What clients say about Etowah Towing and Repair in Spartanburg (SC)

Mark is great at his job and helped me out when AAA wouldn't. I saved his number and I'm cancelling my AAA membership. I'd much rather support a local business that's professional and helps me in a timely manner.

I had a flat tire. I called AAA Roadside Assistance which took forever to even find a tow truck. I called State Farm too which also didn’t work. They were delayed too and never showed up. I finally called here after several hours waiting. Etowah Towing came in 20 - 25 minutes. I had excellent customer service. He did quality work. I will call again. I see now it’s easier to call the tow truck company myself and then submit receipt to insurance company after the fact. Thank you for your service.

I want to be clear: Mike and Al were very nice. I had a flat tire on the side of I-40 at 7pm and didn't have it changed until 12:40am. This was due to a combination of Verizon Roadside Assistance and Etowah Towing & Repair. Vz roadside assistance took almost an hour to find a "rescuer" (their term for service provider.) I was outside of Old Fort, less than 30min from Asheville, but the closest provider they could engage was in Etowah, 90min away. Verizon needs more providers on their roster. This could have fixed the whole debacle. At 8pm, Etowah Towing & Repair accepted my job from Verizon Roadside Assistance. They provided an estimated arrival time of 9-9:30pm. I followed the tracker app for the next 90min and received several updates that Etowah Towing was on the way and on schedule. 9:40pm When they hadn't arrived, I called Etowah Towing directly. I spoke to Mark who explained that he had lost his phone and was still in Etowah. He said he would talk to Verizon. 9:55pm I called Mark again. He said he had not been able to contact Verizon. He wanted to cancel. 10pm I spoke to Shawn at Verizon. Shawn was very nice. He agreed to search for a different provider that could reach me in less than 90min. 10:15pm Shawn calls back. Etowah Towing is still the closest provider responding. Mark has agreed to complete the job and should arrive in "less than an hour." 11:40pm I'm still alone on the side of the road. Call Mark. He says he "shouldn't be too much longer." Reports ~20min away. 12:15am Mark & Al from Etowah Towing finally arrive. They are very friendly and I am very relieved to see them. 12:40 The tire is changed. There was a little confusion bc they brought the wrong jack handle, but they complete the job with my tools. We are all grateful to be able to head home. Verizon Roadside Assistance should have been able to provide a closer provider. But Etowah Towing accepted a job. They arrived almost 3 hours late from their original confirmed time of service. Ultimately, I was on the side of the interstate, alone in the dark for almost 6 hours. I am giving 2 stars to Etowah Towing because they were nice and they did change my tire. *I know how to change a tire, but a 4runner keeps its spare beneath the car. I did not feel safe changing the tire by myself on the side of the interstate in the dark. And I pay Verizon every month for Roadside Assistance for exactly this situation. This whole thing was ridiculous and exhausting.
