My car completely stopped. I was able to get it out of the road. My alternator quit working. I knew it was going bad because I have an appointment Saturday to have it replaced. The young man who came to my rescue to tow me home was Kris, with a K. He was amazing. It was hard for me to get in the truck and he was so helpful getting this old lady in. What can I say? I had to be towed twice in one day. My little box truck got a drive tire flat and got put on the hook. Six hours later had to call another wrecker service due to def system. 5 mile an hour crawl and was glad I got this one. My driver Yank. Cause he is a Dang Yankee was an absolute gem. I’m super happy with the way I was treated and how my truck was handled. Would most definitely do business with them again. But I hope I don’t have to. The man needs a raise or more tips. Yes I did my part.

Let me start by saying I caused my truck to be towed from the truck stop because it was parked there to long since I came off the road and was trying to sale it thanks to Joe Bidden driving many of us single truck owner operators out of business. But to tow it 12 miles and charge a local hometown guy $1100 dollars to get it back is shameful. I could almost see it if it where some large outfit that has resources. I have used Scruggs off and on over last 31 years through other companies and my own stuff because they were premier. Sad to see how it has deteriorated since Carl has passed away. He would have never charged that much in this situation after finding out the facts of someone on hard times, he just wouldn't have. But what comes around, goes around. Scruggs now is living off his goodness built over the years and is being run in the ground by charlatans. Don't use them. They only care about getting your wallet, not your loyalty.
100 percent recommend this towing company! Our breaks went out on our 31' RV. We called several companies many of which couldn't haul such a big load and the few who could haul us priced us triple what we paid Scruggs. The driver we got goes by the name Yank and he was outstanding!! Got to us within the hour, he was very nice and very experienced at his job. I had my 5 year old son with us when we broke down and he was super nervous of everything going on. Yank took the time to talk to him, calm him down and assure him everything was okay. If you are looking for a tow truck company that can haul just about anything, who treats you like family and doesn’t charge an arm and a leg please give Scruggs & Sons call! Thanks again you guys!!
Craig delivered a huge track loader for us. He did a great job and was a super nice guy. We could tell he had decades of experience. The price was fair.
Known the owner, his son, and couple employees by doing biz with this company for years. They have gone above and beyond to help me.. especially with a situation I had getting a mini house here.. I had exhausted all my funds due to people ripping me off and I was not familiar with permits.. (it was in NC).. Tom, the owner, gave me a great deal and handled everything!! To this day I would not have a home w/o Scruggs Wrecker.. thank you Tom, and driver for all you did for me.. y'all are awesome

KB was an amazing person and Leslie helped me every step of the way when I was broke down after a tire puncture. They were prompt hauled over 25 miles and helped me when I had questions. Good value as well
I had a wonderful experience with this company. They were professional and courteous. I have a lowered car and he treated it like his own baby. Hopefully I never need to call again but if I do they will be my first call! Thank you!!
Terrible Terrible Terrible. I waited from 10:20 am -1:47 pm for a tow truck. Called every hour to be told I was next to be picked up. The third hour of calling Tim stopped answering my number. Had my husband call and he was told all truck are broken down. Do not recommend giving them business
Touring band on our way to a festival. Our Sprinter decided it didn't want to run anymore @ 8:00 on a Sunday morning in Spartenburg. I googled these guys they sent a mechanic came out to diagnos the problem - unfixable onsite. Got a tow to their secure parking lot until Monday. They recommended a shop in Greenville, towed us down there and we were back in the road on Monday afternoon. Super nice folks, actually helpful on all points, (repairs, costs, local hotels, etc) , good communication start to finish. Highly recommended.
PS Don't bother with the other local 24 road service guys - called them because they were first on the list when I searched, promised to have someone "come right out" - we were parked in their lot. Tthey never came or called.
My step dad was his best driver did everything thing for him he accededentally drove off the side of the road but the person that fired him totaled. His truck but yet he fired my step dad for driving into a ditch by accident and like I said he has been with him for years he quit a good paying job to help pops the owner of Scruggs but what happens in return for quiting a good paying job to help him drive back and forth on like 3 or 5 hours of sleep working for him to just stab him in the back like that and fire him that's just bs
Great service, I had my car towed from my house to a mechanic. The driver was professional and respectful. I didn't get his name but he was driving truck #35. I highly recommend this company.
I will never even try this company due to watching one of their drivers about run multiple people off the road including myself. I don't know where you had to go in such a hurry, but putting others at risk is not acceptable. Shame.
Next time I will call the police. That's my bad. Yes, there is two sides to every story. I always try my best to respect truckers and their big rigs. I haul horses and know how people treat me when I'm on the road. What I saw this day was not disrespect from other drivers. That's all I say.
My truck broke down while passing through Spartanburg, SC yesterday (10/30)
I have AAA so I called AAA to get a tow-truck setup
As a AAA member, I get 3 free miles
Where I was going to tow my truck to was 5.5 miles away
After AAA placed the call for a tow-truck and confirmed that my first three miles were free (but the tow company would charge for the 2.5 miles) a driver from Scruggs & Son Towing called
Right off the bat, he sounded like he was inconvenienced
After telling me that AAA told him it was going to cost $65...he told me it would cost me $100 to tow my truck
I told him I didn't understand...since I was a AAA member and got 3 free miles, how was he going to charge me $100 for 2.5 miles
His response was "AAA told me it was going to cost you $65, so it'll run you $100 to tow."
Maybe I caught them at a bad time, maybe they caught me at a bad time...I don't know but I personally didn't like the attitude of the person that called me
Great towing service. Got a car towed to the scrap yard, and the driver was super friendly, and even warned of how low scrap prices were. 10/10 would use again.
I used Scruggs Towing service on 9/20/2016. They towed my semi-truck and trailer to their yard which is a distance of 39 miles from where my truck broke down. The bill was $800.00. I believe that this company price gouged me. I plan to make it my personal mission to warn truck drivers and motorists not to use this company. I have no problem paying a fair price for service, but this was far from reasonable.
They helped my stepdad after he crashed his 18 Weller into a guardrail and even took him to a gas station and this happened in Laurens and the truck stated to leak fuel. And they made it stop leaking
