I had my dad’s car towed to a mechanic for brake repairs. The vehicle was delivered to the correct location, but the next morning I noticed a deep dent in the trunk and a broken taillight.
I called the towing company and was told to email their dispatch, which I did—sending photos showing the vehicle undamaged before transport and damaged after delivery, and asking how to proceed. I received no response. I followed up weekly by phone and was repeatedly told they had the email and that someone would call me back the following Monday. I never received a call.
After multiple follow-ups and a second email, I finally spoke with someone over a month later. He was rude, unprofessional, and refused to take responsibility, claiming he reviewed security footage taken from the tow truck and that the damage did not occur during transport. When I asked to see the footage, he initially refused and then stated they could only access footage from the past four days—well after the incident. I'm not exactly sure how he was able to watch the footage now.
When I asked why it took so long to respond despite multiple follow-ups, I was told I had “slipped through the cracks.”
I won’t pursue them further, but if you use this company, I strongly recommend taking photos of your vehicle before towing and at the destination while it is still on the truck.
While I’m grateful the car was delivered to the correct location, I’m very disappointed with the communication, accountability, and professionalism shown. I hope they handle situations like this better in the future.
Our rental car shelled its transmission 2 hours east of Rapid City, SD. Donald was tasked with getting us a replacement car from Enterprise and transporting it back to us on a flatbed truck. Donald took excellent care of us - making sure that our replacement car had enough space for all of our luggage, sending us pictures, etc. Anyway, he went above and beyond and we appreciate it!
I called for assistance and they responded immediately. Within 20 minutes, Lee was out to assist me. He was Incredibly helpful! He made sure I was taken care of. Definitely would recommend this company!
What an amazing company! I can not recommend them enough. They got to us incredibly quick, got us loaded and towed to a lot and the two drivers we had we so kind and helpful! They went above and beyond to help us, and there prices were more than reasonable! I can not say enough good things about this company! Thank you for taking a crummy day and making it better!!!
Dylan was wonderful to deal with, usually when you need a tow it’s a stressful situation and Dylan was friendly and personable and made the whole process seamless and pleasant! Will only use Olson towing in the future!

Has everything else in South Dakota the costs are painfully high, but a very professional team of people there that deal with a lot of different human beings in a lot of different emotions. All in all I'm glad they were there to get my stolen Harley-Davidson and bring it home
I have had very good experiences with this company, I broke down today and thankfully made it to a parking lot. I let them know where my vehicle was and where it needed to be towed and left a note in the vehicle about where to put the key at the dealrship when they dropped it off. A+ all t he way for me with Olson Towing!
Frank was a great person to speak to and got it from Spearfish to rapid for a decent price. He was very friendly and communicative. Great driver and I hope if I need help again he is my tower
They were set up through my road side assistance program and never showed up. They were given the job 6/1 @ 5:47 pm for a tow from 3-5 pm on 6/2. They texted while I was working and said 60-90 minute ETA at 2:00 pm. Then got a text the driver was en route at 2:05 pm. I got off work at 3 based on the information provided and apparently missed the driver. The assistance company called them and were told they’d go back with in 60 minutes. They never showed. Thankfully, my road side assistance company got Plains Towing and Recovery to take care of business.
I was in a life-threatening head-on collision on I-90 caused by a lunatic with a death wish. My 5th wheel was parked at Flying J with permission from the owner to leave it there until my family could pick it up. The Flying J manager called Olsen to come tow it, unaware that it was approved to be there.
Olsen had possession of the trailer, parked in the corner of the yard for about 15 days. My wreck was in the news, and a lot of people were aware of it, including Olsen.
I spoke to Mike on the phone, and he was aware of the wreck. The bill was around $2500 bucks. Christmas just passed, I had a ton of medical bills and asked Mike to help me out with the price due to my circumstances. In true towing yard fashion, he gave me a very small discount, and the bill was still $2,300. Of course, they only take cash (tax avoidance?), which was difficult for me to do in my situation. There are opportunities in life to have empathy and to do something impactful when the circumstances are compelling. Olsen Towing values cash over community. Period.
IF YOUR GOING TO TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE REVIEWS, THIS IS THE ONE YOU SHOULD READ! On August 16th 2024 at about 9:30pm Trevor from Olson Towing was leaving his parents residence when he backed into my parked vehicle at my residence (which is right across the street) and left a god awful dent in the back. I was luckily sitting on my porch at the time of the incident, otherwise he was trying to drive off! I ended up chasing him down the street flagging for him to come back, once he got back he started making all kinds of excuses before he even sees the damage he caused, he tried explaining how “he didn’t do it” and “the dent was already there” he refused to admit blame. I told him “let’s call the police and let them sort it out” and then he admitted that “he might of backed into it” and “don’t call the police”. Because it has apparent that Trevor was wasted (drunk off the booze) and was driving a company vehicle. (In the state of South Dakota commercial drivers are only allowed a 0.04 limit) and he was far above that to back into a parked vehicle. He ensured me that he or the company would fix it as long as I didn’t get the police involved because he didn’t want his commercial license revoked. It took 2 months of me calling the company about repairs with no call backs, and for my old man to go down to there office and say “either pay for the damages or we will see you in court” and after that they decided it was time to pay up and they weren’t getting away with scamming a 21 year old girl! After 7 months of dealing with this god awful company, my car is finally fixed. I waited this long to post this review as I was afraid they would have retaliated more than they already did. What’s baffling is that Trevor still works for this company!! I have no idea what business would keep an employee on after having the knowledge of that employee drinking and driving a company vehicle (off the clock) and trying to do a hit and run. I would not recommend this business to anyone!!

I called this company yesterday after a stressful situation with my vehicle breaking down. I was assured it would be towed... the wait time was quoted at 70 min which wasn't a big deal. They had me leave my keys in the vehicle. I find out this morning that they couldn't find my vehicle (although we gave the address and very detailed description of where it was located). The driver did call yesterday - once, for 1 ring and hung up without leaving a message. I immediately tried calling back and was forwarded to VM (that was not set up). I proceeded to call 2 more times and no one answered. I thought they must not have needed to talk to me. Again, no big deal. They didn't tow the vehicle though. Didn't notify me they didn't tow the vehicle.. it was a big deal. Very rude this morning when I called. On a positive note, RAPID TOWING was amazing!!They were kind, quick, and knowledgeable. And better priced...
I can't say enough about Olson Towing. They were very professional, courteous and friendly and helped out my family during a difficult time. We were involved in a rather serious incident but Olsons helped us through it very easily and safely. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs help!
Highly recommend this towing company everyone was super friendly. They did need help getting on base but were still able to tow out of base housing. The gentleman that was towing even taught me a few tips and tricks on my jeep! Thank you so much for towing my jeep!
My daughters friend was stranded on the side of the interstate waiting for a towing company from AAA. That towing company cancelled after her waiting for 5 hours and they were on Site within 45 minutes. Thank you for the speedy service. Would highly recommend!
Upon receiving a quote for a tow from a location outside of Rapid City, the female on the phone told me I would receive the first 5 miles for free and would be charged accordingly. After the driver showed up, he took pictures of my vehicle, and we proceeded to go to the destination. My bill reflected I was charged for the whole trip. After my vehicle was fixed, I saw that my driver's side mirror was broken, I had just replaced this and it absolutely made me angry. I emailed Olsen towing twice to tell them it was broken and to send me the pictures they took, as I believe they broke my mirror. I have had NO responses. NO sort of communication since these emails were sent. What kind of company doesn't even try to figure out an issue with a customer?! I would not go through them again l.
Flat tire on an icy and cold I-90 near New Underwood. AAA sent Olson’s towing and Rick arrived within about 35 minutes. Rick was awesome and was very conscious to put our safety first. He was great to work with in every way. I appreciate the fast service and the great customer care!

I had a semi parked at a local truck stop for an extended time broke down due to a wiring issue. It was towed- rightfully so. However, it should not be $1200 to tow a semi (with no trailer) 6 miles. I love how they also justify a $250 fee to send out a certified letter. I had a semi and trailer towed in a blizzard last February 19 miles from a different company for $915. So I'm curious as to how they can justify their numbers? I have tried contacting the owner of Olson Towing multiple times to ask how and why their prices are double and I haven't heard a word back. He must be embarrassed for having being confronted on why his rates are out of line. I know I would feel absolutely guilty. I wasn't upset about my truck getting towed one bit- that was my fault for not getting it out of there to a shop. But instead my bill was so high, I let them have a $15,000 semi that I worked very hard to buy. I would let Hunter Biden give me the covid shot with his own needles before I ever did business with Olson Towing, Tow Pros, or the Zylstra Towing/ Olson Towing in Sturgis. This is a small community and you guys need to be better.
Prompt, professional, and fair priced tow service. Got me and my broken down van off the side of the highway and to Logan's transmission (who did a great job as well). Couldn't have asked for anything more.
