DO NOT BUY AN AUTO BATTERY FROM HERE!! They do NOT stand by their warranty period! I bought a battery here about two-and-a-half years ago and last summer it was becoming slow to start my car! I took it to TWO nationally known auto parts stores and they both
tested and it said, bad, replace. I came here and they tested it with their so-called machines and they said it tested fine. I've also had to have it jump-started by AAA more than once and it wasn't even that cold this winter and my car is garaged. Now that the battery is completely dead its just out of warranty! NEVER doing business here again!
A+ auto parts store. Their prices are comparable and often better than the chain stores, and with a far more knowledgeable staff.
Dan and Tom took their time to help me diagnose a problem and find the parts I needed. That's always my experience at Dakota. Whether I'm spending $20 or $600, they take the time to help me get what's needed.

This is an auto parts store that I drive past a lot, but I only stop when it's an emergency. They are always nice and usually have what I need, I should make this place my go to.

I ordered the wrong part for my auto. And the part was sent from a different state. Ugh! How annoying! I was upset.
I recommend, avoid what I did! Its best to go into the store, and not just call, because, calls can cause misunderstandings.
And bring your documents that show what exactly your auto is a to z. Im serious. Less chance you'll make the same mistake I made. I am a tomboy, And, so I am not known to make mistakes like this....I am 99.9% of the time, on the ball, accurate when I place an order.

The employee I was talking to I request this ( I do not recall what the auto part is called exactly)
he said
" hold on, I will be right back!"
He checked the supply room. It so happened, the auto part I needed was in the store. Well...what...the..
As I was thinking when employee was checking the supply room
" here we go again, do I have to order it from a different state?"
Repair auto was becoming a major headache!! Yes of course, what auto isnt a ....
No worries though, employee found in the supply room, what I needed to repair the auto. What a total relief! Super friendly employees, they are honest and quite helpful.
I recommend this store over other parts stores.
I called asking about some items and they were waiting for me when I arrived. Good selection. Clean. Well organized and crisply stocked. Courteous staff.
Dakota Auto Parts has been a Sioux Falls high standard for decades. They have a great selection, clean, well lit store and helpful employees.
Everyone here is always willing to go the extra mile without being asked.
Friendly staff. Quality parts. Probably the best collection of knowledgeable parts counter people you will find in Sioux Falls and they will give you straight up, honest advice.
So in Sioux falls to pick up a piece of medical equipment, needed a 2 5/16 hitch walked in everyone was busy so I located the triple hitch made by Curtis, went to the counter " do you have an account with us" " no I don't" I was charged 76.59 for a hitch that sells at advance Auto parts for 54.99. simple to understand Dakota Auto parts business model screw them the first time as you most likely won't get a second chance.
I love going here to buy all my paint supplies, max and scotty thanks for all you do, if they are not accessible the others are just as eager to help thanks guys.
Sold me bad paint, only replaced the paint none of the labor, the paint expert did not know a single thing, told me I wouldn’t have to prime again but I did, as well as redoing all the body filler, THEY MIXED THE PAINT WRONG no experience or care for customers, over 200 hours of my time down the drain and not paid for really should have taken them to court, will never do business there again, for parts Napa is where to go and for paint go to any other paint shop in Sioux Falls,
I wish I knew the name of the gentleman that helped my husband and I pick out auto paint and chemicals necessary for the job. He was spectacular. Extremely helpful and didn't try to sell us the most expensive stuff. He also didn't give us the worst either. He even printed out paper instructions for mixing. Wonderful customer service. Well done.

Called and ordered wheel bearing and had them put it in Will Call. When arrived at store,the told me a completely different price. Approximately $30. more. Counter person asked original sales person and he said I don't think I gave shop price,and would not honor price. Not a satisfied customer.
Might want to tell your employees that drive your vehicles with your logo on it to NOT pull out infront of traffic without looking. Just about took out one of your guys when he made a left turn infront of me just a block from your store!
The employees are always willing to go the extra mile to help you, and as a female, they never act like I don't know anything about vehicles and don't try to get me to buy the most expensive item.
