Aug 15, 2025 I had a procedure done .All staff , doctor, nurses, were very professional, polite. After my procedure I was woke up by a very pleasant lady, Ms Mary B. My discharge nurse. She explained everything very well, took all time needed, no rushing and very caring. I must say this young lady had a great Personality for the busy job she performs everyday. Thank you Ms. Mary B. I wish I could give this place less than 1 star. I’ve worked in the hospital system and ambulatory surgical center environments for over 12 years. They didn’t sedate me all the way and missed the signs that I was waking up mid procedure. I woke up and tried to dislodge the scope, which I remember clearly. I warned them of this possibility as it also happened when I had another procedure about 10 years ago elsewhere. Then they gave me additional propofol once they realized I was awake and brought my blood pressure to below 60/40 by the time they rolled me into PACU. My husband is also an experienced RN and HAD TO ASK the pacu nurse for IV fluids to get my pressure up. They made me pay $350 over my deductible on the morning of my surgery or else they wouldn’t do the surgery. Their billing department is so horrific that I couldn’t get ahold of them personally for over 90 days to get an explanation. This was never resolved. Then they are saying I owed them another couple hundred and as I’m trying to pay the last of my bill, they keep telling me my payment is “voided” but haven’t reimbursed me and can’t give me an explanation as to why it never was received by them but was taken out of my bank account. Consider other options and don’t just accept the first place your provider tells you to go. They may have privileges elsewhere so be sure to shop around and pay attention. This was the result of my blind trust in the hospital system that not only provides my insurance, but is also my employer. Shame.

Everyone at ACS was wonderful during my surgery. They were safety, dignity, and comfort focused. They treated me so well and made sure I had everything I needed for a safe discharge. All of my nurses, from pre-op to post-op, truly represented the profession to its highest level, and I can’t thank them enough for helping me get through a scary day. The doctors were great, and I’m glad I had the surgery here.

Great front staff but miscommunication, big time. We had an appointment at 10:45. But got two phone calls had to get moved up to 10:15 and than 9:15. We got here at 9:14 and didn’t get in till 11:34 and were told they never moved the appointment up when I have two voice mail and conformation. We ending up waiting longer than the original appointment time and were the last to get in!! Very disappointed and upset.

Requiring you to pay up front is a billing nightmare when you are overcharged and if you are due a refund, don't count on getting your money for months and I still have not gotten my refund. Worst billing practices ever!! Schedule your procedures early in the year so you don't have to worry about deductible or max out of pocket and get overcharged.

I cannot thank the staff enough for the care my son received. He had complications after his tonsils and adenoids were removed. Everone jumped into action to make sure he was taken care of. He was eventually transferred to SR. The nurse in recovery even called the next day to check on him. If I could give them more stars I would.

Poor poor poor communication! I asked several times for information to be emailed to me so I can review it! Never happened and the billing department is awful. Had to wait for surgery over a month and now having to wait! I hate this place! Update: 8/9 Still lack of communication. As a medical provider, I understand that things happen and can change in hours, but how you relay the information is vital for reassurance. My appointment was changed in 24 hours which put my wife in a situation being that she also works. There was no consideration and when speaking with the scheduler there was no empathy. Also when someone calls and does a preopt check and ask you have you ever had xyz which you are coming in for, that doesn't make you feel good. (Have you ever had kidney stones? Ma’am that's what I'm coming in for. Again not reassuring. Lastly, they don't send email updates of changes to your schedule. You have to hope you're around for the phone call. While again these things are not within control of the surgical center, it's about reassurance and communication. They failed in that area .

Terrible overall experience. My daughter had her tonsils removed on 02/19/2024 and we didn’t get her prescription called in until Thursday 02/22/2024. My daughter is over 18 and as her mom I was calling to ask about her medication and the nurse would call my daughter back and she didn’t answer or call back because she was in pain or sleep. I had been calling everyday asking about her medication and no call back. I had to call Thursday and leave a message saying I will need to speak to the next person in charge and FINALLY my number was called and a prescription was called in. As a mother I don’t think it was fair to buy over the counter medicine (which that was never the problem, because I would have done anything to not have her suffering) but the prescribed medication could have worked better. So as a parent it was not fair to see my child suffer in pain and it wasn’t fair for her to be in pain that long without prescribed medication. I would not recommend this facility/doctor to anyone in Spartanburg SC or SC for that matter to have this procedure performed. I hate that my child was suffering and even when I received a call back not a simple, SORRY was given just excuses. TERRIBLE

Big thank you to nurse Joyce. She saw that I was nervous about my procedure & calmed my nerves. I couldn’t thank you more!! The check in was perfect as well as the whole process!

Nurse that took me to room had no sense of humor . The Doctors and nurses that did my procedure was very nice . Only other thing confused me was they wheeled me out of the place before i was completely awake . I dont remember that day hardly at all .

Staff was amazing and took great care of my 12 month old. Just like all the other reviews my only negative thing was the amount due the morning of surgery. They gave me an estimate, which I called my insurance company about and was told they haven't even been billed yet so how would the center know what the estimate would be. They gave me a low estimate and a high estimate amount and of course they said the higher amount would be due. They gave me 3 days to come up with the amount close to 1000. The morning of the surgery they were going to cancel her procedure until I showed them an email from my insurance company. Please fix this issue! It's dragging this place down!!! Billing needs to be fixed asap!

Good experience but billing tried to get me for 1900+ dollars. Reported to Medicare for attempted fraud. Bill was resolved after 8 months of stress. Would not recommend this facility.

Nurses and staff are great however the billing team here is absolutely horrible, they have no idea what they are doing. They are charging us 1700 up front or was going to deny my wife needed surgery. After speaking with insurance this surgery is 100% covered by them and there is no copay or cost to us what-so-ever. They even called and explained this to them, however they still charged us and made us pay up front. Needless to say our insurance company is pursuing compensation on our behalf since this place won't refund (meaning they now have over charged) and we are retaining legal counsel and will be pursuing them legally.

My husband came here for his second knee replacement. I am so much happier here than where he had the first one (Mary Black). The nursing staff and other staff here at ASC were so much better too. His recovery nurse, Charlotte was great! His admitting nurse (don't know her name, but she had beautiful lashes) was great too. Thank you for all you did for my husband!

The staff of nurses and doctors done a tremendous job with my mother’s surgery! From beginning to end they kept us aware of how it was going. They made a rather stressful time very easy for me and my family.

Dr. Kobes and nurses were professional; knowledgeable to their due professions/duties...while check-in person was prompt in his delivery and billing. I thought the amount paid by myself (after insurance co-pay) was well worth all the excellent service I received that day!!! Waiting room time was off the charts...leas than 5 minutes wait, if that....it all went so fast... Recovery was top-notch. 5- Star rating !!!! KUDOS !!!!

The clinical care at the facility was top notch. Everyone was wonderful and treated me with respect and offered great care even with special precautions in place for COVID response. However, that does not make up for the poor billing procedures in place for this location. I was made to pay a fairly hefty sum of money up front regardless of being told by my insurance that it would be covered at 100%. I tried to talk to staff prior to and there was misinformation provided to them so they still required me to pay up front which I completely understand. Mildly frustrating since I knew it would be covered at 100% but somewhat understandable. What is not understandable is that the check from my insurance company was cashed over a month ago now and yet I still cannot seem to obtain a refund. Everyone is incredibly nice and professional when I call so there is that at least; however, I just would really like my money back.

The patient is not my important. All they are concerned is to rush you out right after you wake up from surgery not the patient. No communication just rushed to the car. I have had several surgeries and have had communication after waking up to make sure I was okay, something. The IV was jerked out of my hand and sent on my way.

Too bad so many negative review about billing and slow reimbursement. Every other part of our experience here was excellent but the policy is to hold on to my money that they required me to over pay. now that insurance has settled they will take yet another 8 weeks to cut a check? Really? Take a lesson from amazon who can get you anything in the world in 2 days or Paypal who can transfer money in seconds! No excuse except they make money by holding patients cash for months longer than needed to help cash flow. Please fix this! Also very cowardly of the administrator to hide. Can't find contacts to complain anywhere and the phone reps will not escalate to a supervisor. smells very scammy. - Brian

Absolutely terrible experience from a billing standpoint just as all the others on here. Trust me, they are all accurate. They will require a prepay for surgery and overcharge by hundreds of dollars, then never refund your credit. Almost 3 months after surgery and I still cannot get anyone to help send MY money back to me. Avoid at all cost!

SCAM! We were told only 2 weeks in advance of a 600$ bill that needed to be paid up front for my sons surgery, once this was paid we would be billed the remainder. We showed up at 6:15 Thursday morning to take our son in for surgery and were met with a 2600 upfront bill for the remainder of the deductible. I’ve never heard of a facility requiring A PIF the morning of a infant surgery. I understand a automated text was sent, in conjunction with a letter (which was received that same morning when we returned home from surgery) requiring this payment was sent and how this may meet SC minimum standards this is NOT a customer centric experience and an EASY way to force parents to enter debt due to an ultimatum of “care credit” (26% interest rate best rate possible) OR your infant doesn’t get the necessary care needed. Not only is there POOR communication between the ENT, and this facility but it really is unacceptable how back into a corner they really make you feel. I’m sure nobody of any real status will read this or be able to do anything however, if so, PLEASE make this a priority. The communication policy’s NEED to be adjusted. The up front requirement needs to be adjusted. We are parents and community members. The fact that this facility is forcing good people & loving parents into awful, high interest options really should be unacceptable to anyone’s standards. I truly wish I could file a lawsuit however, I understand these are the holes in our insurance and medical system and this needs to be fixed.

I normally do not take the time to do reviews but this SCAM needs it. We walked in this morning so my 10 month old could have surgery. we get paperwork done and then get asked how we are going to pay the $2600 bill that has to be paid before he can get the surgery. We got told over the phone we had to pay $609 everything else we would get billed for after being told we didn't talk to anybody in this office we got told. Well we sent a text and then on 7/18/2019 we sent out a letter.. we got the letter today the day we had the surgery on. The 2 problems with this is how are you going to send out a letter only 6 days before the surgery and think anybody can come out of pocket with that kind of money. 2 why not call people if you have the time to text people you can find the time to call them. The only thing we could do is apply for care credit and oh you know that wonderful promo that told us about is just a life saver.... NOT!!! all of the reviews about this place is real.

The staff were excellent on the day of my surgery. Dr.Foster was wonderful. Played off my bill in March. Received an extra bill for $376.50 in September. After several calls where no one knew why or could call me back with an answer..... several Bill's later now claiming I will go to collections. I drove from Florida to the surgery center to speak to a real person face to face. The woman I talked was very nice and agreed the bill looked wrong. But billing is in Missouri. She did try to contact whoever could answer my question. They wouldn't answer even her phone call. Finally, hours later Tristan.... who I spoke to months ago called. From what he saw i should get a refund. Called back 2 weeks later to say they had entered one of my payments wrong and that's why i suddenly have a new bill 6 months later. 1) it took 5 months and a 10 hour drive for anyone to be able to come up with an excuse. 2) the math doesn't even add up on their own statement. 3) still waiting for a call from the manager. They won't give me that number. What stops them from coming up with a bogus bill next month?

Terrible experience. Waited 4 hours in pre-op area, watching countless others go in and out of surgery. After coming to from anesthesia for a 3.5 hour surgery at 7:30 pm, was very sick and awoke to staff members in regular clothing, rushing me out of there when I should have been admitted for the night. I would not wish what I experienced here on anyone.
