I was there back in 2021 and got a tour of the yard for $30 for my two buddies and I. Jim seemed to open up a bit after there was money involved. I mean I don't blame him. I went back recently with damn near 5 grand in my pocket to buy some wall hangers or parts for my dozen projects but he felt I was wasting his time. Jim could have made some money that day but guess he didn't want to. Cool stuff there but I don't think I'll ever go back.
I had an incredible time at Jim’s Auto Salvage! I went there to find license plates, and guess what? I ended up getting not just one, but two - a brand-new one and an older one, both in perfect condition! Jim, the friendly guy who helped me out in the yard, was super knowledgeable and knew exactly where to look. He made the whole process super quick and easy.
This place is huge, well-organized, and filled with all sorts of cars and trucks. Whether you’re looking for parts or just want to check it out, it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the Sturgis area. I’ll definitely be back!
I truly enjoyed my visit here, I was looking for a couple specific items, and the owner drove me around the property to help me find them. She was very nice and really enjoyed talking about the business and the history there.
I would love to spend the day just walking around, but they do not allow that, and I understand why. I don't like it, but I understand it... This visit was the highlight of my week I really enjoy old salvage yards like this
Stopped when we were on vacation. Purchased some chrome and a headlight bezel for 56 Merc Wagon. Jim and Cyndi are great people! Jim really knows his stuff! BE RESPECTFUL, and they will treat you with respect. After all it is THEIR yard. Can't wait to get back out there!
Jim is an onry codger and a great guy! He has some real treasures and I've bought a few. Don't come at him arguing price. If you can't agree move on and find something else. His wife Cindy is terrific too.
Lady that answered the phone was very rude to me on the phone mind you it says they are open 24 7 she said they werent open and arent at shop call beck when they are open.Wouldnt recommend this place to anyone

1st of all, waited 2 hours to get approval to the car i could take the hood hinge off of. finished and looked around at other vehicles opening a few doors, then closing them. All of a sudden the couple came back there screaming at me and my son for opening doors without approval. Didn't think it was a big deal. He proceeded to ask me if i was deaf, and dont understand instructions, that were never issued to me. Apparently they had disrespectful customers in the past. I kept my cool because i wasted over 2 hours to get my overpriced hinge. I was informed that i was banded from returning, and he made it clear, a few times. He was also was sarcastic when i decided i wasn't buying his over priced torn up junk seat for 350.00. after i purchased my hinge, i told him i could find a good seat on Ebay for less. and he made another snide comment, that i won't repeat. These people are very rude, and i hope their business forecloses before they treat too many others the way they treated us .By the looks of it, that may come soon.
