The Indian tacos are the specialty but the steak tips are AMAZING! Best carrot cake I've ever had! Friendly staff. Quaint little cafe. We drive from Rapid just to eat here. Highly recommend!

I would give ya the biggest tip if I was rich the Burger was better than McDonald's and the fries hit the spot. Thank you for all you do.

Fantastic service, great food. Watched them deal with a crazy customer today and they were so sweet and patient with her even when she didn't deserve it. Good people work here and the food is awesome.

We had ZERO intention on stopping. We were just driving in the Black Hills when, out of nowhere, we came up on this place. Adorable shop with a restaurant inside. The food smelled amazing and we were convinced by the hostess to enjoy an Indian Taco and carrot cake. We were seated promptly. Our server was Kristie. When we ordered, she seemed put out and could care less. We were confused as to what we did to make her feel this way towards us. We ordered the Taco and carrot cake. Both were delicious. Please tell Kristie that is she is having a bad day, we are praying for her.

The Indian tacos are incredible! They are huge and easily shared between two people. Highly recommend!

This cozy restaurant is nestled right in Spearfish canyon and is a delight in every way. We were recommended this restaurant for its Cheyanne tacos and all of it was worth the experience and then some. The staff were extremely friendly and even helped me and my mom plan the rest of our day with sites in near by towns of Lead and Deadwood. It's truly a unique dining establishment and is for e everyone!

This place is great the locals were very helpful to me. It’s so beautiful there. They have the world famous Indian taco it’s good but I’ve never had an Indian taco so I really can’t say. There was one waitress for about 20 people

I have to put in my 2¢ on this little restaurant. It's a busy little restaurant during tourist season but that's a good thing. It's sooo worth the wait. Best food ever, the chili is excellent, the Indian tacos, burgers, and the desert was to die for. I'm going to take my sister-in-law on a road trip and surprise her driving from Lansford ND to Cheyenne Crossing next week. The staff, the location and the food are all worth it, and the desert was amazing!!!

The Indian tacos are worth traveling for. We regularly vacation in the southern hills but frequently venture to the northern side for a day and Cheyenne Crossing is a major reason why. We've also enjoyed their breakfast and our kids have ordered other dinner entrees (chicken alfredo, steak) and everyone has always been really happy with their food. They have puzzle toys on the tables that the kids also enjoy.

What a great stop in an historic location and beautiful setting! The staff was super friendly, the food excellent and the store stocked with interesting stuff and a nice selection of cold drinks and beer. We had the bison burger and Indian taco for lunch and they were excellent! There was also a great selection of homemade pies for dessert, the strawberry rhubarb and mountain medley hit the spot. We will be back for another round soon!

The steak, baked potato, salad and brocolli were all prepared amazing. The seasoning and sear on the steak was perfect. The carrot cake was definitely the best I have ever tried. 😋 Service was great and waitress was really nice.

I knew I wanted to try Fry Bread while I was in the hills. Granted I have nothing to compare them to, first time and all that, but they are insanely awesome! If you're in the Hills, stop in here. Reasonable prices, friendly servers and great food.

The only words that can describe Cheyenne Crossing is legendary! From food (corn beef hash) to the people (owners and staff filled with kindness and humor) you can’t go wrong. In the summer stop in for a huge breakfast before a hike (breakfast until 2:00 PM), get some supplies (jackets, rocks, snacks), and use the restroom (3 at location). This location is also positioned as a good meeting point between Spearfish, Savoy (Spearfish Canyon Lodge + waterfalls) and Lead/Sturgis. In winter stop in for hot cocoa and steak. Also, lookout for special dinners like on Valintine’s day. If you are looking for a great food experience like non-other in the Black Hills then visit Cheyenne Crossing!

Midwest classic/diner-ish eatery popular among the throngs who visit the Black Hills for vacation and the Rally. Top notch waitress, big menu, interesting old-time, not spacious restaurant with a touristy gift shop interestingly not necessarily specializing in local goods. Rare find in the Indian Taco. And yummy pie.

Were were looking for a nice place to have a late brunch and we’re so glad we came here! You can tell it’s gonna be good by the amount of cars parked with SD plates. The locals know best! You MUST try the bison burger. I ordered the brunch skillet with a sourdough pancake and it was delicious. I really want to come back and try the Indian tacos tho!

Absolutely the best breakfast 😋 Highly recommend anything on their menu but you must try the pancakes and biscuits and gravy! Love the gift shop also... so many great options. I could spend hours looking.

Very cozy stop in the beautiful surroundings of Spearfish Canyon. There were several groups waiting for a table when we came in but we didn’t have to wait more than 10 minutes for a table. Service was speedy and friendly. We had the Indian taco and the fry bread dessert dish with strawberry sauce (don’t recall the name). Would recommend.

A great stop. Outdoor bathrooms were unexpected. I had the Indian taco. Dad had a bison burger. The food was just okay, but what really shined here was the service. Wendy was just great.

Updated Review! We have been to Cheyenne Crossing twice since its' reopening after the fire and OMG - do I dare say it is even better? This time I had the shrimp dinner and it was fantastic! The potato wedges are huge and so very filling! The vegetable beef soup was so tasty! My husband devoured his perfectly cooked Stage Stop Burger! Darn it! No room for dessert this time... but I am looking forward to our next visit... which I already know I will be ordering the Indian Taco and maybe getting the dessert to go!! Our waitress, Joy, was so sweet and attentive! The gift shop selections are fantastic. Thank you, Dave! We will return again and again!!

Best Indian Taco I have had east of the Rockies. Restaurant a bit confusing to get to, but well worth the trip around the property. The ham dishes floating by looked incredible. Parking spots specifically for motorcycles.

We went back and forth about eating here and I’m really glad we decided to get something to eat. Our waitress, I can’t remember her name, was awesome. They only had 2 waitresses and ours had 9 tables. But she kept up with no problems. She had a great personality. I had the breakfast burrito and my husband had eggs. Both were really good. If in the area I’d definitely recommend stopping for breakfast.

Kind of looks so so from the outside but one we sat down and tried the dinner salad we knew it was going to be good. We had a group of 10 so able to try a lot of different stuff and everything was delicious. The young waitress was very good at her job as well.

Wow! So good! I have only ever had the Indian Taco there and both times were amazing! Service was great! Lunch to dinner menu on the taco is about a $1.00 difference. I have also heard the carrot cake is so good. That’s next on our list!

Excellent food and friendly service! Everything we got was top-notch. Family friendly. Get the Indian Taco!! And make sure you leave room for dessert!

Nice little place to stop and get a good breakfast on your way to the parks and/or Mount Rushmore. Cute little building with a very friendly staff. The pancakes are enormous! I made the mistake of ordering 2 and could barely finish one. Sausage was really good, eggs could have used a little seasoning. Hubby enjoyed the corned beef hash. Looked like the real deal and not the canned stuff most places use. Nice little gift shop attached. Only complaint would be the restrooms. They're outside the building and I'm thinking unheated, cause it was coooooold! I wouldn't say it was dirty.. lets go with rustic.

Friendly staff and good food! Their gift shop has lots of really neat things like gemstones, crystals, and even buffalo skulls! Be sure to pick up a bottle of the 'Heifer Dust'

I would drive back to Cheyenne Crossing just to eat at this restaurant! My husband got the fry bread taco and I got the taco skillet (that wasn't the name of it, sorry) The food was bigger than our heads and it was DELICIOUS. You could tell the hashbrowns didnt come from a freezer bag and were shredded there and fried up in real butter. Then it had layers of taco mean, bean sauce, pico, cheese, eggs. I ate until I was stuffed and miserable and I'd do it again tomorrow. We should have gotten the carrot cake to go. Also...the store on site was awesome, too. We bought some great things for our house and some gifts for our parents.

Great atmosphere! Our waitress, Amanda, was phenomenal, super nice and patient with my kids. Food was fantastic!!! Best burger I had on my whole vacation, hands down! We left happy and stuff!
