Wow, they have everything. Cool experience. Great selection on different items. PS they have 5 cent coffee. Worth the stop. Plan on a couple of hours to take it all in.

It doesn't pretend to be anything but a tourist trap. It's just kitchy enough to be charming

Sure, it’s a bit of a tourist trap, but the fudge is absolutely delicious and creamy—definitely worth 5 stars! The donuts were good, though my husband found them a little too crunchy for his taste. The maple topping was more like a thick icing than a glaze. On a positive note, they offer free donuts to military members and veterans, which is such a generous touch. I was a little disappointed that the outdoor jackalope was closed, especially with the beautiful weather, but I’d still highly recommend stopping by for the fudge. And if you have the time, be sure to visit the gorgeous chapel—it’s well worth seeing!

This place is fantastic. We were in Hermosa and decided to drive out and see this place in person. The fun started many miles out as the kids were reading the many roadside signs along the highway. Once we arrived, we spent a couple hours checking everything out. This really is a great place to stop and see. Finally we were ready to eat, so we made our way to one of the many restaurants. One of the specials was a hot beef sandwich. I have never had one, nor have seen one offered, so I had to try it out. It was absolutely amazing and packed with flavor. Our meals were finished off with slices of homemade pie, I went for cherry. Everything tasted so good, including the 5 cent cup of coffee.

It was a great place to stop! Highly recommend. A few of the shops were closed so that blows but it was cool to see the old timey things they had. A lot of the stores have jewlery, not the greatest fir small kids as they want to touch everything. Other than that it is a must see!

Another disappointing stop on our vacation! A big build up for nothing. All those signs for miles before you even get anywhere near it…then nothing spectacular. We wanted to eat there. Grabbed a menu, and didn’t see what I wanted on there…asked about it…was told that was a special and it ended at 2. Very disappointing. We did buy some souvenirs, but we ended up leaving and eating elsewhere.

Fun place to visit.. Have stopped several times. Lots of things to see and something for the whole family. Bring money, cause you will definitely wanna buy some souvenirs and other things like clothing, toys, rocks, food. It's all pricey

It will take you 2 hrs to actually get through this entire place and maybe a little more depending on how big your group is and how long it takes to eat! It’s an awesome experience! But there is cool stuff on both sides of the streets as well, I didn’t get to go cause I still had another 10 hrs home. But it’s worth the stop!

Suuuch a cool place. We started seeing all the fun signs about 40 miles away and got really excited to check it out. It's huge. We got elk burgers and their 5 cent cups of coffee. Everything was amazing. The decor is incredible. Really takes you back in time and feels so western. We were so glad for all the signs because it quickly became a favorite from our road trip.

This is a unique location. All the stores are under one giant building and you can walk through each one without having to go outside. Very interesting. Lots of cool things, and items. Good food. Hey cmon, they don’t have any Espresso which is my complaint. Not even the fudge shop had espresso! What’s up with that?

It's a restaurant offering pastries and breakfast with 5 cent cups of coffee. It's a shopping mall with souvenirs and themed stores. It has a main street with store fronts, inside! It even has a little chapel. A must-stop-and-see when going through the badlands. Billboards along the highway guarantee you won't miss it!

Saw about 20 billboards about this place on our drive, Thought we would have a stop and have a look. Glad we did this place has everything you need and lots to see from a 80 Foot Dinosaur to hats boots and food. Fresh Donuts and other sweets treats. Biscuits and gravy and still 5C Coffee ! Highly recommend stopping at Wall Drug stores. Plenty to see and plenty to buy. Parking is really easy also! Does get busy by midday but they have an overflow car park. All staff are friendly, nice clean restrooms

Sure, it’s kind of a tourist trap, but well worth stopping for, with many interesting shops and gazillions of knick-knacks. The food is good and fairly priced, although the sheer amount of people makes it a more like a feeding plant.

This store is two city blocks long and has pretty much everything. They have a garden where you can take iconic pictures and there food was delicious. Definitely worth the stop.

I appreciate that they sold real pharmacy medicine and also had camping gear I needed. The Buffalo burger was good, worth a try if you've never had Buffalo before. It tastes a bit grassy, like lamb. The 5 cent coffee is also very yummy. I enjoyed walking around the area and seeing all the items for sale and old photos and paintings. Worth a stop if you have time.

Tourist trap all the way. That said when you are in the Badlands you have to stop in. Had the bison burger, fries and a doughnut at the café. We enjoyed the visit and left with a t-shirt.

Must see road trip stop. A little or lot of pretty much everything. Plenty of fun photo opportunities and areas to stretch legs from long drives. Food is okay but not the reason for stop. Lines move very fast and organized chaos. I'd save room for Ice cream or donuts (cake like texture)

5 stars based on what we expected! Awesome doughnuts! Breakfast was basic, but fresh and good. Lots of art to admire and shops to explore.

We had to check it out after seeing the billboards on the road for miles and miles! It’s a must see for tourists! Didn’t buy nothing so I don’t know if the prices are fair, but the store decoration is nice.

Wall Drug is an American Institution... from it's eclectic products to it's historic free ice water and 5 center coffee... fun is to be had by all... it's hard to miss as the signs begin hundreds of miles from the store guiding you to the fun!

Giant eclectic collection of stores selling everything from souvenirs to diners to a chapel to gold mining It’s a little detour off the highway but was underwhelming and confusing to navigate considering the plethora of advertising. I’d only recommend stopping by if you aren’t pressed for time. The cafe / diners have decent food for solid prices but the rest of it just feels like a tourist trap.

I’m relatively certain that you cannot go wrong at this iconic South Dakota roadside stop, as long as you can keep your kids close, as it gets busy sometimes. Thirty-five years after my initial visit, it had grown tremendously (it seems), but remained as magical as I recalled. Stop in, and check out the dazzling array of jackalopes, if nothing else!

A bizarre place. I could see how it might be fun for many, but I found it disorienting. Kind of felt like if a grandma and a 10 year old boy had an unlimited budget to create a fever dream space filled with chaos. Onion rings and donut were both very good though. Ice water hit the spot. Worth it to visit.

This rest stop on the way to Badlands National Park is advertised numerous times on I-90. They offer free iced water, but the cups are small and not cold enough, and the dispenser is a bit odd. We had dinner there, and the prices were reasonable. They also offer coffee, but the cups are small. The mall is large and sells various items, but it's cluttered. This mall supports the economy of the town of Wall. This time in Wall, many motorcycle enthusiasts participated in the 2025 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Just go here. You'll see. There's something for everyone, EXCEPT maybe the sports fan, and even then... The Family Mining Experience was a total blast and well worth the $15. Coffee well worth the $0.05 price. But you need ZERO dollars to enter this place and find something cool. Grab some free ice water, watch some animatronics, and enjoy stretching your legs at this fun Roadside Attraction.

You have seen the signs, and you’re wondering if it’s worth the stop; and the answer is yes and no. It’s definitely a tourist trap, but the kids will think it’s awesome. The free ice water is more like tap water, there are a ton of souvenirs of all kinds, and even some reasonably priced t-shirts. The donuts are expensive; I posted a picture with the prices as of August 2025. They are big and rather tasty, but I wasn’t impressed with the icing. We were staying in Wall in order to visit the Badlands, so the drug store was nice to visit while in town.

I love their garden area! The kids had a great time looking through all the stores. Lots of souvenirs and great magnet selection. Must visit if you are in the area. Wonderfully decorated!

There is so much more to explore about Wall Drug Store than you would imagine. There are so many different types of gift shops to look through. Rock shops, shoes store, outerwear, clothing, souvenirs, jewelry, drug store items, and book stores. There are multiple penny smashing machines throughout the shops as well. And don't forget to stop in at "The Backyard" for the kids too. The mining experience looks like tons of fun and the arcade as well. Don't miss the dinosaur!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A must-stop on your South Dakota drive! Waldrug is one of those iconic roadside stops you just have to experience. With miles of nothingness surrounding it, this place feels like an oasis of fun, history, and quirky shops. It’s packed with interesting stores, photo ops, and unexpected surprises. I especially appreciated the historical exhibits—really fascinating! Fair warning: if you have kids, they’ll want everything they see, so come prepared. Totally worth the stop!

This place is more than just a store. It is also a restaurant and donut shop, and they have a ton of statues and decorations where you can get your picture taken. They have tea that costs five cents and free water (though it was not ice cold as they originally mentioned). There is plenty of seating. The store has everything. It is a bit on the pricier side, but there are lots of options for a convenience store. There are also several other stores nearby that compete with prices. Also, there are some other notable landmarks nearby, like a dinosaur statue and the giant jackolope. They are not on site but close by. Apparently, this South Dakota store is arguably more well known for South Dakota tourism than Mount Rushmore, whether you want to believe it or not. If you are in South Dakota, this is a must visit!
