWINGLY put a used engine in with a bad timing chain never said a word to us also kept our car for 5 months “waiting on the warranty” which was also a lie now not even a yr later car is back in the shop for a timing chain. This man is a straight CROOK will never do any kind of business with him EVER hope his shop closes down because he’s a straight crook do not give him your business you will regret it!!!!!!!!!

I bought a 2012 Buick lacrosse from them with a one year 12000 mile warranty (I got them to pay for it which was the only good thing this company did). Because it seemed sketch when the transmission would down shift while driving (should have not bought this car) Looked it up and on some sites they said that was common in Buicks lacrosses so I didn’t think much of it. Within a month we had to take the car in to Jerry’s automotive they had to replace the timing chain and sprockets (covered by the warranty) and all 4 tires needed to be changed because they were all rotted. They also told me if I had anymore issues it might be the catalytic converter (which was the reason the check engine light turned on within 3 days of having it). Within a day of driving it I’m bringing the vehicle back into bergs auto. You think they would cover the part on this lemon they sold me nope had too pay 800 which was a good price to be honest but still frustrating (after market part is what they said). Not only I had to pay for the catalytic converter but they also told me i would have to take it to a transmission specialist as well. Turns out the transmission was shot as well. If I did not get the extended warranty I would have brought this lemon back too them. I would not do any business with these people because if something is wrong with the vehicle they will not do the right thing and cover what they ignored to fix. Along with that they are more than willing to sell you a lemon as well. Sad to see a local business screwing over people. In total I have spent out of pockets 4800, and the warranty already burnt through the 5000. I will never use them for anything at all. Learn from me and just don’t go to bergs for a vehicle.

Broke down on highway during cross country trip. AAA towed us to Berg’s. John, the owner, and Zack were great! They let us park our camper, gave us a water and electric hookup while repairing our truck, which saved us hundreds of dollars in hotel fees. They worked hard to get the parts needed and even though we had to spend the weekend, they had us back on the road Monday.

Complete scam artist, they will act friendly to your face with nothing but bad intentions and greed in mind. They sold me a broken car that they practically stole from someone else by lying to them and telling them that the work was unmanageable and that they would have to pay for labor to have there broken car returned to them. They then fixed the car and sold it to me it ended up breaking down a month later and I junked it. I got myself a new car but I was about to move and I had an old Buick sitting in my drive way that I had to assess. It turned over and drove but had some obvious issues so I took it in to them. They acted as if they were friendly upfront and told me they would check it out. They never replied or called after that so I went in a week and a half later and they told me that my car was beyond fixable and that I could just bring in the title and they will handle it from there. I told them I could handle it myself and they told me I would need to pay them 150$ to have my broken car returned to me. Considering I allready had experience with them and have the paperwork to the car I bought from them stating it was surrendered to them, the dots connected and it became very clear that they are going to benefit of my situation as much as they possibly can. I'm sure they are going to have that car out on their lot within the month and they didn't even pay a dollar for it. Buisness like this should be illegal

They should be put out of business. They will tell you anything to get you to buy a car. When I was bringing it back the next day because faulty headlights, check engine light etc., another customer was there bringing his back with the same issues. They purchase broken vehicles at a low rate and flip them as fast as they can without so much as an oil change. They lied about the warranty info and lied about making things right with the vehicle I purchased. It is unsafe to drive then they even tried to sell me parts to fix it!!! Never buy a vehicle from them.

This shop was amazing. Staff were friendly and on top of everything. We were having some car problems while visiting SD and this shop took care of us. They rode in the vehicle with diagnostics attached and let us know the problem. We had no additional problems afterwards! Such a blessing in a stressful time.

We were driving from FL to OR in a Class A motor home when we had some kind of oil leak behind the driver’s front tire. We called, they got us in right away. They fixed a leaky wheel seal. We had both done just to be safe and we’re back on the road within hours and it didn’t cost a kidney either. Professional and super appreciated!!

Called Berg for info regarding a vehicle they had for sale on the the internet. Salesman Seth was extremely friendly, helpful and responsive. He quickly sent me additional photos and information to help me decide whether vehicle was right for our family. I didn't end up purchasing vehicle but was impressed by the service I received.

Amazing! A blessing from god! My stem broke off my tire and everywhere was closed including this place and I was desperate considering I had my baby my donut wouldn't have made it back home it is memorial weekend. When I called a gentleman picked up the phone and was able to help with no questions asked! I forgot to get his name but that man deserves a raise. Not only was he able to fix the stem he didn't over charge me and this places cares about their customers I will be coming back regardless if I live out of town ITS WORTH THE DRIVE!

We are from out of town so we thought we would give these guys a try. They were easy to understand and friendly. They were prompt (maybe we came at a time that wasn't busy but they squeezed us in). The place was clean comfortable. I would recommend this place to other out of towners.

Absolutely had the best experience with a mechanic I've had in years. Had a list of car issues that would have wrecked my whole week and they were happy to help, easy to work with and very affordable. And got me on the road in no time. Definitely making this a must do on my ventures.

I took my vehicle into Tommy after I backed into a sign and I cannot tell you how happy I am with the overall price, professionalism and detail they put into fixing my 4runner! I took it to Toyota to get it priced out and they gave me an astronomically high price that made me want to take it into Tommy for a great deal. Hands down the greatest guy to work with! We have had nothing but problems with our warranty company called Freedom Shield Warranty with multiple questions daily for the past 19 days. John and Tom have been very patient with answering one question after another from Freedom Shield warranty. John and Tom Berg took everyday with a positive outlook on this and never gave up! Good shop with good prices...my fuel gelled up and they went the extra step in pulling my 18 wheeler that last 300ft into the shop with their flatbed tow truck with no additional charges. Out the door it cost me under half of what it would have cost to have road service(from another company) to come out and just take a look at my truck without repairs.
