They take pretty much anything if it falls under their acceptable items. Anything that is still usable gets donated back to the community at no cost to the public. Win win for you, the environment and your fellow community members.

They are SO HELPFUL! I have a big estate I'm trying to clean up, and have come across more than a few items I don't even know how to classify. They are GREAT about stupid questions! (Or, at least, I feel like they're stupid questions, but they never treat me like that!) If you have ANY questions, or just don't have a clue where something fits in the grand scheme of recycling, they are great about answering any and all questions!

Called to see if my dad had possibly dropped a 20 dollar bill when he got out of his car to help the guy open the door to unload his items and the guy that answered the phone was very rude. I politely asked my question and he very rudely said well if he did the wind probably took it. There is no wind and the least he could’ve done was double check or politely say no I haven’t had anything turned in. Teach your employees some customer service!

Nice wheel loader operator brought bucket to back door of truck. Tossed steel dryer and other steel items right in the bucket. Because he was pushing steel pile and we wanted to stay back out of the way. Good job buddy work safe and smarter not dumb and harder.

Worthless government run facility. Guess I'll just throw my hazardous waste in the garbage next time bc they don't have the equipment or facilities to deal with hazardous waste. What a joke

Quick and painless. I needed to drop off a 3DS battery pack because it started to puff up and they took it super easy. Bring your license, because they need to scan it!

Tried to drop off 4 tv’s. 3 were mine and 1 was left in a rental unit. They wouldn’t take any because the 1 wasn’t mine. Then my mom was behind me had 2 tv’s she had and they wouldn’t take them either. They were really rude. Next time just smash them up and put in regular garbage I guess.

Great place to drop off hazardous waste like used car oil, other car fluids, old lightbulbs, batteries etc. Check their website before bringing certain items to make sure it's accepted. Some things need to go to the landfill.

I am a landlord and they wouldn’t take two televisions or microwaves because it is evidently for private citizens who pay taxes. I pointed out that as a rental owner I pay awfully high taxes and the manger said that since I make a profit I can’t use the facility. Hey City of Sioux Falls how about a tax refund for my properties since my exorbitantly high taxes isn’t enough to let me use this facility.

The guy was Rude as hell. I tried dropping off a microwave but didn’t let me because my drivers license didn’t match Sioux Falls. Yeah because I’m driving all the way from Yankton to drop off a microwave. Was rude on the phone when I asked if a picture of mail was enough. And was rude when I finally showed a piece of mail. All that hassle to drop off a microwave.

Very unprofessional and rude person greeted me. Questioned how many TVs I was dropping off so I told him a couple, but actually had 3 so he questioned me again??? I felt like I was being interrogated. Wouldn't take a paper shredder. If they continue this kind of service, people will start throwing stuff off in ditches.

We have had very good experiences at this facility in the past. This time we were helping clean out a house for an 86 year old man. We had 3 very heavy tv consoles and record players to dispose of. The first time we went there an employee named Chuck started questioning us as to where the stuff came from. We explained our connection to the owner and he told us we needed to take it to a place where we had to pay to drop it since it wasn't ours. Then he told us if we got the owners ID we could drop it off. So we got the ID and went back. The same rude person met us. We gave him the ID and he scanned it. Then started questioning us as to why a person would have 3 old consoles and said it was pretty strange. Then he complained about where they were situated in the trailer. My husband had to get out and push the consoles to the back of the trailer for them. This person - Chuck - is not a very good representative for the city of Sioux Falls!

The couple of people I dealt with couldn't have been more polite, helpful or informative. Total pros.

After some wonderful fall cleaning, I went down to dispose of some electronics and chemicals. The staff was very nice and very efficient. Make sure to stop by and do the right thing when getting rid of electronics or chemicals.

Fairly rude employee met me at the drive up, I felt like I was being interrogated and judged over every little thing in my truck. Perhaps my expectations were too high but I'm glad I won't need to return any time soon.

I was there on a very busy Saturday. Everyone on staff was fast and efficient all while keeping a wonderful attitude.

I had to dispose of some hydraulic oil that was used in a lapidary saw. I took it down and the gentlemen working was very pretty rude and commanding stating "you need to get that out of here now" like I had brought them a box full of C4. He didn't provide much help with where to take it outside of a phone number for a CESQC Coordinator for the city. Luckly the folks at Tractor Supply up the street where able to take it and recycle it for me. Not a stellar experience.

Yes, this a place to bring your unwanted or broken electronics, harsh cleaning supplies, old chemicals that came with your new house, leftover paint, and possum poisons and the like. Why? So you know the harmful chemicals and gas these products might contain won't end up in our water supply, accidentally harming your family, or catching your possums on fire. It just so happens to be the law as well. So gather up all of the above, and bring 'em on down to this facility for proper disposal. The earth will thank you. And while you're there, you are welcome to look through some of the products that have been left by other resident's, but are still useable, labeled, and deemed safe. See something you could use? Some odd ball paint color you think would work just fine for Fido's new dog house you're building? Well you are also welcome to do some shopping while you're here as well. Reduce. Re-use. Recycle folks!
